It was a gathering of our family to celebrate out 50th anniversary and it was the perfect place to do so. The home is beautiful, very tidy, well supplied and the groundsare park-like with a beautiful river view. We had a wonderful time, especially enjoying a special dinner at the Inn at Willow Grove...truly memorable week-end with thoughtsof returning!

Our family of 12 made the most of this lovely home! The owners are quick to answer any questions and were helpful with a few glitches we had that were of no fault of anyone! We would definitely recommend this home for a larger family gathering!

This property deserves all of the 5-star reviews it’s gotten. Communication with the hosts was great — they answered questions beforehand about provided amenities which made for efficient packing. We were a group of 11 high school friends gathering for a reunion. The house and property are truly amazing. It was particularly well-suited for a group like ours, made up of some couples (king beds) and some singles (twin beds). Having all 4 bathrooms accessible outside of bedrooms is particularly helpful. The kitchen was the best equipped rental kitchen I’ve ever experienced. We cooked pretty elaborate meals and never wanted for anything. Even their knives were sharp!The grounds are lovely and worth exploring. The twinkle lights are magical. Local vineyards and hiking provided some daytime fun. We wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend, 10/10!Thoughtful details: night lights, binoculars, campfire tools (popcorn popper, marshmallow sticks), huge vinyl record collection, well-appointed bar, game room, wood-splitting tools and limitless firewood, paper goods, cleaning supplies, toiletries, towels.

Great property with a lot for all ages. This is likely the most well equipped house we have ever stayed in, it is more like a home than a rental. From games to fishing poles to unlimited firewood to horseshoes to puzzles that are all oddly missing just one piece the Madison House has it all. The river and the fishing pond give you days of things to do without ever getting in your car.

This home is extraordinary! My family was in the area for a wedding and we could not have found a more perfect Vrbo. It was clean, welcoming, well-appointed and... the views!!! We feel really lucky that we found this house and were fortunate to have stayed there. 10 out of 10 - highly recommend.tip: the host says now to use Waze for directions, but don't use AppleMaps either. Both take you to the wrong side of the river. GoogleMaps works best in this beautiful part of Virginia!

What an awesome home and grounds! The kitchen was so well stocked- everything we needed! The bedrooms were comfortable and the views were truly amazing. The property itself is so well thought out- spaces for everyone to enjoy- we would love to come in the summer and enjoy the river more. Great Family Vacation

The property was great. The children enjoyed the game room, the large yard, the fishing pond and the river. The adults loved the gorgeous view and the 5-star amenities. Highly recommend.

There are lots of activities to do just staying on the property. Hikes, horseshoes, a giant swing, or just relax and take in the beautiful scenery. The record collection was awesome!

Incredible views, great for a weekend getaway

Booked this property for a weekend girls getaway. The view off the back deck is incredible! It only took us about 15 min to get to 3 different wineries we were interested in visiting. We had no complaints and would recommend this home to others!

Lovely home and great vacation location near DC area. House is fabulous with wonderful views. Kitchen is very well stocked, dining and living area are both spacious and inviting, bedrooms are comfortable and bathrooms are nicely appointed. Bonus rooms are fun and useful. This is a truly amazing vacation home. The property and house are beautiful and the thoughtful extra touches make it a very special place—Hammocks, swings, fire pits, outdoor games, golf cart , indoor games and a truly wonderful sunroom with a great record collection! Highly recommend!

A perfect escape!

Our friend group booked the Madison home for a weekend getaway to reconnect and escape the hustle of the city. The home was beyond perfect and met every expectation. Waking up to the stunning views of the mountains and the river, walking around the property to explore, building fires and cooking together in a well stocked kitchen took up our weekend. We look forward to returning next year and hope to make visiting a yearly tradition.
