A cozy spot that's close to everything

We enjoyed our visit to Dennis and our stay here. It was within walking distance to the beach and places to grab a bite to eat.

Great stay on Scargo Lake

The lake is so beautiful and peaceful. Great location, near lots of good restaurants and places. Verity, the host, communicated well. A lovely place to stay on Cape Cod on a freshwater pond.

Cape Cod trip

Perfect location for us, very close to ocean, Dennis stores, other family. Lovely location on Scargo lake. Our host was vey helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. It was wonderful we had A/C since it was a very hot week.

Sweet and cozy on Scargo Lake

The house shares the property with another place with full access to Scargo Lake at one end and lots of lawn near 6A. We found the place clean and inviting and the bedrooms cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was small but adequate for our needs. Great location in Dennis, would stay again!

Fantastic stay on the Cape!

From the moment we arrived we felt at ease. The location is perfect for a vacation on Cape Cod. We were so close to several beaches and our family really enjoyed the Mayflower beach both after 5 pm and during the day. The lake access was a blast for our kids as well. The property was well maintained and we couldn’t believe all of the space we had to relax. Overall Verity was a wonderful host. She was easily accessible and had helpful ideas on how to enjoy the stay. We would love to return to the property and can highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a great family vacation!

Location Location Location

We enjoyed our 2 week stay on Scargo Lake. We especially enjoyed the quietness and privacy of the house and location. Easy to walk around town and wonderful restaurants so close. Having a beautiful sandy bottom lake in your backyard was definitely a plus, we swam every day for hours. In the evening we watched the duck family swim by. We even caught a fish. No need to go to the beach although they are close by. We made lovely meals as well. Verity was a very attentive host. The beds were very comfortable. Would definitely return.

The Real Cape Cod

It has been many years since I have felt the "Real Cape Cod". I have been a homeowner and vacationer on the Cape for 60 years. The cottage was cozy, comfortable and easy to care for. The amenities are up to date and the location is perfect. There were days that I never left the property. Scargo Lake is wonderful for swimming and kayaking. What a wonderful way to get away from the 21st century. ( With Wifi and Television, too)!

A cottage of Cape Cod history on a clean, calm and peaceful lake. This property is one of two cottages on a large grassy expanse, where rabbits, birds and native summer sweet bushes dot the lawn. Updates have been made to the exterior and the inside has been well loved by the owner but maintained over the years. Renters will find a slightly rustic but very quaint experience. Dennis is a quiet town, centrally located on the Cape. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming on Scargo Lake, and being in close proximity to Bayside beaches. A 30-50 minute drive gets you to the national parks on the truly majestic National seashore and Provincetown, making day trips a breeze. The property owner is very friendly, kind and offered interesting details about the history of the area. Overall a great stay and fair pricing for the rental.

A Very Special Place

Thank you very much for a delightful stay. An ideal location with all the amenities of home. The owner was extremely tentative to ensuring we were acclimated to the property and features. Would not hesitate in recommending this wonderful vacation spot.

Year Two at the Guest Cottage

This was my second year staying at the Guest Cottage. I was able to be alone for the first 4 days of my stay. It felt like I was back in my childhood when we stayed in Brewster. Crickets at night, breakfast, lunch and dinner on the patio, kayaking and swimming in the lake and checking out some of the new stores in Dennis Village. I Love This House!

Fabulous retreat

We had a fabulous week at the cottage. It was perfect, well stocked, convenient and comfortable. We swam in the lake daily as well as spent hours at all 4 awesome north Dennis beaches. The owner's instructions were clear and terrifically helpful. Wonderful experience.

Perfect Cottage for a Wedding Weekend

We had an amazing time in Verity's two homes right on Scargo Lake. We rented them both as the bride's house for a Wedding weekend that occurred at The Dennis Inn nearby. The houses had everything we could have wanted AND MORE! We loved the boat house with full bar setup and used the kayak and canoe to paddle across the lake and meet some friends. The yard was picturesque and was a perfect setting for our bridal photos! We would definitely recommend this place, especially for a large family or friend gathering.

Great Location!

My family (myself, my husband and 3 kids ages 21,18 and 13) stayed at this cottage the first week of July. The location is perfect! Right on Scargo Lake and less than 1 mile from the bayside beach. Dennis is a great area, it's not too crowded, there are plenty of restaurants and if you want more excitement the busier ares (Hyannis,Chatham,etc.)are a short drive away. The property was very clean. There was enough room for the 5 of us.The kitchen, though small, was well equipped although we did very little cooking. We used the outdoor tables and chairs to eat our meals.There are a variety of restaurants nearby as well as a small grocery store. It was great to have a kayak and a canoe available. The sailboat was too complicated so we didn't use that. It was great to just sit in one of the lawn chairs in the morning with a cup of tea and enjoy the quiet. The owner,Verity, was very easy to work with. She was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY! A MUST STAY!

PERFECT location. Close to everything! This cottage was quaint, cozy, clean and well maintained. It had all the necessities. It was extremely comfortable. The cottage was real cape cod! It looked small from the outside but its very deceiving. It was not small inside. The living space was perfect. The bedrooms had air conditioning and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had 4 adults and 3 teen children in our party and fit comfortably. We truly LOVED the cottage. The property is huge and it was awesome having the lake with a sailboat, canoe and kayak while walking distance to the beautiful beaches. I was able to satisfy the entire family! The homeowners were extremely flexible and helpful! You can not go wrong with this rental at all! DO IT!
