Quaint Family lake cottage w/beach, dock,internet on all sports Crawford Lake

Stunning lake views and peaceful pine trees greet you at our lakeside get away for kids, friends and families. Whether you’re looking for the perfect setting for a family summer vacation on the lake; a homebase for your snow mobile adventure, a reunion with old friends or a Fall/Winter weekend retreat, you’ll feel like you’re a world away from your day-to-day life. If you're not ready to be completely away, you can also work remotely with our internet, which we've tested for video conferencing and remote work-- it's ready for you!

Cook family style meals in our kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, spices and basics like olive oil and salt/pepper and make yourself at home in our three cozy bedrooms, one with kid-friendly bunkbeds. Brand new washer/dryer will come in handy after outdoor activities.

Wake up to a pot full of coffee from a regular machine or a French press or choose one of the many teas we stock in the cabinets. Wine snobs welcome—we have an electric wine set and a cheeseboard to go with it, along with lots of games, decks of cards, candles and entertainment to make memories during your stay. The living room brings the outside in with three walls of glass and stunning views of the lake and pine trees—enjoy family time on the ample couches with multiple blankets and pillows while connecting easily to multiple streaming services on the TV.

Outside is as fun as inside! Roast s’mores at the fire pit, fish from the dock, wade into the lake from the sandy beach, bring your boat or use our 2 kayaks and bikes. Crawford is a shallow lake with a sandy bottom with small private sandy beach perfect for little kids.

Easy to reach from Chicago, Detroit or anywhere in Michigan. 35 minutes to all the attractions of Traverse City, 5 minutes to conveniences in Kalkaska such as a year-round farmers market, full grocery store, houses of worship and multiple restaurants. Close to ORV / snowmobile trails, 3 golf courses within 10 minutes.

When you arrive, look for the yellow garage with a large sunflower next to the mailbox (see photo!),

Great place with a great view! We had a great time in this cozy little cottage on the lake. It was a perfect spot for relaxing by the water and fishing off the pier. Our friends had two young kids with them and they had a blast swimming in the lake right off the pier - it was nice and shallow for them to enjoy it. The neighbors are pretty close, but they were all very nice. We also brought a small boat that we were able to tie up to the dock. One of the bedrooms had a very funky smell to it, but other than that it was a great little place. I would recommend it! The sun room was great to enjoy the view with a morning coffee or cozy up on the couch if it ends up raining and you cannot be outside. Thanks for a great place!

Lovely Cottage

Comfortable space for a family and perfect location for day trips in the area. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. Didn't need the A/C but we did use the space heater. We only used 1 of the 2 kayaks but it was easy to find gear in the boat house. Note: property is low-lying and yard may have standing water after a heavy storm.

It was a quiet lake with a beautiful view from the big picture window in a quaint / rustic cottage. All necessary things were included to make for a comfortable stay.

Fishing was good

The cabin served its purpose. There was a musty smell as soon as we walked in. The grass needed cut and the beach for my 6 yr old granddaughter needed to be cleaned up. The cabin definitely needs updates especially the bathroom. The fishing was good and lake shallow. The living room was nice and so was the view. The portable air conditioner did not help keep it cool in back bedroom. My granddaughter enjoyed fishing and swimming.

Great Lake, cabin could use some updates

Overall it was a nice family vacation. The all sports lake wasn't overcrowded, the fishing was good, and water was great for swimming. The cabin served it's purpose with just a few hiccups. Unfortunately the refrigerator didn't work so we had to live out of cooler and lost a few perishables. (I'm sure it's fixed now as we alerted the owners upon us leaving since we didn't want to deal with it while on vacation.) The bikes listed in the description were nowhere to be found, but the kayaks were perfect in the lake. The dock is good for a shallow draft boat, since we don't own one we use it for swimming instead. (I made the mistake of jumping off of it before realizing the water depth and hurt my ankle... that's my own fault!) With a few updates, this really could be an amazing rental. Besides the refrigerator, the full bath could use a renovation as the shower is small and there seems to be a patch covering a hole in the floorpan, and one of couches had an odor. (Either a prior renter had a pet or it got wet. ) In the end, we had fun... The campfires were nice, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the lake was great, and it's around 40 minutes to get to Traverse City. The price point was a little higher since it was the July 4th weekend, but it appears the normal price is about right for what included. Thank you for the stay!

Great Time Up North

The property and location were great. The dock, kayaks, and firepit were a huge hit with the family. Bonus points for great neighbors.

Very comfortable, cozy cabin. Love knotty pine paneling. Heater was needed at night, it rocked! I mention the next two minor things so perhaps they could be corrected. Only difficulty was finding the username/password for WiFi. Eventually discovered speaker looking thing on top shelf was router. I, and many others, thought router was box on floor. Perhaps check-in instructions could be clearer on location. There were only 3 pillows with cases for a cabin that sleeps 7. There were many pillows with shams - decorative and not intended for your resting your head in my view. Finally, not surprised there were cameras on the exterior, but the fact that they followed you as you walked, I found especially creepy.

Cottage needed some TLC. Black mold on back of cottage and door, also on garage. Blown in insulation visible outside and in kitchen. Main bathroom needs help. Shower is so small if you are tall or a larger person you will have issues plus backsplash by the sink is coming off. Does NOT compare to other cottages near by.

4 night family trip w/ 2 kids

This is a beautiful little spot with a wonderful walk out beach and dock for kids. My 4YO loved jumping off dock into shallow water, and our 9mo old loved playing in the sand. Kayaks were nice, lake is quiet, got a little busier on Sat. Cottage was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable long weekend(kitchen utensils, towels, pillows, blankets, TP, life jackets, firewood, etc.). We did two day trips to TC, straight drive to TC in around 30min. My wife and I both agreed, this place would be perfect if the beds weren’t so old, creaky when rolling over, and overall uncomfortable. It was hard for us to get a well rested sleep even after long days on TC bay beach in the sun when we should have just been able to pass out at the end of the day. I slept on the couch in the sun room two nights. We would wake up pretty groggy, which on vacation it’s nice to get solid rest. The sunroom was amazing, the views on the lake were breathtaking. Honestly would recommend this place to anyone and everyone because it was an awesome stay, our only plight were the beds and how close you are to other rentals/neighbors. We had two different sets of people at one neighboring rental during our stay. Both were kind rental neighbors, if you’re looking for being remote or feeling secluded this place would not be for you. Your stay could be hindered by neighbors as you’re literally right next to each other. Patrick(host) always responded promptly to any questions I had. Overall loved our stay!

Rustic cottage, perfect for a summer getaway

This is the perfect place to enjoy summer sun on a lake. We stayed during the week and the lake and neighborhood was quiet, rarely any boats on the lake. Great to kayak around. House is typical up north cottage but the portable AC unit and washer/dryer were nice amenities.

Fall 2022

We had a great time taking in the beauty of this season. Typical MI weather....70s - 40s. When the sun was out, the view of the lake was astounding!!! The cottage is very comfortable, clean and well stocked with comfort items. Patrick is a gem of a person to work with. We hope to return to enjoy another seasonal get-away. Mary, Mt Pleasant
