A beautiful penthouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms , a living room and kitchen /dining room and a large outdoor terrace with bar and BBQ . You will love our oceanfront condo on the boulevard of Kralendijk, within walking distance to restaurants , grocery stores and the main tourist street (Kaya Grandi).

The condo has over 1700 sqft ( 160m2) including the outdoor living spaces . You will have a shaded area to relax outside or you can choose to sunbathe on the lounge chairs . Of course, many days you may end up watching the sunset from the bar .

We have been told many times by guests :”this must be the best view and location in Bonaire “ . Please read the reviews .The penthouse has everything one can wish for : walking distance to the beach in front of the unit and to the next door diving operator and to the famous Karel's pier -Bonaire’s one and only above the water bar and restaurant.

The condo has a firsthand view of the coming and going of the yachts that visit Bonaire and the cruise ships will pass directly in front of you .The security is excellent , a gate key is needed to enter the premises and the entry door is the only door on our floor level. The property is fully airconditioned , a rarity in Bonaire , but trade winds and ceiling fans will allow comfortable sleeping without airco’s in some seasons ,also because the property is fully screened against mosquito's. We ourselves usually start the living area A/C after sunset and the bedroom airco's an hour before retiring . During the day we enjoy the tradewinds which make the penthouse very comfortable , even without A/C.

We believe this is a premier place in Bonaire and we would not trade with anyone else because each morning we enjoy the view of the turquoise waters , the beaches of Klein Bonaire across and the distant view of the mountainous area of Bonaire in the Washington Park preserve. You can also on occasion see dolphin pods pass by while sipping your morning coffee(s) .

In the evening, we enjoy a cool drink –the local Amstel beer is called “Bright” and we rate the sunsets by assigning a number of Brights . A five Bright evening as shown in the photo is the best sunset you can experience in the Caribbean. Fortunately there are many great sunsets …

Local assistance with any problems/questions during your stay and the airport reception will be provided by our very capable property managers at BookavillaBonaire .

We have recently completed a remodeling of the guest bedroom, see photo. We now have room for 5 persons because the Master Bedroom still has the King sized bed , but the second (guest) bedroom has a queen sized bed and a twinXL ( single) bed . This may help to accommodate families with children.

Beautiful with a catch
Amazing place right downtown on the waterfront. The catch is there is only street parking, which is full most of the time. Dive gear should be stored at dive shops so you dont have to haul it from wherever you parked upstairs.

Amazing Rental, Close to Everything
We spent a week at this lovely penthouse apartment. The unit was clean, and set up so there was a constant light breeze through the unit (there is A/C throughout if needed, but we used only in the bedroom at night). The view from the deck/patio was amazing. Perfect location for watching the sunset after a day of diving. It is just a short walk to restaurants, shopping, etc. Property manager was lovely and communication was easy and prompt. If we go back (which we hope to do) my first choice would be to return to this rental!

Great Location and Amazing Views
This was our first time renting this condo and we stayed two weeks. We felt like we were "home" as soon as we walked in. Absolutely everything you need is there. Since the owner actively uses it they leave a lot of day to day items there. We ate all our breakfasts, lunches and about half our dinners there. The gas bbq grill is a full size and works great. The location is in the middle of town with everything is walkable. The views and extensive outdoor areas are great! A/C's are in each room. When the trade-winds die down they are great to have. The local property manager, Karin, is a gem. Very quick to respond if you need anything and with great advice. As others have mentioned it is two flights of stairs up. It wasn't a problem for us as we leave our dive gear at the dive shop. Parking was no issue for us but perhaps it is different in the high season? We feel the location and grill more than make up for that. We would absolutely rent this condo again when it is available.

Great location, fantastic views and a big and clean house. We had plenty of room to be comfortable and the views from the terrace are just amazing. I don’t think the pics do justice to the spot - we really enjoyed it. And being able to walk everywhere was a big win. We were told the pool is only for ages 12 and above so keep that in mind if you have smaller kids in your family.

A month in the "Nest"
Really great apartment - close to everything downtown, huge space indoors and outside, fast WiFi, excellent kitchen supplies, and cold A/C for the few nights the wind wasn't enough to cool the bedroom. The view of the sunset over the bay and Klein is a marvel - this spot is perfect for sun-downers and sunset watching. Check-in was super easy and the on-island manager Karin was fantastic to work with.

Best view on the island and a great unit
We loved our stay at the nest. Truly, this has to be one of the best views on the island. The unit itself was well maintain, had quality appliances, upgraded bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms. It's location downtown cannot be beat with easy walking distance to food and shops The local manager, Karin, was a delight to work with and incredibly responsive when we had a small emergency. Now the heads up. These are not complaints, but more things you should be aware of: 1. It is downtown. That means that there is noise. No, not urban city noises but regular street noise. 2. Similarly, being next to It Rains Fishes is great, but you do get noise and smells from the restaurant and you can hear the garbage and recycling pick up in the early morning. 3. Being downtown also means no onsite parking. There is parking on city spots on the block behind the building which usually works. On the weekend with Bobojans is open you may need to wait for an opening. 4. Finally, the unit is on the third floor. There is no elevator which means stairs. Having a neuromuscular disorder made that challenging sometimes, but didn't stop our enjoying the unit. We cannot say enough positive things about the nest. Everything including a very reasonable price makes it a great unit on the island.

Great Location! Amazing deal.
We stayed at the Nautical Nest from June 19 through June 28, 2019. This was our first trip to Bonaire, and we would love to come back! The communication with Karin was phenomenal, and she went out of her way to help us at every turn. She was so easy to reach and open to all questions and concerns we had. We learned so much from her in the short time we had. The property is located right on the main road in front of the ocean. This does lead to it being somewhat noisier than other places we've stayed, but we understood what we were signing up for and the noise was not a problem. You are so close to restaurants (and believe me, Bonaire has some of the best we have ever eaten at for the price). Additionally, you can walk to shops, the museum, coffee shops, ice cream, and the list goes on. There is no better place to be at sunset than on the porch of this property. There is a pool that is easily accessible behind the restaurant right next door, and it is virtually unused but extremely clean and lovely. I can't say enough about this property, it is such a deal. We were just a couple using it, but it easily could accommodate more guests with the 2nd bedroom and couch. The only drawback there is, for those folks who sit home all day, is the construction going on directly behind the property. We were rarely home during the day, so the only inconvenience was the excessive dust, which could not be helped. We would much rather have had the breeze and the dust as the apartment was kept cool from the breeze. We did use the AC in the bedroom at night. The construction is scheduled to be done in December, so it won't go on forever! We actually chuckled often listening to the workers in the morning, as it always sounded like they were mad at each other but they were just working and having fun. We really did not concern ourselves with it, but if you are very sensitive and not prone to interruptions, then be forewarned. Also, the property is on the 3rd floor, and not for handicapped. Lastly, all appliances were great, and the grill was used also while we were there. There are just so many amenities to the Nautical Nest that it is well worth the trip and the price. Thank you Karin for all of your help!

We had a great time staying in this condo! The view was amazing and plenty of room to hang and dry all of our dive gear each night! The location is perfect for walking to all the shops and restaurants downtown. Every morning I enjoyed a peaceful walk to get a cappuccino. A great way to start the day!

This penthouse is in the middle of everything. Considered other places to stay, and saw them after we arrived and this is the best choice. The view alone was worth it. The location is exceptional. I have only one thing to say that is not as positive, the place needs some maintenance and attention to detail. Can’t wait to come back

Overviewing the boulevard, located just outside of town centre, with an amazing 180 degrees view over the big blue and Klein Bonaire, location will not get better. Not obstructed by cruise ships the best spot for a sunset is on the roof terrace. Just a little rumor from the restaurant next-door, just to prevent from feeling lonely;-)) The apartment has it all, well equipped kitchen, spacy bathrooms, BBQ, all is there. The furniture does seem a little outdated but it all works and nothing is overly worn or broken. We had a great stay, nice host, hearty welcome. Next-door a new apartment building was constructed (jan'19) and for the little disturbance this created we were nicely compensated a bit.

Our group of 3 divers had a wonderful stay at the Nautical Nest, the top floor of the 3-story building pictured. The caretaker was FABULOUS, - had cold beer in the fridge upon arrival, and assisted us in getting a rental truck when AVIS lost our reservation - probably the last truck on the island since it was Carnival Week. Would stay there again in a minute!

Fabulous location in Kralendijk. Penthouse floor of a 3-story building, loads of space with all the amenities. Spacious kitchen and living room, enormous deck with BBQ and serving bar! Would definitely come back. Host Karin is great and ensures a comfortable stay. One tiny negative - neighbouring restaurant dumps its glass bottles and trash around midnight, which can make for a rude awakening.

Fantastic
What to say about Nautical Nest. Well first of all Herman and Augusta, the owners were great. they provided every information we ask for and more. then on arrival Karin het caretaker provided the housetour and informed us about the appartement. she even provided some first neccesaries, like bread, tea, jelly, white wine, nuts etc. because we arrives late in the evening. she left a telephone in the apartment so if we need to contact anybody we could do so. the appartement was better than described and seen on the photo's. 3x AC, 1 in every bathroom and 1 in the living room. in every room there was a ceiling fan, even outside on the large deck. on this deck we had our beers and cocktails every afternoon and evening, looking at the Port of Kralendijk, with her sailing boats, yachts, etc. In the morning we had breakfast on the small balcony in front of the living room overseeing the water. Best view was to see a cruise ship lying in port, and see the business in Kralendijk. we never had trouble going to sleep because there was noise. Yes of course there is a route in front of the appartement and yes It rains fishes, a restaurant sits besides you, but after 11.00pm it all quiets down and the hole town goes to sleep. the appartement is just 100 - 200m from centre of town with all of the restaurants, shops etc. which is very convenient. For a supermarket (van der Tweel or Warehouse) you need a car, but we rented one so no deal. we needed the car also to visit many of the snorkeling spots, washington Slagbaai the national parc, and to visit Sorobon. small Bonaire is also a great place to visit, for snorkeling, diving or just sitting on the beach. the ferry to this island is just in front of the appartement. O yes we loved the place and we will come back some time to snorkel and relax. Awesome!
We stayed for a week over Christmas, and everything went great. The local manager, Karin, met us at the apartment and showed us how everthing worked, and made sure we had what we needed. The penthouse is very well equipped and has everything that you will need, including a cell phone with Karin's number in case you need to get in contact with her. We didn't though, as everything went smoothly. We used the barbeque grill on the deck several times, and what a great view overlooking the water. Just a short walk to the center of town, with plenty of bars and restaraunts nearby. If you are diving, Karin gave us a 20% discount coupon for all our diving with Dive Friends Bonaire. Herman, the owner, was good to work with via email during the booking process. As a previous poster mentioned there was some noise, but it most definitely was not a problem. This will be where we stay again the next time we rerurn to Bonaire.

We emigrated from Holland to the USA in 1968 ; both changed to US citizenship. The family is fond of diving , so we have visited Bonaire since 1988 and after vacationing in other Caribbean diving resorts we selected Bonaire as the best choice. After we retired we purchased this condo.

Why they chose this property

Bonaire is a mix of Dutch , American and Lt American influences . Low crime rates and friendly people were important factors for us to choose Bonaire , besides the diving.

What makes this property unique

We walk to the town , to shopping , to restaurants . In the USA we have to drive 3 miles to the nearest store, so this location is a totally different experience . Relaxed living and enjoying the cultural sights and sounds of Bonaire , makes us come back 3 times a year.
