Beautiful, secluded, open plan cottage with spectacular sea views

The wood house is a beautiful, secluded, open-plan cottage with spectacular sea views, a natural setting in a reclaimed woodland, and close proximity to Englishman’s Bay, which has been voted as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The cottage sits on over 3 acres of land that was a bamboo thicket until the 1990’s when local naturalist, Renson Jack, began working with the owners to eradicate the bamboo and replace it with native plants, fruits, and flowers to attract wildlife. The result is a reclaimed natural woodland environment attracting a large variety of wildlife. Walk the restored grounds on the terraced hillside, explore the larger Englishman’s Bay Estate, or visit trails in the nearby rainforest preserve. Ideal for birders or naturalists interested in exploring the Tobago en-vironment. This house was designed for indoor-outdoor living and can be fully opened to allow the tropical breeze to pass through. This also means the house may not be for everyone because wildlife (invertebrate and vertebrate) may find their way into the house.
The cottage is at the end of a private road, so is very private. Enjoy spectacular sunsets on the terrace, lounge in the private pool, or enjoy the grounds without seeing another person. Alternatively, you can travel a short distance to the nearby small village of Castara for groceries or eat in restaurants with local cuisine. And, of course, there are the nearby beaches. New in 2024: high speed internet via wifi
Please, no children. It is a safety issue with unfenced pool and some steep, unprotected drops.

My favourite place to be in Tobago! The view, ambiance, location and design are just perfect for an escape and reset. Communication with the host and caretaker make check in easy. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It's fast become a home away from home!

Heavenly Bliss!

If you are seeking a total escape or romantic getaway then this is the place for you! Secluded, private, tranquil, in the canopy of the Northern ridge rainforest with a to die for view of the ocean. It is just sheer bliss! I can watch the sunrise and the moon set from the pool for an eternity! Host and staff are super friendly and helpful!

For anybody that wants peace nature stunning views simple but comfortable . This is for them . It’s well off the beaten track 5 mins from stunning Englishman’s Bay and with most needs catered for in Castara 10 mins away . Wonderful indoor/outdoor existence . The pool is a great bonus . You need a car and a little bit of an adventurous spirit and you will be well rewarded

We had a wonderful relaxing stay, an escape to the nature, and would have loved to stay longer than 3 nights. We enjoyed the beautiful property and the pool especially as nobody else was staying in the building next to the cottage. While the surrounding nature and the cottage building are gorgeous the remote location and amenities make it a more rustic than an upscale experience. We recommend planning and buying groceries before arrival because there are only mini markets nearby and not so many restaurants either. It's also nice to be able to just stay at the cottage. In this regard the kitchen has all the pots and pans you need for cooking and eating but the items are basic and some slighly outdated. Only salt was available in terms of pantry staples. We are tall and for a perfect night sleep would have preferred bigger/more pillows and a bigger bed than the queen bed. There wasn't extra bedding readily available for the murphy bed downstairs.

Secluded quiet spot--perfect spot to relax in the cool tropical breeze, dip in the pool to cool off, or go for a walk on the grounds or to nearby beach. Beautiful building designed by a local architect is unique. So private clothing is optional if that is your desire; just let the owners know your privacy wishes.
