My family and I have stayed in many of the hemlock cabins and enjoy ourselves every time. We have come alone, with friends, parents, and just recently with our new son :) The owners have been accommodating every time and very quick to respond to messages. The kitchen is always well stocked, which is great because we cook the majority of our meals. We love the cozy/home away from home feel and the beautiful view from every cabin doesn't hurt either! :) We definitely recommend looking up Hemlock Hills cabin rental the next time your in TN!
Stayed September 2014, traveled with family
I was very happy we chose this cabin. We fit a family of 5 and a dog nicely. The kids loved the pool table. The view wasn't what the picture showed but we spent most of the daytime out of the cabin anyway.
I was nervous about renting something sight-unseen (outside of online photos), but I could not have had a better experience! The management team was wonderful to work with. All my questions were answered in a timely and friendly manner. The online reservation process was very easy. The directions to the cabin were easy to follow. So we were already off to a great start before we even got to the cabin!
The cabin is pretty secluded- up a little mountain road that I was nervous about driving the first time, but after that I was a pro. There are a few other cabins on the road, but we never encountered anyone the whole week we were there.
The outside appearance was very neat and immaculate. We walked all around the deck before going in, and it looks like it was very well-maintained. I had dreaded pulling up to a rundown shack in the woods, to be honest, so I was really relieved at how well maintained it was.
The inside was spotless and gorgeous. It's cozy and warm, not sterile or impersonal like a hotel room. The living room furniture was updated from what I'd seen online and I liked it a lot better. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed for the food we'd brought- cookware, utensils, dishes, etc. The washer/dryer was very much appreciated and I did a couple of loads during the week.
The pool table and air hockey table were a lot of fun. The tables were in good shape. The only suggestion I have to management is to add a couple more pool cues. There is one adult size and one child size. Another adult size would have been good, lol!
The beds were very comfortable. I'm a picky sleeper, but the mattress was firm and comfortable and I slept very well. I was on the couch a lot with my laptop doing homework online, and even the couch was comfy. There was no problem connecting to the wi-fi, which I was grateful for.
We only used the hot tub a couple of times, because I'm a big chicken who just knew that Jason or Michael Myers was going to come get me if I was sitting out there at night. But it was very relaxing after a hard day of rafting and horseback riding. We were not able to adjust the temp or turn the lights on, but that wasn't a big enough deal that I was going to call maintenance about it. I would suggest some nails or plastic hooks put up on the wall by the hot tub to hang towels and such on.
We cannot wait to come back to Hannah's Hideaway next year! The price was truly a steal and there is no need to shop around to other cabins.
We enjoyed our 4 days at Hannah's Hideaway. It was wonderful to have a Smoky Mountain Christmas and a white one at that. I believe that we had over a foot of snow while we were there. If it weren't for our 4 wheel drive we would not have made it away from or back to the cabin. The cabin was very clean and just perfect!
