We have been visiting the Gulf Shores area for many years. We have two boys and one granddaughter. We all love the beach and fishing. We have always dreamed of owning a house in the area.We are only about 4 hours away so are able to visit frequently...look forward to sharing our dream

Cheryle/Owner purchased this house in 2009

Why Cheryle/Owner chose Gulf Shores East

We were on vacation at the home across the street and loved the neighborhood so much we decided this is where we wanted our vacation home to be. Purchased this home in 2009, purchased a home two lots over in 2013 and built a new home between the two in 2015.

What makes this house unique

Home is located on a quite street.Ideal for families. In an area where pets are also welcome. They are allowed on the beach as long as they are on a leash. The house has open lots on one side and in back which provides great views. We own the two homes next to this one great for weddings and reunions.

Great Beach House

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for a week with our dog. Everyone had a great time on the beach - which was not crowded at all. Short drives to restaurants and to Fort Morgan were also nice. The house itself is exactly what you want from a beach house, and the deck was an awesome place to hang out. Will definitely be coming back.

Best time ever during a tropical storm

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and had probably 3 days of sun and ocean. The rest of time there was a tropical depression and it rained off and on for 4 days and the wind blew. Went to beach twice every day in the rain and wind. Found amazing pieces of shells and the temperature was perfect. Enjoyed playing in the street in shallow flood water with children. The house had everything we needed and then some. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Such a child and dog friendly neighborhood. You must rent this for your next vacation.

Terrific home, relaxing area and wonderful private beach!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great vacation at Maw-maws and will return again! Very comfortable, clean home just a few steps from the beautiful beach. Enjoyed our coffee on the porch in the mornings and the quiet at night. The area was family oriented and nice and quiet. We did enjoy dinner at Sassy Bass and got fresh fish to BBQ at Behind the Pines. Both were great ! Everyone said it was the best vacation we have taken as a family. All 3 bedrooms were spacious and clean.we were even able to bring our fur baby who loved it all as well! Good house. Check it out!

Needs some attention...

  • 2 of 5

I wouldn't say I was disappointed, there were just things that should have been kept up better. Such as the grass to let our fur babies out was super tall until mid week of our stay. Also, there were tons of little bugs everywhere in the house to the point we felt itchy sitting on the couch at night. The pictures on the website are old and there is now a house very close next store. We had to put a towel up in the shower, because you can definitely see right in the window! Just wasn't what we were hoping for the money. All and all the beach was beautiful. There was plenty of beach toys, and other extra stuff that was accommodating.

Owner's Response: We welcome all reviews to our property which helps us improve our property for future guest. We also encourage all guest to notify us immediately of any problems encountered during their stay. The grass is cut only close to the home at rare intervals because we are in a protected conservation area that helps protect the endangered beach mouse, we provided this information in the welcome book at the home, this is a requirement of the Fish and Wildlife, please bear with us on this as it helps protect the dunes in the area. We are in a tropical environment but we have regular pest treatment, the house was treated two weeks prior and the guest at that time reported no problems, however if food is left out gnats and " no see 'ems" as we call them will tend to come inside especially if it has been a rainy or damp for few days which it had been this week. The bathroom window has a louver over it that is partially open but can easily be closed if guest feels it does not over sufficient privacy. As always please feel free to contact us at any time with question or concerns about our property.

Great Memories

  • 5 of 5

Our multi-generation family of 9, enjoyed our stay here very much. The house, while small for this amount of guest, was very well laid out. We were not uncomfortable at all. The covered deck was a definite plus, as was the concrete pad under the house with the outside shower for hosing down after a day on the beach. The house was clean, comfortable and well furnished including a few toys for the kids and beach gear. The area is quiet and we had a lot of empty beach to enjoy. The sand was absolutely beautiful! One word of caution...watch out for the sand burs! Over heard a lot of "Next time we come's..", so I know everyone had a great time. Thank you Cheryl for being there every time we had a question. Everything was awesome!

A place of history, leisure and nature, the Fort Morgan peninsula extends like a long finger west of Gulf Shores, Alabama. If you're looking to get away from crowded beach bars and tacky souvenir shops, this section of the Alabama Gulf Coast is a good option. Much of the peninsula is part of a protected wildlife refuge, but many beachfront accommodations are available. You may have to drive to Gulf Shores to pick up major supplies, but it's well worth that small hassle to experience these pristine, sparkling sugar-white sands on your beach vacation.
