My wife and I have long enjoyed the Mendocino Coast and visited frequently as weekend get-aways. We were fortunate to meet many locals and eventually locate a home for sale that we fell in love with.
Our favorite feature of this vacation home is how utterly relaxing it is. Even when we visit with all intentions to accomplish work away from work, the relaxation gene kicks in unexpectedly, and all tensions or stress from our work-a-day life melt away.
My sons, their significant others and I enjoyed 4 wonderful days here - there was everything we needed in the house - it felt like home away from home but with the amazing location close to Mendocino and the mesmerizing view of the Pacific - we loved the hot tub since we really had cold temperatures during our stay.
My family of 7 had a fabulous time at this spacious, gorgeous property in Albion. The house is located right off of Hwy 1 and is a very close drive to several beaches, downtown Mendicino, and some neat hikes. The house itself is very secluded and quiet. My family enjoyed sitting in the huge hot-tub (fit 7 adults comfortably) and watching the ocean or the surrounding property for deer, hawks and other wildlife. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked. The living room was big enough for all of us to cuddle up and do a puzzle, play a game, watch a DVD, or just watch the fire. On our last day we were trying to decide when we could all come back to enjoy the space again! This house is an absolute must if you are looking for a relaxing, secluded vacation for a group.
Good overall Upstairs windows had blown open before we arrived so house was cold and we had to find a way to close not easy
I was a little concerned because the description included "rustic", which means different things to different people, however this home is charming, spacious and well equipped. Although it's in a gated community, it's very secluded and quiet. Perfect for a comfortable, relaxing vacation.
My wife, 6 year old daughter and Brittany Spaniel just enjoyed a five night vacation at this wonderful home. My wife's parents drove in from Arizona and stayed with us during this time. The house is conveniently located close to Hwy 1, just south of Albion but it is secluded enough to offer privacy and a great view of the Pacific off the deck and even from the hot tub. Very nice having two bedrooms for our family on the top floor and one for our in-laws on the bottom. Stove was convenient for heating home during night. Fire pit off back porch was used several times to make smores. Owner has purchased quality Samsung appliances which made cooking and laundry a snap. Owner (Stephen) was very easy to communicate with and quite professional in his approach. Our dog loved roaming around the perimeter of the house looking for birds and butterflies to chase. Home has a special closet with family games to play. Got a kick out of the wooden free throw game. Living room has very large screen TV, which we used for watching the NBA Finals on--very nice. Convenient to have Wifi available, too. All beds were comfortable. Kids room has a small nook built into wall behind bed that our daughter enjoyed watching movies in. House is in quiet subdivision which was nice for taking ocean-view walks. Would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us, Stephen!!
We drove from Sacramento to North Coast.....our car broke down in San Rafael. Had to rent a car to complete trip. Once we got to the house it was great. Very spacious and everything was as described. Then the mechanic called from San Rafael and we were shocked at what the cost of repair was and had to leave early to accommodate. We called the owner and explained the situation and he allowed us to leave 2 days early...which he did not have to do....so hats off to him for being considerate of our situation, but all in all it was a great stay..we enjoyed the scenery and peacefulness. Many thanks again for the consideration.
