Cat Nap Cottage: Hot Tub, Ocean Views

Cat Nap Cottage is perched by the 1st fairway of The Currituck Club golf course and has access to all of the resort's amenities. Enjoy the outdoor patio with a gas grill area and a hot tub. [Note: No dogs or other animals are allowed in this home.]

TOP LEVEL
The large Great Room offers a comfortable living area for guests to relax, enjoy conversation or view a favorite program on the large flat-screen TV. Also there is access to the back deck with deck chairs to enjoy the views. There are 2 separate dining tables; one table seats 8 and the other seats 6. An office area with desk is available if guests need some private time to work on their vacation. The contemporary kitchen has granite countertops and updated appliances. The kitchen island has a double sink and seats 4 at the counter. There is access to small balcony at the front of the house to see ocean views. [Note: gas fireplace is not available for guest use.]

MID LEVEL:
The first King Master Suite at the front of the house has a flat-screen TV with front deck access; a large tiled shower is in its master bath. The Pyramid Bunk Jr. Master Suite (with a Trundle under lower bunk) has access to the semi-private bath with shower/tub combo. The second King Master Suite has a flat-screen TV and is located at the back of the house; its master bath also has a tiled shower. This bedroom has access to the back deck with west views to the fairway and overlooking the patio with the hot tub below. The laundry area is conveniently located on this floor.

GROUND LEVEL:
The Queen Jr. Master Suite has a flat-screen TV and its semi-private bath (shower/tub combo) is shared with the game area. The Pool table is in the middle of the floor, ready to challenge family members for a few rounds. The kitchen has a sink and a second full-size refrigerator that is handy to store beverages and meal items because the covered grill area is just outside on the back patio. This patio is a delightful gathering spot to enjoy the hot tub and outdoor dining. There is parking for 2 vehicles in the front driveway.

EXTRAS:
As guests within The Currituck Club, a premier-gated community and resort, your family can use its various amenities including free trolley service to the beach access and beach valet service (summer months only), a Clubhouse with on-site dining, a large community pool with kiddie pool at the main entrance, a Fitness Center, and courts for tennis, basketball, volleyball and pickleball. There are planned kids' activities offered during the summer and paths for walking and bike riding. Golfers in the family can make reservations to play the 18-hole course that is landscaped throughout the resort with sound and ocean views.

Great amenities near the house and it was great having the Harris Teeter and the Duck Donuts nearby. The house was nice and the top floor was great and was very comfortable for the nine of us.

Wonderful vacation

Loved this house and the amenities of the club. Would have like to be a little closer to the beach but the beach trolley was awesome. This house had it all for a fun family vacation. Outer banks was a huge hit with my family and this house was a huge hit as well.

The house was beautiful. The layout was perfect, and all the amenities were great. The problem was the ants and spiders. We threw away a lot of food, because the first morning we woke up, ants were in all our food that was on the counters. Also, spiders had webs spun across the doorways on the inside of the house. We had to be exterminators, buying ant bait and buying baggies to seal up our food. Could be a nice place if the whole house was gone over by a pest control specialist.

Cap Nap Easter Break

Nice location. Rented the house for the use of hot tub and fire place outside. Hot tub broke before we got there and could not use it at all. Homeowner offered a $175 refund for the 5 days. I felt it should have been more. My kids were so upset that hot tub did not work. Fireplace was fixed in a day but still annoying to have to make calls on your vacation. Outside of house was dirty needed to be cleaned for season. Golf course was really great I'd recommend playing. Loved that the gym nice and clean. Food store was a stones throw away so it was convenient. Nice beach and gold location if that is what you are looking for.

Beautiful place but needs deep cleaning

Loved the neighboorhood and access to all facilities and beach trolley. The property needed better cleaning service. I had to dust all over several furnitures surfaces and beds because of so much dust (if you find it clean after Aug 20 then it was all us LOL) and even had to clean a little extra the bathroom. I know is a big property but really some deep cleaning once a month should be done. From the pictures I thought the patio area and surroundings were much bigger or more open space and it is not, it is a big house in a smaller lot. But it was still nice, cool view of the fields and felt secure enough for the kids except too many nice things and decor around the house that were a bit concerning and the 3 levels from the ground/patio to the upstairs common area. So we were always worried about the kids falling down the stairs and it was harder for my in laws with legs/knees problems. I do recommend for healthier families or with older children and have more than 1 car available. We had an emergency and reaching a medical facility was 30mins away.

Great house

The house had a prefect location. Groceries within 2 minute walk. My kids loved all the extras at the club house. Back yard was beautiful. Wish the beach was within walking distance and the house/ dishes could of been a little cleaner. It's a great house and look forward to another visit.

The house is nice…Kitchen was well stocked..Appliances were great…The only negative was cleanliness..Inside was ok ..Still needed a little more attention..Just had a spot on sheet an took it off an washed it an it came right out for me..Had already slept in bed one night tho..:(. We just had to clean grill an decks b4 we could use them.. Also garage area was dirty..Would b easy fix in garage area..It is a beautiful home just needs to have about another 1 1/2 dedication to cleaning..Would def stay again if this issue would b addresses..:)

July 2021 Stay at Cat Nap Cottage

The property was in a good location and had some nice amenities. Property had not been cleaned well, as rooms had not been thoroughly cleaned with trash and open alcohol left in one of the bedrooms. Also would recommend they do a little extermination as the outdoor kitchen and porches were overrun with spiders which made it a challenge to enjoy.

Amazing house!

First time staying in Corolla and it definitely lived up to our expectation. We arrived early and after a quick call to the management, we were able to check in a few hours early. The house was clean, all linens were wrapped in plastic to ensure cleanliness. The kitchen was amazing. Well stocked with every utensil possible. Nice quality cookware made cooking meals enjoyable. Of note, though, there were no spices/oils/coffee filters, so we had to start from scratch. Also no soaps in any bathrooms, so you really do need to pack everything. This may be because we were the first in the season to rent the house. But because of covid, there was no liquid hand soaps in local stores around the house. Not a huge deal, but I would have packed soaps, salt/pepper etc ahead of time.... The backyard set up was perfect. The grill was easy to use as was the hot tub. The fire pit worked well, but there wasn't any instructions or any lighters to light the fire pit. Once we figured it out, we enjoyed it in the evenings. The swings in the backyard were probably my favorite thing in the house. The house is situated right before the guard shack, so you don't have to go through the entrance each time you leave and come back. Easy walk to pool, tennis courts, grocery store, and of course you can see the 1st tee on the golf course. We enjoyed watching sunsets on the back porches and sunrises on the front porches. We would definitely stay in this home again.

Nice location for golf. Beach access for teens and kids is a schlep. Multiple problems with grill, toilets and refrigerator. House was not very clean when arrived. The grill had no propane and looked like it had not been cleaned in three years. Toilets clogged upon arrival and then twice during stay. Spent too much time calling property manager to fix things. At least they were responsive. House needs a good scrub in between rentals.

Wonderful property! Had a great week there.

Very good! Would recommend leaving a broom at kitchen with dustpan. And maybe a better sweeper for daily quick clean ups. Otherwise everything was super updated, clean and warm & welcoming. We enjoyed every level, especially the bottom level with the pool table and outdoor entertainment patio.

Lovely home and perfect for our family. The fact that there were three floors meant if you needed to get away from four active children, you could. LOL! Position was convenient for the club, last minute shopping and views. Very well appointed and perfect for calling the trolley for the beach. You might want to check the dryer, as the lint catch is broken and spews lint into the outside shower. The new grill was delivered after a quick call to management after the old one would not light. Overall it was positives, but it’s in need of some upgrades and not ideal for multi children groups.

The dryer needs to be replaced. The lint catch is broken and sends lint into the outdoor the shower. Furthermore, the dryer also had rust on the inside of it. The cleaning could be better. There were a slew of dead bugs on arrival. Some of the kitchen utensils could be upgraded. It’s a great property, but needs some money sent its way. Also the AC gave out while we were there. It was fixed quickly, but still made an uncomfortable 36 hours.

Very relaxing and peaceful vacation!

The cat nap cottage was very spacious! We enjoyed using all the balconies ( action in the front and quiet in the back). There were lots of cobwebs on the outside furniture but other than that it was mostly clean! Very convenient trolley to the beach and in around the currituck club. We would definitely rent again!

The house is beautiful! We felt it was in a great location. It was clean and everything in perfect order. The only downside was that the kitchen wasn't as well equipped as it could have been. For example, there wasn't a potato masher. But nothing that couldn't be worked around. It didn't ruin our stay! This was our first time in obx at the Currituck club. This won't be our last. The amenities included while staying there were great. The beach trolley is such a nice amenity. Pool, Harris Teeter, Duck Donuts (my favorite lol) is all with in walking distance. We came from dreary Ohio, and this was such a breath of fresh air. Literally!

Amazing stay so far!

We are currently renting this place for 6 weeks during off peak season. It's so peaceful here. We are only a few doors down from the golf and health club and just a short walk to the beach. So convenient, I don't understand why anyone would need the trolly. This is the best street in the entire community. It's close to everything but far from everyone all at the same time. I wouldn't consider anywhere else. We are quite particular too owning a luxury Vrbo rental in north Scottsdale.

Thanks again, Ben!The outdoor grill and fireplace did not work and were featured as amenities. The cleaning service was average upon check-in. The trolley service will not drop off in the neighborhood. You need to walk down the main pool for pick-up and wait time is average of 20 minutes for pick up to get to beach. View of the golf course and ocean were great.

Anyone that considers renting this house should be prepared to walk up and down the stairs frequently since the front door is upstairs and the kitchen and bedrooms are on different floors. Also, the trolley service will not pick up or drop off guests on Cottage Lane, which is where the house is located. As a result, the guests must carry all of their beach furniture, toys, coolers, etc., several blocks to the fitness center to be picked up by the trolley.
