About this property

Sherm's Shack — a historical, family-owned Saugatuck home

Welcome to Sherm’s Shack! Located within the Historic District of Saugatuck, this 1874 farmhouse was where our parents enjoyed their retirement. The property is completely family‑run by the Sherman daughters and their kids, who take pride in maintaining the home and welcoming guests to this special place. We’ve had many great gatherings with friends and family, and invite you to have some here, too!

The house is within walking distance from Saugatuck’s downtown shopping district and a short drive to beaches, including the city’s famous Oval Beach. If you like to hike or bike, the beginning of the Saugatuck to Holland bike trail is just down the street.

“The Shack” has plenty of parking with a backyard big enough for games and cook-outs. We have chairs and yard games available.

Our fully furnished kitchen is great for preparing meals and the dining room is a wonderful space for gatherings with family or friends. Or, if you prefer, take advantage of the many restaurants in town (The Southerner is a short walk across the street).

The master bedroom is on the first floor. Steps to the second floor may be challenging for people with mobility issues.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We are a third-generation family that has lived in and vacationed in Saugatuck. Our extended family grew up in the Saugatuck/Douglas area, and our parents eventually retired here. Our kids — now all adults — also enjoy Saugatuck and help with the house as well.
