Cleanliness issues, customer service, and hidden costs
Overall, the location and property are great! This particular villa was nice, but was not properly cleaned. The glass tables were covered in smudges, dust, and debris. The kitchen table had food on it and food debris on the floor below. The other surfaces were not dusted either. The floors had not been clean and left our feet black when walking barefoot through the condo. The rental provided clean sheets, but only provided a duvet for 3 of the 4 beds, but no duvet cover for any beds. The duvets did not appear to be laundered, as there was hair and stains on them. The rental sleeps 6 and had 4 beds, but there was only one blanket in the whole condo.
With regard to customer service provided, we called to request extra blankets and they said they do not provide them. The downstairs air conditioning unit would not go below 75, so we put in a work order upon our arrival. The service associate responded promptly, but was unable to fix it and said they would need to contact the owner. We placed another work order, but no one followed up for the remainder of our stay.
We also felt that Southern Vacation Rentals was not forthcoming about additional charges. Our booking said we had 2 parking spaces, but a few days before our arrival we were sent a 15 page contract and we’re informed we would have an additional cost for parking. We requested a late check out and we were told we had to request at least 5 days prior to our arrival and there was an additional cost associated.
