The Loon House was lovely. Right on the water, "quiet" is an understatement. The calls by the loons were eerily beautiful. Very clean and cozy interior. So many extras inside. Mattresses were really comfortable. Fires at night were amazing. Aside from several rainy days, visiting the Loon House in Maine was awesome. Looking forward to a return trip next year.

I found this house after hours of searching through an abysmal selection of hotels in the Bar Harbor and Ellsworth areas. I don't do these STR's much because I had a bad experience with 1 in DFW awhile back. I was worried it was too far away from Acadia and you never know what you'll get in quality judging by the pictures. I can truly say this house was the best part of our trip! Very nice, clean and comfortable 3 story house on a great piece of lakeside land! The lake and the dock were so inviting, my son and I just had to jump on the kayaks even though it was 40 degrees outside. The grill and the fire pits were great! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. Beds were comfortable and the water was hot. I drive fast so we were less than 20 minutes outside of Ellsworth. I would definitely stay at this house again if I'm ever up that way again and highly recommend that you treat yourself to the experience!

We had a lovely time! Weather was perfect. I toured the lake in one of the kayaks. We enjoyed stunning night sky clarity. Saw and heard loons, great blue herons, ducks, heard owls. We explored the local trails (Frenchman Bay Conservancy has many lovely properties).The house is large, very well equipped, had everything we wanted and lots of things to do. The drive to Acadia National Park is short enough to make it ok for a few days visits.The one time we contacted the owner, he responded immediately. We love this house, and highly recommend it!

Awesome property with everything we needed. Kitchen, multiple showers, lots of beds and room options, even a desk for remote work. The kayaks were fun to use and the fire ring was perfect. We also loved the laundry.

Wonderful getaway 10/10

Had a wonderful time during our stay at the Loon House. We went kayaking fished in the lake, played cornhole, and air hockey. Fun family memories made at the Loon House.

Relaxation at its finest

This place was in a very nice relaxing setting. It was in proximity of many places to hike and experience the relaxation of Maine and MDI. House was clean and in a nice quiet and relaxing location. Would highly recommend staying here.

Second time at the Loon House!

Perfect Family Getaway

Wonderful property out of the way of the main hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Travel to mainstays are within 45-55 minutes. Loved the pond - plenty of time kaiaking and hanging with the ducks in the area. No shortage of memories to be made here - cannot recommend enough!

Maine escape

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The location of the house is perfect. The pond is wonderful, the area is quiet, and there’s lot of space outdoors to spread out and enjoy. The living area inside is on the small side but the bedrooms and screened porch are all good size.

Terrific Fishing

The location of this property is great! Really good fishing. The house is nice. It has everything you need. We shared this rental with 2 other couples, but there is no door on the one bedroom. This home is a great family vacation home.

For anyone reading this I want to assure you that both bedrooms have doors :) The house is listed as a 2 Bedroom, and their are 2 bedrooms with doors in the house. There is also a double bed in the loft-like room upstairs. In the description it says "double bed in the Upstairs loft-like Living Room area." A loft is always an open space. "Sleeps 4-5 upstairs, 2 in the master (on the first floor) and 1 toddler/infant fold-out couch/bed, movable to any room. There are 3 single beds in the Upstairs Bedroom and a double bed in the Upstairs loft-like Living Room area." I strive to make my listing as accurate as possible. I think these nice people just miss-read it or didn't understand what a loft is. I think the takeaway here is that if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I am easily reachable by email and/or phone and generally respond the same day,
