Couldn't have been better!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored our time at this lakefront cottage. It was more than we could ever have asked for. We spent 4 nights over New Years here and fully unplugged. I honestly didn't know what to expect at the cottage as the pictures didn't show much, but there's no way that pictures could do justice to this well appointed and thought out place. We stopped for groceries in Colebrook, NH on our way up, and we got many different spices and condiments, none of which we needed as the kitchen is impressively stocked. We had grand plans of snowmobiling and skiing the week away, but the weather had other plans. It rained the entire week before we arrived so the snow was hard packed. I was really bummed out on my drive up all the way from South Carolina, but quickly stopped worrying about it upon arrival. We had more fun exploring the area, visiting Montreal, going on hikes, cooking dinners, and playing silly board games with the wood stove burning than any amount of snowmobiling could have brought. We were so sad to leave and we're already planning on our return trip to enjoy this great spot in the warm weather this summer! Thanks to Joannie for helping us out with anything we could possibly need on our trip and to Judy for sharing her lovely place with us.

Another wonderful week in heaven!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this small slice of heaven, and we enjoyed the visit even more than the first time! Even when the weather makes it an indoor day, the view of the lake is beautiful; the design of the house means that you see the lake from wherever you choose to settle in this cozy house. Bring your own food, because a comprehensive grocery store is some miles away, but the full-sized kitchen has a very good collection of cooking and dining ware. Lots of stairs, so it wouldn't be a good choice for someone with mobility issues. The bed is extremely comfortable, which certainly isn't the case for many rentals! The new dock is a great place to sit, there's a good collection of kayaks available, and the lake is clean and beautiful. Oh, and the local caretaker is lovely. This is a lovely romantic spot, and it also would be a wonderful writer's retreat.

A Model VRBO Experience.

  • 5 of 5

My parents and I had a fantastic time at this beautiful lake house. The owner and property manager were a joy to work with from beginning to end and they made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful and relaxing long weekend. The cabin is very cozy and well appointed. The only thing that we regret is only having two days there!

We will definitely be coming back to this place. A model VRBO experience.

PERFECT quite get-a-way!

  • 5 of 5

When we pulled up to the house, we were immediately blown away by the beautiful view of the lake! House was right on the water. PERFECT size house for my husband, my dog and myself. Great hiking near area where dog can be off leash. House is off a quite road that wraps around the lake so our dog was almost never on her leash. House has a great dock over the water and the grill and fire pit came in great handy. Saw some VERY clear skies at night. VERY beautiful!!! Will definitely return!

Wonderful vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Great vacation spot. House was spotless and so well appointed. Beautiful lake and a wonderful spot for a house. We had so much fun canoeing the lake and taking walks and day trips to other Vermont and New Hampshire towns. Visited Canada twice and had a terrific time. Foliage is beautiful. Judy, thank you so much for sharing your home and Joanie gave us such a nice welcome. The week went so fast, so sorry to be leaving.

Charming and cozy hideaway up north

  • 5 of 5

This place was a great find for the two of us: long-ish drive but striking distance from Boston, and remote enough that we felt like we really got away... What a beautiful cabin- well-stocked kitchen, plenty of games and reading materials, tasteful decor, and the views- stunning! We didn't fire up the internet once over 4 days. It snowed the day before we arrived and again during our stay- couldn't have asked for a prettier landscape. Hot chocolate and deliciously warm woodstove as we watched the evening grow dark over the frozen lake. Plenty of hiking, crosscountry skiing and snowmobiling (and moose!) nearby. The local caretaker is friendly and helpful if you need anything. Bring a passport if you want to cross into Canada, and plenty of food supplies as the nearest reliable stores are several miles away- though with few distractions, you'll be able to really enjoy cooking. We appreciated the quiet beauty of this little gem in the Northeast Kingdom.
