About this property
That Corner Lot-Charming Downtown Home w/Side Yard
This property is a true treasure! Not only do our guests get the entire home, but also an attached side yard. Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located historic home. Only a block away from Troy’s beloved downtown store fronts, restaurants, and frequent events! Our home is nestled close to the train tracks in Troy, though it is very faint when inside the home, we have provided noise machines for light sleepers.
Our Historic home holds much of its original charm. Built in 1890, it still hosts its original hardwood in many of the rooms. We are happy to note a newly updated and completely renovated Kitchen, with garbage disposal and hood vent, as well as updated furnishings in the lower room of the home. The large windows throughout the home provide beautiful natural light during the day, and our window shades provide adequate privacy.
Part of the historic charm to our home is readily available street side parking. There are at least 10 spots in front of our home, and multiple within a blocks distance.
We are happy to communicate with our guests via cell phone or messenger. We love to offer a more "hands off" experience, so that your stay is more vacation oriented.
We are tucked amidst Troy's Historic District. This offers a beautiful view of Historical architecture, all while sitting in our fenced in side yard, or a casual stroll around town. We have street side parking in front of our home, often, you can simply pull into a space, however on busy weekends, you might need to parallel park.
Most everything you need, is a block or two from our front steps. Coffee is across the street, several nice restaurants, one fabulous diner, and a fun Juicery that serves healthy lunches and smoothies, is just around the corner.
Local grocery stores are a quick drive in your car, but most will deliver to our front door!

Our side yard is completely fenced in, which makes it perfect for pets and littles. We hope this is a space you and your family can enjoy. We have provided ample seating outdoors (as well as a hammock) for relaxing stays. Additionally, there is a paved back patio area for an outdoor dining experience.
Our dear friends, and fellow co-hosts are across the fence, as well as close friends who frequently walk the neighborhood with their pets. Be sure to wave and say hello! They are kind and thoughtful people.

The home was charming, very close to town, and in a walkable, safe neighborhood. The side yard was beautiful and well maintained. The interior was cozy, though some of the furniture showed light wear. The kitchen was spotless and well stocked with everything we needed. Overall, a wonderful stay—I would definitely consider staying here again!
The house was clean and in a great location! The host was super friendly and answered any questions promptly- the host also made sure we had parking during a festival that was going on!
This historic home was the perfect place for us to stay! Lots of extra's were supplied like K-cups for the Keurig and toothbrushes if you accidentally forgot yours! Location is ideal for evening walks to restaurants or coffee shops.
We had such a wonderful stay at your cozy home! It was the perfect home away from home while I settled my son into his apt so he can attend Hobart. We will be back!
My family traveled for the eclipse and we all (ages 77-13) loved it. They house is beautiful, the side yard a great pace, and even the neighbors were wonderful and friendly. 100% would stay again.
This was my second stay here, it's such a welcoming and cozy spot. Was able to visit with my son and get away for a nice weekend. The concert in the square was fantastic, and all the recommended restaurants were delicious 😋
Highly recommend!
Great location, right near the town square. The house was clean and well kept. Very doggie friendly with a fenced in yard and even dog bowls. My daughter loved the bedroom across the hall from us. The chairs in the yard were well used by me and an old friend. We spent hours out there catching up. It really is a lovely home with easy in and out and a kind and responsive owner. Thank you!
The house was clean and comfortable, the fenced yard was great for our dog. Our host Augusta was very easy to contact and very accommodating. Out son plans to live in the area so we will be coming back to Troy. Also the house is in walking distance to to downtown.
The Corner Lot was like living in Troy again. Restaurants, coffee shops, and stores were 5 minute walks,at our leisure. The side yard was great for enjoying wine and the weather.
Way better than any hotel in the area. We had an extended stay and couldn't have imagined staying in a regular hotel. Super convenient to everything in the area. Very responsive to all our questions and went above and beyond to provide an extra monitors for me so I could be more efficient working remotely. Very happy we stayed here.
We and another couple decided a nice little getaway to Ohio was the perfect 25th Anniversary trip. We booked this house in Troy for the second half of the adventure. Wow, what a great little downtown. This house was perfect in every way. Easy walking to the square, relaxing evenings on the front porch, and comfortable beds. Love this house!.
Thank you,
Jeff and Carol
It was well appointed and decorated so cutely. Short walking distance to a very charming downtown. For our short stay we very much appreciated that we didn't need to bring paper goods. Augusta has thought of everything to make her guests feel welcomed. The fresh flowers upon our arrival were a lovely touch. Loved the fenced yard for our furbabies.
We chose this property due to its close proximity to a funeral and family residences in the area. It is a cozy and well equipped home as we were able to have some family dinners there with just a few groceries. The beds and linens are very comfortable and we slept nicely. The hosts are attentive and go above and beyond for their guests. We hope next time we can stay for a happier occasion.
This is an awesome big Airbnb in the cutest location! It’s definitely an old and historic house with a lot of character. The beds are huge. There are extra portable fans in everyone room if needed and air mattresses available. The air mattress was a very nice one and plugs directly into the wall and had its own sheets with it which was so nice and well thought out. If we had more time we would have loved to enjoy the awesome yard more. The location is awesome we could walk to everything downtown.
We came for the weekend for a wedding found this little gem of a place. First of all location was great located near restaurant's and downtown. The home was so cute kept its historical charm with modern updates. The huge side yard was awesome. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows. House was stocked well with anything we would have needed. A bottle of wine and chocolates was a welcome treat. We enjoyed staying here much more homey then a hotel will definitely rent again when returning to the area. The host were easy to contact and checked in to make sure all was well.
A pretty nice place. Obviously, not new build but I saw few signs of structural issues. Clean, well organized. We were there during the recent "week of rain" so although the yard wasn't really used, it was quite nice. A great space in proper weather. Very good location. Easy walk to downtown. Feeling of personal safety was quite high. A good neighborhood feeling. Much nicer than staying along the highway. Really a wonderful lot. Bedrooms are upstairs. A guardrail should be added. Some places (hooks) to hang clothes in bathroom and bedrooms would be nice. There is ample closet space, but on a short trip a wall hook is easier to use. Local TV channels not available. They are good to have in bad weather. The only thing I saw that needed cleaning were the front porch chairs but this is a bit of a seasonal issue. All provided supplies were adequate. Lighting, heating, water, ect were all just fine. I'd recommend it, I'd go back.
