Waterfront Bethany Beach Cottage, Walk to Beach, Fish, Kayak - Dewey Rehoboth

This three bedroom, two full bath, with outdoor shower, Waters Edge Retreat Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing family vacation. The Cottage is located in the private gated community at South Shore Marina - at the north end of Bethany Beach, just miles from Dewey, Rehoboth & Ocean City Beaches.

With the multiple sliders and windows looking out to the Indian River Bay, this Cottage will become a family favorite for summer trips. The Cottage is walking distance to Delaware Seashore State Park (6/10ths of a mile), where you can enjoy a guarded beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The Indian River Bay surrounds the home and provides an amazing landscape for relaxation and some of the best sunsets you will ever see!

This Cottage has been newly updated with modern decor and is an ideal summer getaway. The multiple living areas allow you to gather with your family and friends, while also having privacy and space.

Spend the day at the beach or take part in the activities offered by Delaware Seashore State Park or all that the local beach communities have to offer. In the evening wind down with dinner and live music overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or Indian River Bay at either Big Chill or Hammerheads, our two local restaurants.

The cottage has bikes, kayaks, beach chairs and so much more for our guests use. The cottage also has direct water access for guests to launch kayaks directly from the rental.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a great family meal or choose to grill on the deck overlooking the Bay. When the sun goes down and things move inside, its time to play games or cards with family and friends or enjoy a movie on one of the large smart TVs. The three season room with sofas, TV and game table provides a great space for kids to hang out.

The Cottage is a short drive to all of the area attractions including: Rehoboth, Dewey, Fenwick Island and Ocean City, MD beaches, outlet shopping, brewery tours, golf, boating, jet skiing, fishing, amazing food and restaurants and so much more!

Excellent views and short walk to the beach! Kitchen had almost all the essentials we needed to cook, plenty of dishes, pots/pans, there was even a crockpot! We loved using the kayaks and there were even infant and youth sized life vests for the little ones. The back deck needs some TLC, but it didn’t stop us from using it.

2nd year staying there in a row, great little spot in a amazing location. Starting to show a little wear and tear but overall nice. Back deck needs some tlc texture/stain coming up kept us from using it much this time. Didn’t rent again for next year just going to upgrade. But definitely would if looking for a place though!

The property was immaculate and furnished with a bright beachy vibe. The kitchen had everything we needed. The property was much larger than it appears. Sitting out on one of the two decks at sunset was a great way to begin the evening before playing a card game or heading out for some evening fishing on the floating dock-or crabbing. We were two families ages 1 to 71 and everyone was comfortable. Communication with the host was wonderful. It was great to be so close to the Inlet beach and also Bethany.

Beautiful location on the bay side. Lovely sunsets and wild birds in the bay. You feel like you’re staying in the middle of a sanctuary. Home was large and well stocked and beds were comfortable. There is nothing we needed. Lots of standard things you need are there. Hosts were very accommodating. Would stay here again.

Great time, perfect location! We spent a long weekend with three other adults who were visiting BBDE for the first time. The location was great for spending the day at any of the area beaches, plus the ocean beach is just a half mile walk from the cottage. The cottage is just as described and pictured. Really nicely renovated place with comfy furniture and everything you need for a beach trip. Beautiful scenery, walkable area. Great communication throughout the process. We'd definitely stay here again!

Beautiful spacious property with multiple rooms for lounging, relaxing and eating, plus two decks overlooking the Indian River Bay. We used the kayaks and bikes every day. Great spot for relaxing or for an active vacation. We also went under the US 1 bridge to the beach every day. Spotted lots of dolphins in the ocean and the bay, and it's a great spot for bird lovers with osprey, herons, terns, ducks and more outside the home at all times. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Everything worked very well. We liked being in the gated community for a quiet time. Easy to get into Bethany Beach or Dewey or Rehoboth.

Lovely property with terrific views of marshland, birds, water. We paddled with a provided kayak, biked with furnished bikes, and spent many happy hours on the back deck. Very helpful host, nicely designed house - everything super-clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Just what we needed for a quick trip to Bethany while visiting UofD. We had our teens with us and they were able to each find a corner. We’ve been coming for many years but are usually in a different area. Loved being close to town, restaurants, and beach. Home was very spacious and views were amazing to the marsh. House has bare minimum, which we expected so we needed to rent linens, towels. Although areas of the home have been clearly and beautifully updated, some areas need updating-pillows, deck, bikes, beach chairs/buggy. Power wash should be part of regular maintenance of porch/deck as birds love the area too. We weren’t able to be outdoors as much as we would have liked. Owner was quick and responsive to a few questions I had. We had a great time.

This house was perfect. It was spacious, clean, and very well equipped. The views of the marsh and bay were spectacular. It was so relaxing to sit on the back deck and watch the wildlife. It was a short walk to the beach and we enjoyed watching the fishermen along the way. We will definitely be coming back again.

Great weekend; great place to stay! Everything was as advertised. Jason was very helpful and prompt to reply to questions. No problem with check-in. Plenty to keep our teenagers occupied even though it was off season.

My friends and I had a wonderful time, despite the long weekend of cool temps and rain. We had all we needed and were very comfortable. Great communication with the hosts. One note... if you are like me and neglect to read the instructions before arriving, you must bring linens and bath towels with you or rent them. If you are like me and arrive at 8pm at night and figure this out, don't panic! The G&E Hocker's Supermarket in Bethany Beach sells cheap beach towels, 6 packs of dishclothes (for washclothes) and sheet sets for around 25-30 a piece (LOL).

Our family of four stayed here in the off season. The house was very roomy and we spent a lot of time on the deck bird watching. While the house is near route 1, you could not hear the highway and the surrounding neighborhood was quiet. Easy access to the beach, Bethany and nearby attractions. The kitchen was fully stocked but don’t forget towels and sheets. The beds did have pillows and comforters. Plenty of blankets too - it was chilly during some of our stay and we all used them. We would recommend this home.

What a lovely setting! Marsh views, gulls, terns, egrets, herons, pelicans, black birds, fish jumping in the marsh coves and rivulettes, stunning sunrises, quiet, peaceful, amazing. The entire places was clean, comfortable, and as expected.

We loved staying here, the layout was so spacious and very tidy. A few weird things overall though. It’s strange to have to bring your own sheets and towels. I’ve never had another place do that before. We did not think to bring a bathroom hand towel. They had kitchen towels but no bathroom hand towels. We had to use paper towels to dry our hands. That is not something I would think bring. Also items were very limited or only had a certain amount of something like 3 tide pods and 3 toilet paper rolls. They even only had the hand soaps filled a certain amount. It was very strange. Lastly, the most inconvenient thing was the main bathroom. The toilet was not pressurized and I even messaged the host about this but they never got back to me. I had to hand fill the toilet bowl container with water 3 times in order for it to flush because it would take forever for the water to fill up. That concern was not fixed so the host could work on communication.

Ideal vacation cottage!

We loved staying at this home. It had everything we needed, and was very relaxing. Don’t forget your binoculars (for some spectacular sea bird viewing) — actually we were able to watch a gorgeous heron right out the window! The owner was totally responsive: before, during and after our stay.
