This was a return visit this year. It is a charming little place perfect for some peace and quiet (although there is some highway background noise).
The highway is a couple miles away so it is not intrusive. If you like music, bring cd's or an Ipod. The radio is nice but the station selection is not. Be aware, in the colder months the wood stove leaves an odor in the place that we didn't care for and our clothes smelled of it.
Otherwise, no complaints. everything you need is provided and the bed is comfy.
I stayed here with my boyfriend for the weekend, for his birthday and our anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to recharge our batteries! The cottage was clean and comfortable, and ideally situated on acres of quiet forest. It was only a short convenient drive to hiking trails and local wineries. The owners provided a binder full of information about local attractions and restaurants, which we appreciated and used. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed ourselves at the Pond Cottage. It was so peaceful. My husband and I sat outside by the firepit a lot. It was very relaxing, just what we needed. The cottage itself was very clean. I liked how pamphlets were there of all the differant things to do in the area, that was a nice touch. We look forward to planning another trip there.
This was the perfect spot to get away! Quiet, country setting full of wildlife and privacy. Very clean cottage and well maintained property! We really enjoyed our stay!
The Pond Cottage is a beautifully restful place to unwind and breathe. No matter how busy you feel when you arrive, if you let yourself, you'll leave feeling rested, rejuvenated and ready to live life anew. Round out your stay by visiting the local wineries and canoeing the Grand River .
This was the perfect place to spend a weekend to rest, relax, read and enjoy all the sights and sounds of nature. The cottage was clean and well supplied . The grounds were well kept; the deck by the pond was my favorite spot. The furnishings were comfortable and down to earth. The quiet was amazing-no traffic sounds, no lawn mowers, so peaceful. A great choice for his birthday, my husband kept telling me.
