It was small but a nice size for our family of three on a long weekend (three nights). It's an easy walk to where the tour boats depart and to some restaurants. Instructions for self check in were clear and the host texted to check in. On the main road into town, but set back and there's not a lot of traffic. Road noise wasn't an issue.

The Downtown Cottage was the perfect home base for my wife and my visit to Munising and the Pictured Rocks lakeshore along Lake Superior. We wanted a central location to easily access day hiking trips to the many waterfalls, trails, and beaches along Pictured rocks. We also wanted to be able to walk to restaurants, breweries, and other points of interest in Munising after our hikes. The Cottage met all our expectations. Clean, comfortable, and excellent linens/ bedding. We easily navigated all of the waterfalls and trails in the area between Au Train and Sable Point and Sable Falls. We walked to Earl E. Byrds for breakfast and Tracey’s, Eh! Burger, Life on the Rocks, and Barge Inn for evening fare along with short drives to The Brownstone Inn and Foggy’s Steakhouse. We also walked to board the Pictured Rocks sunset cruise from the local marina - it was spectacular! The communication with the owner, Lisa, was informative and excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Munising and our beautiful hikes throughout Pictured Rocks! Thank you Lisa, and we will see you again in the future!

The place was cute and cozy. It was very conveniently located too. Host did allow us an early check in which was helpful as we drove from lower MI and were estimating arrival and made better timing than we anticipated. Family loved the DQ across the street too.

The cottage was very nice and a good place to use as a base of operations. Parking was a little wonky but worked fine and the neighbors were very friendly when we asked to confirm we were ok. The cleanup instructions were just a bit over the top. We've never been asked to strip beds before. Overall, it was a nice place to stay while we visited this beautiful area!

Just to clarify, we provide detailed parking instructions in the information sent to guests prior to arrival, and the parking is conveniently located right in front of the cottage for easy access.Regarding the cleanup instructions, we understand that stripping the beds may not be a common request for every guest. However, it is a standard practice we have implemented to help maintain the cottage for future visitors. Very cute cottage that suited our needs perfectly. We cooked meals inside and on the grill outside. We could walk two blocks to Pictured Rocks Cruises and a short drive to more than 3 waterfalls. We could park right near the entrance and keep our shoes in foyer to keep sand out. There was a park within walking distance for the kids. We would stay again.

Perfect location for exploring Pictured Rocks

My husband and 12 year old daughter stayed there for 3 nights while we explored Pictured Rocks. This is definitely a crash pad and worked well for getting a quick breakfast before going exploring.
