Located on an 11-acre farm with a natural pond in the midst of Central Virginia’s wine country, Spotswood Lodge (circa 1788) is a sanctuary for all who visit. Originally a farmhouse, Spotswood Lodge is filled with rustic charm & elegance. This expansive property is convenient to the historic towns of Orange, Gordonsville, Barboursville & Charlottesville. Enjoy exclusive private access to this beautiful property by renting Spotswood Lodge (sleeps 12) and the accompanying Cottage (sleeps 8). Positioned conveniently between the adorable historic towns of Orange, Gordonsville and Barboursville, the Cottage at Spotswood Lodge is the ideal location to make the most of your vacation. Central Virginia has so much to offer visitors: James Madison’s Montpelier, Barboursville & Early Mountain Vineyards, Shenandoah National Park, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and the University of Virginia. In addition, there are a surprising number of adorable shops and quality restaurants in the Main Street Towns of Orange & Gordonsville (within 10-20 minutes of the Cottage at Spotswood) and The Market at Grelen’s European Style Garden Shop & Cafe, six miles of free walking trails and pick-your-own farm are divine and not to be missed! IMPORTANT: The booking will be confirmed after we receive an e-signature on The Spotswood Lodge Housing Contract, via email. PETS: Pets (dogs only) are allowed with written permission and an extra fee of $50/per pet.

Leslie & Dan Gregg, the owners and founders of Grelen Nursery and the Market at Grelen, have spent years purchasing and restoring properties in Central Virginia. They are passionate about the area and creating "experiences" for those visiting Orange County.
The Market at Grelen Events & Properties Team manages Spotswood Lodge. Spotswood Lodge was completely gutted and renovated in 2014 and the grounds were re-landscaped. Everyone involved in this project love helping people enjoy the area. There is so much to do in Orange County and the surrounding counties and we are happy to help you plan a fun weekend and/or week in the area! The charm of an old farmhouse, adjacent cottage, the raw grounds and the natural beauty of the area is what drew the Grelen owners to Spotswood Lodge. In addition, the property complimented The Market at Grelen's growing event business. Having renovated many other homes together, they took on the challenge and used their landscaping expertise and love for historic preservation and design to renovate this old farm house and cottage into the magical place it is today.

Spotswood Lodge is special! It was re-designed with group weekends in mind. Around every corner there is a comfortable place to relax and create a celebratory moment with friends and loved ones. Like The Market at Grelen, there are unique and creative elements throughout the decor that make it a very enjoyable and pleasant place to stay. Set in a mini valley, the idyllic 11-acre property, complete with a pond, is gorgeous inside and out. Guests will enjoy the Central Virginia rolling hills, mountains and landscape an amazing place to reflect and refresh. We welcome you to visit us at the Market at Grelen during your stay and ask us about our chef, who is available to cater private meals throughout your stay with us.
