Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space in the center of Kentucky’s Bourbon Country. Enjoy wildlife and nature in one of our 5 two bedroom cottages. Each sits on two acres. Perfect retreat for couples traveling together or individuals looking for privacy and quiet. We’re located directly between 4 of the biggest bourbon distilleries on the trail and 20 minutes from anything you’d like to see and do!
**There will be a $500 fee for smoking inside the cottage**

Each cottage has its own hot tub and firepit situated on the most breathtaking countryside views. Sounds of nature and wildlife sightings are sure to make your stay unique and relaxing.
We now offer customized tours to distilleries, breweries, wineries or a combination of all! You can create your bourbon country experience. Let us know if you`re interested in booking a tour during your stay.

Your personalized door code will be sent to you by 2:00 on the day of your arrival.

Bourbon Barrel Cottages is an 11 acre gorgeous hillside in the heart of Bourbon country. Custom built with all the amenities of home plus some, each cottage is nestled on it`s own two acre setting.

Parking areas are at each cottage. We offer customized tours to distilleries, breweries, wineries or a combination of all! You can create your bourbon country experience. Let us know if you`re interested in booking a tour during your stay.

The middle of everywhere

Right in the middle of the Bourbon Trail. Out in the peaceful country, yet not too far from all the places you want to visit, distilleries, wineries , restaurants and all the local towns. Great cabin, great location we will be back again for sure.

Bourbon Trail Bliss!!!

We had the best time staying here during our visit to the bourbon trail!!! The cottage is perfect!!! Angie has thought of everything!!!! The hot tub and fire pit at night were the perfect end to our day visiting local distilleries!! We also loved all the local places to eat. If you are visiting the bourbon trail, this is the place to stay!!

A Hidden Treasure

2nd stay. We were traveling to northern Indiana and wanted a middle point to stay on the way up and way back. Awesome peaceful place after being on the road all day. Hosts are wonderful and cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

The Great Escape

We loved our weekend at the Bout on Cottages. We were close enough to distilleries to visit 3 easily, and we were still able to take walks, barbecue our meals with help from our adequately stocked kitchen, enjoy a camp fire, and soak up the beautiful views of Kentucky. This was just what I needed to relax and recharge.

There are 5 cottages, we stayed in #1. Located in a beautiful Kentucky farmland. It was a brand new cottage, perfectly designed and furnished. They didn't forget about any detail. Enjoyed the books about local history and sightseeing.

Slice of paradise!

This property is one of kind! From the coy ponds, flowers, and fresh eggs offered alongside a very new and modern cottage. Every detail was thought of - blue tooth speaker, spices, hot tub towels, and even snacks. Everything was perfect and our pups loved running through the fields too.

Beautiful Cottages!

The cottages are warm and cozy. Very clean and beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed the wildlife in the fields all around the cottages. The fire pit was our favorite spot. The owners are exceptionally nice and always responsive if we needed something. We can not wait to visit again!! Rate a 10/10, you have to experience the trip for yourself!!

3 Day Weekend

This cottage is perfect! Very clean and so well decorated. Very peaceful setting but was also close to Lawrenceburg where we enjoyed supper at the Bluegrass Sabor. We drove to the Natural Bridge on Saturday and Churchill Downs Sunday. Monday we toured Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve. The location was perfect to allow us to do all 3. Highly recommend! Communication was excellent by the owners.

Wonderful Cottage

We decided to do the Kentucky Bourbon trail and this seemed like a good location to see a lot of the distilleries. It was perfect! Cute, clean cottage that was well equipped with everything. The owners were so thoughtful- loved the extra touches and we even came back from dinner the evening we checked in to a wonderful fire already started for us. Really enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. We will definitely be back again (hopefully when it’s warmer and we can also visit Keeneland to see a race).

FANTASTIC Property!

DETAILS matter! This property is amazing! All details were amazing. This property is brand new and beautiful. The fire pit and hot tub was amazing and the cabin had firewood ready to go. The cabin was rustic chic and stunning. The owners included some snacks and condiments, including coffee that were very much appreciated. Beautiful property they’re building and we’d love to come back!

Peaceful Getaway

We stayed at Bourbon Barrel Cottages for my spring break. I am a teacher and was looking for a quiet getaway. The property was perfect. It was under construction to complete other cottages, but there was never excess noise or mess. It was close enough to town so we could go shopping and make meals at the cottage instead of spending money going out every night. The hosts gave a great recommendation for a private tour to go to different distilleries as well. We will definitely be recommending it to friends and going back in the future. We can’t wait to see how it all looks when the new projects on property are complete.

Came For the Bourbon But Kept Coming Home Early For the Cabin!

The cabin was incredibly cute, clean, and well equipped. The snacks and T-shirts made arrival extra welcoming! The property was so much fun to relax on! We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the covered front porch every day. Our dogs enjoyed walking the grounds and hanging out with us in and around the cabin. Check in and check out were seamless and communication with the hosts was quick and easy. We thought we would go into Lexington or Louisville during this stay, but there were plenty of distilleries and food options in the local area, and we were eager to come home and enjoy the cabin more each day. We are so thankful for this wonderful, dog friendly option in lieu of hauling a travel trailer so far from home. Thank you, Bourbon Barrel Cottages!

OMG! Best VRBO I’ve ever stayed in.

After reading all the good reviews I thought it sounded to good to be true. I’m glad we chose this place because the reviews were spot on. . This place is amazing! Super convenient to local wineries and distilleries. The cottages are so cute! Everything you need is available and even some extras that made it feel special. They are SO clean which is really important. I’ve never been more comfortable with the cleanliness of a stay. Check in and out where super easy and host responded amazingly quick when I had early morning questions. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to stay! The grounds are beautifully decorated with flower gardens, picnic tables by the creek, and they are even adding fish ponds. We enjoyed a relaxing walk with a glass of wine exploring the property after a day of checking out distilleries. Can’t wait to go back and bring some friends!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My husband and I had an opportunity to visit Bourbon Barrel Cottages #1 of 5 on Kentucky Trail July 2023 and the stay did not disappoint. Cottage #1 was just what we were looking for in terms of driving distance to different distilleries, cleanliness, privacy and space for just the two of us. The location sits perfectly between Louisville and Lexington. About 40 min drive to Louisville (we were able to visit Angel's Envy) and 30 min drive in opposite direction to Woodford Reserve/Buffalo Trace Distilleries (we highly encourage you reserving tickets prior to your visit). There is also a cute winery called Lovers Leap about 5 min from the cottage which has live music and very fun to visit. Cottage #1 has everything you may need. It is fairly a new built the decor is on point! The small details such as wood for the fire place (and a lighter) extra towels for the hot tub (which was very clean), blankets, water bottle for both of us and cookies made our stay extra special. With regards to the property, you can tell the owners have attended to landscape details and are currently in the process of adding some tranquil water fountain/pond. The barrel decor inspired us for some future home projects too! Will definitely be back again! Cheers!
