The host was so friendly, the location to Tulane is so convenient walking distance and the area is very quiet with the comfiest bed. Highly recommend for a relaxing visit with everything you need. Plenty of seating areas, living room and dining, and a full kitchen.

Lovely and conveniently located

The location is very convenient, walking distance to Tulane, which is what we were looking for. Also walking distance to the St. Charles street car, making it easy to get into the French Quarter without having to drive downtown. Would stay here again, for sure.

A lovely stay

Melinda was warm and welcoming and the neighborhood perfect for our visit to Tulane. The house is cute and Melinda’s landscaping skills very evident in the pretty front garden!

Perfect for our needs

The location was wonderful. We were able to easily walk to Tulane and the streetcar to get to other locations. The space was clean and the bed comfortable. I loved the charm of the claw-foot tub. Will definitely keep this on our list for our return trips.

Very good location and a very nice hostess

We had an enjoyable stay at this VRBO. The hostess is very nice and available for assistance. There is a minor issue for older persons as the bath tub is hard to get in and out.

Great location! Beautiful home.

Close to restaurants on Carrollton and a short drive to Magazine, St Charles and the Quarter. Melinda is a wonderful host. Great tips for parking and enjoying Mardi Gras and all that New Orleans has to offer. Safe, quiet neighborhood. The local kitties are a nice bonus!

Wonderful home with character near Tulane

This shotgun home is spotless. The owner is very responsive and helpful. The beds super comfortable and it is very quiet at night. If you are visiting Tulane the location cannot be beat. We were seeing all the tourist sites in NOLA and found it easy to do from here.

A little slice of peace

During a hectic weekend, Melinda opened up her great place for us to stay. Everything was as described, clean and in a city that can be known for knowing how to have a good time, her place was a little slice of peace. Great neighborhood. Great hospitality. Fabulous stay

This was the perfect house for our college drop-off! The property is lovely, clean and close to so many things. Melinda was a joy of a host. She’s right there if you need anything or want to hang out in the garden and chat, but she isn’t intrusive at all if you aren’t interested in that. We will definitely stay here in the future!

Quiet neighborhood, comfortable stay

Very nice accommodations, especially the lovely beds. Could have wished for more supplies in the kitchen & a better arrangement of them (not heavy plates overhead). The intro photo doesn’t do justice to the pretty bare woodwork & high beds which highlight the rooms.

Clean, quiet stay in great location

We loved staying in this house. The location was perfect. This is my favorite area in New Orleans. The house is tucked away at the end of a quiet, peaceful street, but still close walking distance to several restaurants and coffee shops. Also very close to Tulane, Loyola, Audubon Park and the St. Charles Streetcar. The house was super clean and comfortable. We felt safe, and parking was easy. Had everything we needed, with the added bonus of the “authentic New Orleans-feel”. We will definitely be back!

Perfect location

I've always stayed in the French Quarter in the past, but after staying in this part of town I'm sold on Uptown for sure. The property owner obviously takes pride in her beautiful property. Very clean, super comfy beds, tranquil green space. Plus, it's a quiet, cozy, small town feel neighborhood. Everybody we encountered, neighbors, were so kind and accommodating. Great little night life scene just a short walk on Oak. You're right next to a picturesque New Orleans cemetery to boot. When I travel to New Orleans again, I'm gonna try like hell to book this particular property.

I have loved New Orleans since the moment I laid eyes on it which is part of the charm being a true New Orleanian!!

My parents were born and raised here as well and I was fortunate to have been offered to buy the family home my Dad grew up in so this little shotgun has a special piece of my heart.

I attended Loyola University just a few blocks away and worked in the hospitality industry as a wedding & event planner for 15 years. I know all the secrets our city has to offer and would love to share them with you.

I believe that creating a space for guests in my home involves more than providing a comfortable place to sleep; it's an opportunity to make them feel welcome and ensure that their time spent with me is memorable. If a guest needs anything I am right next door and am happy to lend a helping hand. Sitting in my backyard with guest sipping some Coffee & Chicory in the mornings is very enjoyable so bring your favorite PJ's! No make-up required!

Anyone who has been to New Orleans knows that it is a unique, remarkable, one-of-a-kind city. Carrollton is a part of New Orleans that is uptown from the French Quarter. It is on higher ground than the area of New Orleans that was damaged in the Katrina hurricane, so Carrollton went undamaged. Carrollton is at the end of the St. Charles streetcar line and the other end is Canal Street. Carrollton is home to Tulane University and Loyola University. Many University employees reside in Carrollton including professors, teachers and students. They patronize the many businesses and restaurants that are nearby because this is a mixed residential/commercial neighborhood. Carrollton's location is a 20 minute drive to the French Quarter. Carrollton has many interesting restaurants, shops and music venues, the French Quarter is generally a more touristy area. Carrollton was incorporated in 1833 and still has much of the same Victorian residential architecture. Some of the historical sites in Carrollton are Old Carrollton City Hall and Palmer Park, which has a craft fair on the last Saturday of the month. This event is called the Arts Market of New Orleans and features live music also. Residents and tourists find this event to be great fun. You can check out some of the area's attractions at:
