This Pet Friendly classic 4 bedroom / 2.5 bath beach house is located just 7 blocks from downtown Folly and sits directly across the street from the beach with a full length deck sporting awesome ocean views. For those of you looking for the real deal tropical getaway you found it here with that ultimate Folly statement of a palm tree growing right through the deck. Current owners are constantly upgrading and decided to keep the signature Palmetto Palm when they remodeled the deck in 2020 with all new railings, structure, and comfy resort style deck furniture. Like most guests you’ll spend lots of time out here taking in the ocean views and the salty air while creating memories. There is ample seating for relaxing and casual dining…. or switch your chair to recliner mode and catch a snooze to the sound of the waves and shore birds chirping. In a recent survey FollyTude was voted THE BEST NON-OCEANFRONT HOUSE with an OCEAN VIEW ON FOLLY BEACH…(**Disclaimer**OK so the survey participants were me, my wife, and our dog... but I would bet my last beer in the cooler that if the audience was larger they would come to the same conclusion !! ).

Inside, the open floor plan combines the cozy living room – sun porch with views to the ocean deck together with the dining room and kitchen that allow for easy communal gatherings. Its so open you can even see the ocean through the back door of the kitchen! With plenty of windows you have sun at every hour of the day …..

Beach cottage style resonates with bead board walls and ceilings as the backdrop for the country kitchen island, country buffet cabinet , and the family style dining table all set up for your perfect getaway. Coastal art work décor galore lets you know you’re not in Ohio any more. There is a back screened- in porch off the kitchen that serves as another gathering space that has a washer dryer closet, and that critical but often forgotten beach house amenity – A SECOND REFRIGERATOR. Some call it a “Beer Fridge," but it can just as easily hold the racks of ribs you are marinating for grilling after a day at the beach, or week’s worth of Aunt Esther’s casserole pans….. No matter what you use it for just know that Follytude has tons of space for your chilled needs.

Bedrooms include a king master with a four poster bamboo frame that is sure to enhance your seaside slumber. Master has its own half-bath as well. There are 2 queen bedrooms and a charming twin bunkroom -great for kids or adults that share 2 full baths. The main hallway bath was gutted and upgraded February 2023 with all new tile, fixtures and glass shower. All of the beds have comfy mattresses, plump pillows, and 5-star hotel grade linens.

Outside there's a grassy yard for the kids and pooches to romp around in. and off the back porch door stairs there is a new fenced in pen for Fido to get the wiglles out and take care of his business in a contained environment. A shaded area beneath the front deck with hammocks allows you to sway away in the shade the hours after a great day at the beach. You’ll love the outdoor shower to wash away the salt and sand before grilling on the deluxe gas grill. We also provide 8 beach chairs and towels for your beachside comfort…

Location-wise you couldn’t be in a better spot. You are right across from the beach and the walkover beach access is just a few houses down. This stretch of E. Arctic Ave is far less traveled and it’s a one-way street so it’s much less busy than other places on Folly. And you’ll love the short walk into Center Street and all the bars and restaurants Folly is famous for. Side bonus too – I live a few blocks down the street so I’m super close if you need anything. Plus you may see me on the beach scribing in my journal or nursing a cold Coors Light ( … or two) . I’ve been known to share, except when it’s the last beer in the cooler.

There is also a family park just a few blocks away that has a Kids Playground (Pirate's Cove), and a Basketball Court, Tennis Court, and a Dog Park so Fido can go sniff out what the other vacationing canines have been up to.

Let’s not forget Folly’s legendary Bert’s Market just 4-1/2 blocks away where 24x7 you can get whatever food / sundries you may need, or slake your thirst in the Lowcountry’s best beer cave, watch the locals drift in, and get your favorite sandwich made on the spot at their Wooden Spoon Deli. And For those 3am munchies there’s a freezer full of Ben & Jerry’s (did somebody say Phish Food???). Across from Bert’s is your closest watering hole called Chico Feo, which has the best island vibe out of any bar on Folly. In fact they are so island vibe they don’t even have a ROOF! ….If its sunny-- go there, enjoy a cold one with a taco, and some great local live music. If it’s raining --they close. Pretty simple, which is how we like it on Folly, and this gem of a house called FollyTude is simply your best play for an affordable OCEAN VIEW family style getaway practically on the beach. And now for the legal –type stuff: The home is located in a quiet residential section of Folly Beach and we do not allow parties or events. Folly has strict noise ordinance rules and is really cracking down with fines. So you if you want a house party don’t book here. Residential District QUIET HOURS are from 10pm-9am with no loud voices or amplified music inside or out. FollyTude is strictly NON SMOKING and allows a maximum of 8 guests with 4 off street parking spaces. Pets are OK --max 3 dogs--with owner approval and a separate Pet Fee of $200(non refundable). We require all guests to sign our standard 2-Page South Carolina Short Term Rental Agreement which includes all the house and Folly Beach rules. We strongly recommend guests purchase TRIP INSURANCE which can protect you from last minute travel changes due to health, family, weather, or employment issues..…Hope to see you here soon!
