Nice place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a week in September. We really enjoyed staying here. We didn't end up using the lake, because we were busy all day, but we really liked the house. It had many beds to choose from and it felt homey. It had everything that you would need. We would stay there again!

Awesome lake house with more space than expected!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for a weekend trip with friends. More space than expected with the full finished basement. Comfortable beds and a NICE futon on the lower floor. Wish we stayed longer to have more time on the lake.

Lovely cottage, great for families

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 had a wonderful week at this house. This isn't a luxury house, nor priced as one. But it is a comfortable place, clean, provided everything we needed, and more. A great place for a reasonably priced vacation.

Eat-in kitchen, 2 bedrooms & bathroom on main entry floor, plus upstairs room has 4 beds, and downstairs TV room has futon couch/bed. We didn't need all the beds, only 4 of us, but this is great place for families with several kids. With a washer & dryer, we didn't have to pack so many clothes as we could wash them during our stay. Kids were happy about provided wifi (we found 3 different wifi codes in the house, one of them was the right one). They even had a handful of DVDs.

In addition to the table & chairs on the deck, there is a table on a patio and chairs around a firepit. Great for evening bbq (gas grill also provided) and making s'mores. The walk down to private dock/swimming area is, as advertised, a steep walk with about a flight of stairs, so it is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Also provided were some peddle boats and 2 kayaks. We had a great time on the kayaks and in the water.

The Maine Attraction restaurant is very close. It has decent food and great ice cream. Old Sturbridge Village is not too far away, and other restaurants and shops can be found in Sturbridge. On the one rainy day we had, took a longer drive out to RIverton, CT to a hands on glass blowing workshop (http://www.petergreenwood.com/). It is about 1.5 hours drive, but it was well worth it, one of the highlights of our trip.

I highly recommend this place, and if we come back to the northeast, we probably will try to stay here again.
