Private cottage 2 bedroom home. Built in 1860 Very secluded backyard with porch and patio. Located3 blocks from Great River Road ,bike and walking path and scenic views.Walking distance to downtown Alton, many restaurants, bars, bakery, shops, library. Grafton Is just up river road tourist enjoy water park, zip line, lots of places to eat n relax.

Very private back yard, with porch and limestone patio, to enjoy. Outside patio furniture there to relax

Claw foot tub to enjoy a soaking warm bath.

It was a wonderful little old home near the downtown area but just enough off the center to not be busy. Well stocked and perfect for a getaway.

Cute cottage that has everything you will need. We enjoyed walking around the Alton downtown area and this home is close by places to eat and explore. It is also a quick and easy drive into St. Louis to take in the sites there without having to stay in the city. The host is very accommodating and provides great communication if you need anything or have questions. We enjoyed our stay.

Great little getaway!

We had a wonderful stay! Very charming little house. We went to a Cardinals game, and it was an easy drive to and from the stadium. Walking distance to good restaurants and shops. Neighborhood has lots of cool historic homes and brick sidewalks.

This house is super clean and location is great! Walkable distance to shopping and a ton of great bars and restaurants. You can see the river from the front of the house. The back yard is great and a peaceful place to eat or have morning coffee. Safe neighborhood.Host was super responsive with any questions we had. House has everything you could need for a long or short stay. Highly recommend and we hope to come back!

Fall Getaway

My husband and I visited the Alton area for a long fall weekend. The property owner was very helpful from arrival to our departure. We enjoyed the attention to every detail and the cleanliness. College Roommate Reunion

Wonderful experience. Very cozy house in the historic district. Love the cobblestone streets! The host was an amazing communicator and was so thoughtful in making the house comfortable to stay in.

Robin and guest left the place clean… The beds were used…but maybe no showers taken? The house was cleaned again for next incoming guest I believe the address for the house is given once the reservation is confirmed and paid. Thanks for staying.

Perfect Stay in a Historic City

We rented this perfectly-sized charming cottage in historic Alton for my daughter and her friend to stay in while she attended orientation at the nearby dental school and looked for long term housing.The house was very comfortable, nicely furnished, beautiful decorated and conveniently located in a quiet, safe neighborhood in one of the most historic cities in Illinois.Susan was the perfect host! Communication was prompt, friendly and always positive. I will be recommending her house to friends and family.

Charming and quiet

What a cute little house with so much charm. We loved the brick everywhere, the high ceilings and the private backyard space. We never saw another human but did have a feline visitor when we sat outside. ☺️ Bonus points for the relaxed check in/out times, helpful notes around the house, and for the luxury of prefilled ice trays! Can't wait to come back!

Nice Cottage

The stay was great. The owner was very responsive. No Wi-Fi would be one item I would change. I would put a hand rail for the shower/ bathtub. All was great otherwise. Nice decor, nice beds and nice kitchen and supplies. Beds were very comfortable. Great stay.

Lovely house surrounded by historic Alton

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy little cottage! The clawfoot bathtub is wonderful, the beds are comfy, and the retaining walls in back are masterpieces of masonry in and of themselves. It's charming and surprisingly quiet for being so close to downtown Alton. Be warned, the brick road is both rough and steep so you're best off approaching from the top of the bluff. We got great workouts when we ventured out on foot to look at the historic homes in the neighborhood! The host is easy to reach and quick to respond to any question or concerns. We're very happy to have found Tab's in our adventures, a veteran-owned and operated eatery with the most amazing food! A wonderful stay in this historic river town and this quaint little house was perfect for us!
