Experience island life at its finest during your stay at this oceanfront duplex! Dig your toes in North Carolina's beautiful white-sand beaches via the private walkout and collect shells as you stroll, watch dolphins swim by, or catch glimpses of sea turtles hatching.

When you return, you'll be greeted by a house that has undergone numerous renovations, including new flooring, furniture, and more. Watch amazing sunrises from the two large ocean-facing decks and catch sunsets from the two Sound-side balconies. Relax on the deck in the hammock with a good book while listening to the waves. More ocean views await from the living area and one of the two main suites - both of which include private bathrooms. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom, which also includes a washer/dryer. Enjoy TV with HD cable, movies, and sports. Bring your laptop and connect to high-speed WiFi. Additional perks of this home include a well-equipped kitchen, an outside changing room and shower, a library of books, a radio/CD player, a VCR, a DVD player with family DVDs, and board games. Each bedroom comes with its own TV.

No grill….chairs were rusted shut….shed door lock is broken. No games. Not complaining about those things just wanted someone to know. I took pictures of things that were broken or damaged when we came it was very minimal but I wanted to make sure they didn’t think it was us.

Beautiful ocean views from main living areas and master suite, better than usual pots and pans, comfortable bunks for children. Beds in other 2 rooms smaller than advertised. Ocean was warm and tropical turquoise nearly every day and we saw dolphins quite close.Vacasa responded quickly to our request for more cups and bowls. Only real disappointment was the two smaller beds which we found uncomfortable for adults.

Location right on the beach was wonderful. Neighbors in connecting house had a large family and we couldn’t hear them at all which was nice. The window on the back deck was completely dry rotted and could not lock and could be pushed open from the outside. Bedroom upstairs was missing linens.Dryer took minimum of 4 cycles on highest heat setting at longest time to dry towels. We asked specifically what type of coffee machine we would have and were told it was a keurig which it wasn’t. Pots and pans could stand to be replaced. Be prepared to soak them for a while before being able to scrub. Overall, even with the negatives and the clear need for updates, you can’t beat being able to walk right out to the beach.

Island Beach House, North Topsail Beach

This is a very nice house to rent right on the beach but with enough sand to enjoy activities to the water’s edge. The bed situation was not quite what was in the ad so be aware and the sofa bed was in the living room providing no privacy. The home is well cared for and the management team responded to our texts/phone calls immediately. The trash and recycling need to be set out on Wednesday and Saturday and was seemingly moved before I could get it out early that morning. Thank you. The appliances all worked well and were convenient. I really appreciated the provided coffee filters (LOL). The house is in a nice location and is only about 10 minutes away from either side of the island. We also enjoyed the decks not only on the ocean side but on the front of the home as well and watched some beautiful sunsets.

Beach house as expected

Also Vacasa as expected. You don't get great customer service if you need it dealing with a giant conglomerate. The only reason we rented from them is because the house was directly next to another house we rented and wasn't big enough for our entire group. If you have the choice, rent from a local realty company, not vacasa. I miss Treasure Realty. The house itself was as expected and everything (except the electronic door lock) worked well and we experienced no hiccups with the house. Vacasa's customer service with the broken electronic door lock left much to be desired.

Fine but not what we expected

So. I will say Vacasa finally after 3 summers has the lock situation proper. Seems like most houses use the same locks and if they don’t Vacasa actually gives you proper instruction on how to lock and unlock. So this house was fine but, the pictures of the living room furniture are not what you will get. The pictures show much much nicer furniture in the living room. What we got was dorm quality furniture. Couch was fine but the 2 chairs with stools could not hold someone over 175 lb. Same with the kitchen table. If the chairs cost 20 bucks a piece I would be impressed. They didn’t even fit under the table and the table was from Walmart I think. It was pretty much a drop zone for beach stuff. Also the beds in the one room were also different so if we brought back up sheets or blankets we would have been out of luck. I feel it was kinda a bait and switch. I know this home was up for sale so I feel they staged it and used those pics then put in the cheapest stuff they could fine. Forget about cooking in the kitchen. No cutting beard. Knives were beyond dull. Couldn’t even cut bread. Very very sparse compared to all the other homes we have stayed in for 10 plus years. One bathroom didn’t even have a shower curtain liner, but we did get a hold of Vacasa and they got one over. Over all I feel the owners were just phoning it in till they sell it and really could care less. So overall. Pics not accurate. Very cheap living room and kitchen furniture. Kitchen supply is like a 2 out of 10.

Not worth it at all

Place is not what the pictures show. They clearly haven’t updated the pictures in years. We found mouse droppings. Door lock didn’t work in the kids bedroom that goes to the outside. The tvs didn’t work for the first 4 days and they were only able to get 3 of the 5 working. The house isn’t as clean as you would expect. Would recommend looking for another house

Desperately needs some TLC

The decor was very cute and the layout worked great. Location was awesome. BUT half the blinds didn't work, the master window leaked when it rained, and tread on one of the stairs was not glued down. Almost fell down the stairs tripping on it. The dining furniture was cute but not practical for constant rental, there were cracks and missing bolts. If these things were fixed I would rent again.

Needs improvement

The view from this home was spectacular. The house itself was a disappointment. We stayed one night (because we had arrived late) and requested a refund in the morning. Although the cleaning people did a decent job, the furniture was very dirty. The fabric headboard in the master bedroom is very dirty and moldy. There was significant mold on the ceiling in the master bath. This was reported by a guest in September and by mid October when we were there it still had not been addressed. Although they offered to send someone over to take care of it, we were not comfortable with that and requested a refund. We talked with several people at Vacasa and everyone was very understanding and kind.

Family getaway

We had an amazing time! The beach house was beautiful and in a great location. Easy access to the beach, with the use of beach chairs and boogie boards. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed! We will definitely book again!

Beautiful location but upkeep needed

The house is in a wonderful location with great views from the decks and living space. The interior needs upkeep, for example, there was significant mold on the ceiling in the master bath around the vent fan, and the master bed headboard and some pillows were very dirty. The couch is also stained from use. Beautiful location, hopefully, they put some care into it soon.

Gorgeous beach home!

This home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable! I especially loved the couch swing on the lower deck and the tall chairs on the upper deck. We spent hours in both places! Access to the beach was perfect, and we loved the addition of motion lights lighting the path to the beach. The outdoor shower was very nice as well.

Repeat renters but priced out for the future

This was our second Thanksgiving staying at this house and our main draw is the amazing view and well stocked kitchen! We also come because we can bring our dogs and the gate allows them to roam the decks freely so we can all enjoy the views together. The house needs some updates but the price always offset the condition until Vacassa took over and now the home no longer fits our budget. I hope they do upgrades to reflect doubling the price! I would certainly advise future renters to check on that before paying the new price. The TVs are small and there are no streaming services, the floors and carpeting need repair/replacement, the sofa is stained, the walls are dingy. Still sad to loose this place as it was affordable and those things didn't matter much to us.
