We only stayed two nights but felt right at home. It was a very clean, spacious solid house that had everything we needed. The home is very convenient for getting to Acadia. The fantastic book collection, handmade pottery, weavings and paintings were added bonuses!

This home truly felt like home. Lots of room and well equipped kitchen. Beautiful family paintings and dishes were all hand made pottery. Nicely located close to many amazing trails. Easy in and out! Bring your whole group, plenty of room!!

This is exactly what it feels like to go stay with family, except they're not home while you're there. The host is a lovely person and even was kind enough to remind us about ticks. Lots of personal touches that reflect the original owners, and their story is in the welcome binder. Everything you need to have a cozy stay. Plenty of kitchen supplies, towels, and full sized working appliances. No dishwasher, but you won't mind because the view out the kitchen window is amazing! So close to Acadia. Beautiful little town. Highly recommend this rental!

The place was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathrooms were large, washer and dryer were nice, and didn’t hear any complaints about the beds. It was a great vacation.

Hostess is quick, clear, and gracious in communication. House is spacious, lovely decorations. Mattresses are nice. Hundreds of books on the shelves made me want to stay an extra week to read. Location: great midway point between Schoodic and Acadia.

Host was easy to talk with and responded to our concerns in a timely manner. Talked to people in the neighborhood and said owner of property is very willingto assist with any issues also. House was very neat and clean. Even some kitchencondiments were available in pantry. We left more there when we checked out.

We were working nearby so we needed a two bedroom with three beds, this was more than adequate and nicely appointed. The rooms were clean and spacious and the home is well kept. Our only issue was an invasion of ants and gnats. They seemed to be everywhere, the host did everything possible to remediate the issue and we were thankful. By the end of our stay the issue was no longer a factor or concern. My only recommendation would be in room AC units as it was a bit warm. Thank you

Maine vacation

The house was great, well stocked kitchen and lots of books and games available The owner was very friendly and attentive. Location was great for visiting Acadia NP but also enjoyed exploring the local attractions and eateries.

What a beautiful, relaxing place to stay! We spent a rainy Easter weekend here with family, so we spent a little more time in the house than some folks might. All weekend long, people kept commenting, "They have everything you need here. You have thought of everything!" The house is quiet, and the extra doors make it possible to insulate some rooms a little more from sound, if needed. The artwork and pottery kept us looking and smiling. A beautiful place with very friendly, helpful hosts.

Loved the setting of the home with a beautiful view out one window of a creek meandering and another a church along with fall colors. All comforts of home were thought of to make the time there delightful. One of my favorite stays at a rental vacation home. Good location, within a hour of Acadia Park.

Wonderful

We had an amazing stay! The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and well stocked with everything we needed. After our days of exploring the Maine coast, it was the perfect place for our family to relax and unwind. This home is secluded but close to all the attractions. We especially loved the thoughtful touches the artwork and pottery throughout the home added so much charm and character. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to explore Maine.

Great home base for Downeast Maine exploration

This house is full of art, pottery, weavings, and a beautiful quilt. There were seven of us, and it was very comfortable and roomy. Lovely property and access to a lot of inland hikes and lakes for kayaking. The kitchen is well stocked for an array of meals. We loved it!

Another great stay at Hog Bay

This was our second stay at Hog Bay which speaks volumes! It's a great base for exploring Acadia and beyond. Even if the weather limits getting out and about the house is such a clean and comfortable place to rest and relax and you can still get to see plenty of birds and wildlife from the deck and windows. The hosts are lovely and incredibly responsive and helpful. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful retreat near Acadia

Beautifully situated property near a salt water marsh. Spacious and inviting. Easily fit a large family or close friends. The view in the mornings is breathtaking. Perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch. Close to Ellsworth and Acadia for water and hiking activities.
