About this property

The Okra Inn Iberville Half House-3BR, 2BA, Streetcar In Sight (4017)

THE SPACE

The Okra Inn is a historic, renovated camelback house in the lively Mid City area on the Canal Streetcar line. The Inn features 11 foot ceilings throughout, original pocket doors, beautiful crown molding, a living room, dining room, two full bathrooms, a front porch, back balcony, back patio and our own blend of artsy charm. The house contains a kitchen stocked with cooking basics.

The house overall holds two units, divided by owner-locked doors, and this listing is for half of the double house. All of the indoor spaces mentioned in this listing are private to your group; you will have keys to your front door and will not share indoor space with anyone. Please note however that there may be another group renting the other half of the house and you may see them on the porches or back patio, and you may hear muffled voices through the interior doors.

The decor strives to be a cozy, funky version of classic New Orleans, with kitsch alongside original art, elegance alongside a feeling of homey comfort. We want the house to be clean and pleasant, but without a sense that guests should be afraid to touch anything.

We strive to be pet-friendly. However, please send a message before booking if you are planning to bring pets.

Your space includes:
* Three bedrooms
* Two queen size beds

HOUSE RULES AND IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE BOOKING

We do allow pets at our discretion. However, please inquire before booking if you are planning to bring a pet.

Please inquire before booking if your group is a bachelor(ette) party. While we are happy to host these groups, we ask that they do not have any party events in the house, and that decoration is kept to a minimum.

Firearms are strictly prohibited. Active duty military and law enforcement officers may contact us at the time of booking regarding possible exceptions to this policy. Any exceptions will be granted at our sole discretion.

Smoking is not allowed in the house but is allowed on front and back porches.

We have noise monitors installed on the property to comply with the City of New Orleans short term rental hosting requirements.

We do feel strongly about being respectful of neighbors. We ask that guests watch noise levels outside of the home after 10pm on weeknights and after 11pm on weekends; this is especially important in the back patio/balcony area, which is close to neighbor's bedrooms. We do not allow any outside guests to stay past these hours. In general, please ask before your stay if you are planning on hosting any sort of gathering.

We do not allow guests to use grills or other open flames, for safety reasons.
