For winter guests as evenings can sometimes be cool in Dec/Jan... heat in every room.... fireplace in Living room .. so very cozy... We have everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as we like to be. This is our home in San Miguel and we only rent it out for times when we are away..usually in the summer...or the odd weeks when we travel elsewhere. With the courtyard set well back...this home is extremely quiet and will offer undisturbed sleeps....well...except for nights when there are fireworks... but as they say in Mexico...why would you listen. Wonderful, comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this casita. It has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, 2 lovely bedrooms each with private bath. We were so comfortable , we felt right at home and could have stayed forever. Great location. Viky the maid is a lovely woman and took amazing care of us. I highly recommend it.

Fabulous, quintessential San Miguel de Allende home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for two months in Jan/Feb 2014. Having rented out my own house and rented out houses all over the world, I'm a pretty tough reviewer. This house far exceeded out expectations. We arrived and all was ready for us. Neighbors and friends of the owners stopped by to see if we needed anything. The maid came regularly and what a treat to have everything so well taken care of. The house was cleaned, sheets changed, plants all watered. Ah, I could get used to that! The kitchen is the best equipped for a rental that I've ever seen. Normally, when I go into a house, several things are lacking. A salad spinner or garlic press, good can opener or even sharp knives. This is a kitchen that the owners use themselves and since they love to cook, they have it fitted out for anything you can think you want to make. We really got into cooking while we were there and appreciated that we didn't have to do without any kitchen tools. I also just love the layout of the house. The inner courtyard is shaded and full of flowers and was wonderful for alfresco dining or just hanging out reading during the day. Once I discovered the roof top garden, I was up there taking a nap or daydreaming every day. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath arrangement allows for guests but also good separation so you're not in each others way. The living room is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished and has all the electronics one could hope for and good internet as well. Again, so many times living rooms in rentals look good in photos but are totally uncomfortable to hang around in. The dining room/living room arrangement just off the courtyard allows for a nice flow if you have guests, as we did, or just for yourselves. Bright, sunny interiors abound. Not dark as so many houses in San Miguel can be. And, the house is heated the best in town I think. We were there in Jan/Feb, which can be cold at that elevation, and with heaters literally in every room, we never were cold. Again, I know people who have rented in San Miguel in the winter and frozen to death and been paying a fortune to do so too! Hmm, what else? Oh, the location! We found ourselves to be right in Centro so an easy walk to everything, which is the best. We were in the middle of it all but also in a surprisingly quiet and very safe neighborhood. I can't recommend it enough. Next time we plan on going to San Miguel, we will hopefully be one of the lucky ones who gets this treasure of a house to live in.

A real treasure!

Denis and Patti's home is elegant and inviting. There are a variety of comfortable spaces to enjoy.. The quiet, cool patio just inside the beautiful art lined hallway; or a little sunshine on the plant filled rooftop terrace with a lovely view of Centro ,, ... And of course the open living/dining area again with some beautiful artwork and tasteful furniture

The furniture throughout the house is very comfortable,, my favourite being the comfy couches in the living room with the gas fireplace for those few chilling nights. The living /dining area gets some beautiful lighting in the afternoons through the large arched glass doors leading into the area. The house is well equipped with everything I needed especially the kitchen for anyone who likes to entertain and the house is a great place to do that.. Easy to have a band playing out on the patio and people milling around the living/dinning area and large patio

The bedrooms have fantastic beds/ bedding.. If you have travelled thru other parts of mexico you will understand why I note this! They are both comfortable, roomy and well decorated with their own bathrooms/shower which is great if you are sharing the house

I loved the location.. Everything you need closeby but for those who love to explore, a walk through all of San Miguel is a must, a few hills and half an hour walk from 19 Nunez will get you to the amazing botanical gardens overlooking San Miguel

My experience was great, it felt like a home away from home not just a place to stay. The owners, Denis and Patti were most helpful in answering any questions I had They are quite involved in the community in many ways so are a wealth of information if you are interested. As well, their delightful housekeeper Vicki who comes three times a week was so kind and helpful, especially kind to tolerate my very bad Spanish!

I was lucky enough to stay in this lovely home more than once .. December 2013 and back for two months March and April 2014. Please note the system did not allow. Me to enter my correct dates as I am late writing this review )
