"Casa Bonita" a great place for families looking to get away from it all! Wake up to the wild horses in beautiful Carova. Step outside to view the breathtaking ocean vistas and the smell of salty air. Everyone will enjoy the hot tub and furnished decks. The cook will appreciate the well equipped kitchen and the kids will enjoy the porch swings.

This home is a short drive or walk (approximately 550 feet) across the dune from the pristine northern beaches. Carova is renowned for wide, clean beaches - some of the most beautiful on the OBX. There are miles of unspoiled coastline to explore. Watch the wild horses grazing, dolphins playing in the surf and pelicans soaring above the water! Head in to Corolla to enjoy local attractions and visit local restaurants.

A four-wheel drive vehicle is required to navigate 4x4 Carova Beach area. While there are no paved roads, the views of roaming wild horses and open shoreline are breathtaking. Driving conditions in 4x4 Carova may be impacted by heavy rain and/or surge and could result in inaccessibility at times. Driving through water is not suggested and may cause damage to vehicles. Knowing information on the rising and falling of tides can be helpful as well. Cellular service may also be unreliable in this remote destination so we advise planning accordingly and taking extra precaution when entering and exploring the beautiful Carova 4x4 Beaches.

Needs some TLC great location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is clean and nicely furnished and supplied with essentials. Dual zone AC is great. Recommend the stove be replaced. The burners don’t adjust and just get hotter and hotter no matter the setting. Could be a fire hazard. Views from deck are awesome, but the deck is worn, splintered and needs to be refinished. The yard also needs to be trimmed. Grass is growing around the grill making it hard to use. The driveway is really only big enough for one vehicle. Water filter should be added to get rid of sulphur smell.Overall a nice place at a reasonable price that could use some upkeep/maintenance.

Very decent stay in carova

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was nice, a bit outdated but overall ok. The appliances are in need of some serious tlc or replacement. The beds too. But overall it’s a good house for what it is; a beach house in carova. You can’t beat the location and the view from the deck is great. The porch swing broke on one of our guests on a day 1 of our stay, which we didn’t care about too much, you could tell it had been waiting to break for years, the rental company was quick to respond, even though there’s not much to be done about it. Would I rent this house again? Maybe. But if another house with a pool was available in that price point then I would pass. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful panoramic views of the ocean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Genesis with Beach Realty was very friendly and professional. She was very prompt and made the process very smooth and quick. The house was perfect for us. The owners really added so many small details and added touches. Kitchen was well stocked with very nice knives which is an added plus. It’s a beautiful house and we had beautiful weather all week, opening all the windows to hear the ocean waves. Lots of airflow and a beautiful sunroom off the kitchen. This house has a lot of charm! My only complaint was the floors were not vacuumed or mopped. There were cheerios everywhere on the living room floor and under the tables and sofas and food/drink stains on the kitchen floor and laminate floors. Counter tops were not wiped down. They were dirty and sandy. Overall, we would rent this house again without hesitation.

With the exception of smelly tap water (sulfur) and no linens in bedrooms. Everything else was just great.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Good home non-ocean front home. I believe the listing is ocean view, though be aware the direct path has a rather large home. Well equipped kitchen with all the necessities. We brought out own grill, knowing the park style grill would not suffice. Very steep dune incline when walking to the beach. Only complaint is there were no puzzles and only 1 game and the driveway was very tight fitting an large SUV and a pickup truck. Management sent conflicting information about beach parking pass, which are now provided in the home on the fridge (2 passes). We went into a panic prior to finding this out when the visitors office was sold out off passes for the week & it did pose a problem prior to check-in, as we weren't permitted to park at the house nor compliant with parking on the beach. Put a damper on the first day of vacation when we typically arrive in town by noon and check-in isn't until 4-6pm.

Casa Bonita

This property was perfect for our large family stay. The main floor is upstairs & includes a kitchen, living room, sun room, bedroom & attached bathroom with 3 exits to a large balcony. The kitchen is big enough to cook in for a large family, with the few meals we did make. The living room is spacious, but has limited seating. The dining area has enough seating for 10, not including the 4 barstools with counter space. There is a basement entrance from outside with an unfinished staircase to the lower level. That staircase isn’t as steep as the stairs on the exterior which made it much more bearable carry lots of luggage & small kids. There was no deadbolt on the inside main door, which made it difficult with toddlers that could reach. There is a small washer & dryer on the lower level. The lower level also has 3 bedrooms & two bathrooms. That space does feel small but was okay since the living area was so big. There is access from the lower master bedroom to the lower deck & hot tub. The kitchen was full of dishes. The only complaint we really had was the smell from the drains. Anytime we washed clothes/showered/used the sinks at all, a very ‘rotten egg’ smell came out. The smell really didn’t linger long as long as nothing was being washed down the drains. The AC also wouldn’t go any lower than 67, which seems pretty low, but not for the extremely hot temperatures. The upstairs AC wouldn’t keep up with the rising temperatures through the day, or even cooking. The location was pretty great! We were just a short drive over the dunes away from the ocean. Tips for driving on the sand: air down to 10-16 psi. It makes for a much smoother ride. Research high tide & low tide. During high tide, you will have to drive in the water. It was never too deep when we stayed & our vehicle moved through it well. There are tons & tons of ruts that jerked us around from time to time, but nothing too extreme. Overall, driving on the beach was a blast. It was fun for the adults & the kids.
