Located down a quiet road, this recently updated and inviting ground-level getaway is the perfect home base for your next family vacation in spectacular Mendocino! Inside this modern, sunlit home, you'll find a well-equipped full kitchen, a large dining table for meals or family game nights, and a living area with a cable-equipped flatscreen smart TV and a warming wood stove. This home also includes a game room with a full-size pool table and table-top arcade for when you're craving a little friendly competition. Outside, you'll find a soothing, private hot tub, side-by-side picnic tables, and chairs where you can sit and watch the ocean as you sip your coffee or a local microbrew.



What's nearby:

Discover the natural beauty of Sinking Hole and hike the trails in Russian Gulch State Park, located within a short walking distance immediately south of this home. Visit Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park for even more scenic hiking trails, just a mile-and-a-half north on Highway 1. The heart of Mendocino, a blufftop village known for its charming art galleries, shops, and wonderful restaurants, is two miles south, while Fort Bragg, home of the famous Glass Beach, awaits a little over eight miles north.

This very spacious house was perfect for our large family. The kids (ages 16-21) loved playing pool and soaking in the jacuzzi, plus, there is plenty of lawn space to throw the football around. The adults loved sipping on a glass of wine on the deck. Another bonus is that it was so close to Russian Gulch State Park, which has beautiful hiking and access down to the ocean.

The house was extremely clean and even had it ready early for us had we been able to take advantage of that. Great location right outside a state park where we could take an amazing walk along the coast. Did not have a chance to try the hot tub, so cannot speak to that. They did have plenty of towels though. Great separation of spaces - the 3 twin bedrooms double bathroom side could be closed off completely. The side with the pool table theoretically has two king beds. Now what needs improvement (none of this would have prevented us from renting the place as it was safe, clean had enough beds, and had a good location). The primary king bedroom had two twin mattresses masquerading as a king. I might suggest moving the good king mattress from the room next door into there. Water pressure in most of the showers was abysmal, perhaps due to significant flow restricters as the water pressure in the primary bathroom was fine. There were only 6 spoons and 6 bowls. The house could use some spiffing up - patching of holes/scratches in the wall, holes in the fence, scraping off of excess grout, etc. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and could see the ocean from the living room, and two bedrooms pretty well. We weren't close enough to find it mesmerizing but it was pretty. We really appreciated the clean space that accommodated our family and 3 dogs.

This was a girlfriend trip. (Old girls.) We were pleased with the cleanliness of the place, the comfortable beds and furniture, the loveliness of the property and the easy access to state parks, the botanical garden, and Mendocino itself, which is a gem. The hot tub worked fine, and I can see how a group of more varied ages would enjoy the game room. Having read reviews of Vacasa online that were less than favorable, I was very happy to find this place up to standard.

Let me start by saying Vacasa is terrible and I hope the owners reconsider renting through them. Vacasa did not respond to messages for 12 hours, despite saying they have 24/7 teams. Even the hot tub was inaccessible when we arrived, despite being a key feature. And each time you send a request, a different person responds, often to only part of the request and often not with helpful or correct information. The rental itself was pretty gross. All of the couches and chairs were covered in stains. The appliances and dishes were covered in food - it didn’t help that the dishwasher barely cleaned anything.Back to Vacasa - they provide a box with cleaning materials, but it’s only two dishwasher pods and one laundry packet - certainly not enough for a four bed household for one week. And lastly, I asked to check out 1.5 hours late. They offered me late check out for 150.

Mendo Beauty PCH Hwy, California 1 North

Ten childhood friends celebrating 60 years of friendship; what a wonderful time. The home provided the perfect open floorpan to gather for meals, talks, laughter and sharing. The front deck gave us chances to enjoy the stunning sunsets and distant ocean view. Throughout the home the bedrooms offered us options for beds: 3 singles, 2 trundles, 2 Kings, 1 Queen which we appreciated; as well as 4 bathrooms. Amenities in the kitchen were ample as many of us like to cook. Location of the house was minutes from Russian Gulch State Park Waterfall Loop Trail, Mendocino historic town, Fort Bragg Glass Beach. Unique shops and galleries, food in Mendocino town also Vegan options. Harvest Market at Mendosa's for groceries, Trillium Cafe Farm to Table, Corners of the Mouth Health Food store. Life is Good in Mendocino! The home was comfortable and recommended for your next getaway. The 4 star rating for cleanliness pertained to the outdoor cleanliness of yard, wood furniture benches, picnic tables which are all very worn and splintery. A bit of TLC is needed outdoors. Indoors was very clean :)

Large Mendocino Home

Great house for 3 families. Lots to do, plenty of space. Walking distance to Russian Gulch beach and trails. Appliances need some attention but we made it work.

Ocean Trails vacation

We had a great time and enjoyed the deck, pool table, great kitchen and most of the house. We did feel the inside is getting a little run down and the outside needed some attention cleanliness, bugs, walkway to the hot tub needed to be lit up. It was very dark and the stairway was uneven and difficult for an older person to navigate.

Excellent huge property

Superb property, super clean, good beds, lovely kitchen. Deck not clean. Toiletries not sufficient, almost none. These minor issues can easily be corrected. I would highly recommend this property.

Family Spring Break ‘24

This property was absolutely perfect for our family trip! It met everyone’s desires for our stay! The pool table was absolutely the frosting on the cake for all the “boys”. The hot tub was amazing and the view!!! The floor plan was so well laid out. Everyone had room to chill and there was plenty of room for us all to gather together as well. This will definitely be a repeated request! Thank you for sharing this home!

The perfect Mendocino getaway!

This was the perfect house for our ladies’ weekend get away. A fully equipped kitchen made it easy to cook delicious meals, the open living room/kitchen area was perfect for hanging and eating and spending time together. With Russian gulch down the road and a hot tub at the house, there was no reason to leave in our one full day! Incredible views and luscious landscaping provided such a beautiful space and we loved it! Will book again!

Great family getaway!

This is a lovely and very well-equipped home. Best kitchen I have encountered. The pool table provided hours of fun for my grandsons and their father and uncle. Views are lovely! Short walk to the beach. Beds are very comfortable. We will be back!

Friends Getaway - Great House

The house layout was perfect for our group. It provided most everything we needed. The location was perfect and view was beautiful. On a warm sunny day, the deck was amazing. Of course, the hot tub was enjoyable at all times. My dog loved the backyard and walking in the nearby State Park.

Good experience overall

House is in a great location, private and quiet. Kitchen is well stocked with lots of room. Beautiful view from the sitting room. Mattresses were disappointing, as well as the kitchen chairs. We did enjoy our stay but had one bad experience with termites for two days. Lost sleep one night as a few of them ended up in our bed. Management could have dealt with the situation a little differently. Seemed to downplay the incident. Overall, everyone enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful Home

Our family really enjoyed the visit! Great home, good layout for our group. Beautiful views! We had a great time relaxing on the deck in the front of the house. Played quite a few games of pool and even a few arcade games! Most beds were comfortable - my MIL tried out one of the twin beds but had to relocate in the middle of the night as she said it was a bit uncomfortable - more suited for kids or teens. Kitchen was well stocked and certainly didn't lack storage (so many cabinets!). Great yard for our dog! Couple issues - backyard needs a ton more lighting! Very dangerous walking up to the hot tub at night - we used some of the provided flashlights and lanterns but many had dead batteries upon arrival (one member of our party fell coming back down to the house the first night before we discovered the lanterns). No closet access in the master bedroom was a little disappointing, but thankfully we were able to share with our daughter so we were wrinkle-free! Minor issues, but we highly recommend some flood lights or landscape lighting in the backyard! Definitely would stay here again. Great house and location!

Beautiful Views

We really enjoyed ourselves. It was a very private, quiet getaway. Beautiful views from all the windows. The house was very clean and very well stocked. We were very close to the Russian Gulch State Park and we went on some wonderful walks. Also we had so much fun playing Ms PAC Man - brought back memories!!! Would love to stay again.

Perfect size.

We had a nice time in Mendocino and enjoyed our stay at this house. Perfect size so everyone had privacy and everything was in working order. Certain areas weren’t as clean as they should be (dust under beds, pots and pans greasy, etc.) but I think that has to do more with a deep cleaning needed then just preparing for the next guests. (And I imagine finding time to do this is difficult). We enjoyed using the game room, piano and hot tub... added benefits to renting this house.

Very Nice But A Few Glitches

Overall, we had a very good time. The Mendocino area is lovely. In general, the house was very nice, but it was not cleaned as thoroughly as we would have liked prior to our arrival, and the refrigerator was broken when we arrived causing some food we brought up to spoil before the appliance was replaced with a new one. Also, although the house was certainly roomy and comfortable, it was not nearly as large as the online posting made it appear. Special thanks to KAT, the support person from Vacasa—when we called her, needing help with the refrigerator, she was absolutely great.
