Great place. Very clean inside. We enjoyed the ping pong table. Very well stocked with plates, silverware and pots/cooking stuff. Clean fridge. Big bedrooms. Would stay again.

Great location with easy access to airport, Maryville, Townsend, and Knoxville. Secluded and very quiet nestled in the woods. House had everything needed to accommodate and allowed us to make day trips easily.

My family stayed there for my wedding and they loved it. It was not far from the venue and perfect location for gathering and fun.

Location was perfect for moving around the Knoxville and Smokey Mtn area. Hosts were very accommodating and available when we needed them. We felt the cleaning crew could have done a better sweep of the house but that was an easy fix

Unfortunately, we had a cleaning crew that showed up late for a same day turnaround. The cleaning crew offered to clean the home while the guests were there, but the guests declined. We did waive their pet fee for the inconvenience. Our cleaning crew has been reliable for several years but unfortunately, they had an issue. We offered to clean the entire homw but guests declined. We are sorry for the condition. - Mark

Great Smoky Mountain getaway

We chose this property for the proximity to The Great Smoky Mountain Half Marathon race Check in was easy and the manager/owner was very accommodating. We all enjoyed our time at the property. We did have to do some minor housekeeping When we arrived but overall it met out expectations

Hosts are very nice. Cleaning crew seems to cut corners. Mattresses need to be replaced. Activities in the home for the kids were appreciated.

Smoky Mountain Bike Week

Remote and isolated with little traffic. Perfect for those who wish for solitude. Ride up the hill might be a little tricky for the uninitiated but can be overcome with a little practice.

Family Fun Vacation

When we got there, it appeared that the landscaper had not been there for a awhile but, the inside was was clean and the accommodations were more than adequate for my family. The A/C was imperative during a week of 90 degree weather and functioned admirably. The game room was a hit with the grandsons.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time, plenty of room for 2 babies in walkers to explore, fun with the ping pong table. The hill up to the house was a little scary at first as it was raining when we arrived. There were several spiders that we encountered in the house but we were surrounded by nature so that’s not surprising. There is a little box turtle that lives behind the house and a friendly black cat that came to visit a couple of times. The house is really big with comfortable beds, and nice big bathrooms.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Yearly getaway

The 2 week getaway was wonderful. The only thing was I had to do some cleaning when i got there, it wasnt quite ready. Two beds werent made. The floors needed vacuuming and swiffering and the paper wasps were scary.

Young, Wild and Three Birthday of our Grandson

We absolutely loved the location of this beautiful home. It was just like the pictures show everything is on one level except the game room is a few steps down. It was close to everything we needed or wanted to see. The only minor problem we encountered was it was too quiet for our sleeping taste. I would suggest a small fan in the room for that. We did not light a fire in the fireplace but it was beautiful to just sit in front of it without one. Looking forward to our next visit to the area next year.

Hidden Gem

We absolutely loved this house. Perfect size for a group of 8. Enjoyed all the fun in Pigeon Forge then came back and relaxed away from the chaos. There’s a river 2 minutes away that you can take some tubes and just relax the day away. All the people we met were so kind. The host was great and answered whenever we needed something. We made it to the area earlier than expected and once the house was cleaned they let us know and allowed us to get there early. If we make it back to Tennessee definitely coming back to this house.

Perfect for Grandparents and Family

The property setting is absolutely gorgeous, even in late fall with no leaves on the trees. It is private and cozy. With four bedrooms and three baths, everyone had plenty of room to spread out. I have a disability whereby I must use a walker. There is an entrance straight in from the parking area where I was able to get in with minimal difficulty. The walk-in shower was wonderful, also, for this purpose. The area with the ping-pong table has two steps down, but I wasn't going down there anyway. The children and Grandpa loved that feature! All of the other amenities were also perfect for our group. Hope to stay there again on another family visit sometime.

Review

I gave low score due to several issues, 1: The electronic lock is on the side of the home with at least a 24 inch high step. I am on a walker so my wife had to climb up to get to the door to enter the code. 2: going from the parking area to the door facing parking lighting at night is bad and there is a lip where the concrete is a little higher that is not visable at night, my wife did not see the offset tripped and fell. We lost one day of our vacation with her bing down. 3: the bedding is horrible, the couch is low and dated. If you are considering this location and are disabled or elderly I would jot recommend this location.

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. We have hosted many families with grandparents that enjoyed the single level space and the stair-free access from the parking area to the 2nd bedroom entrance, as well as the walk-in showers. The step that is along the sidewalk to the side door, is about 8 inches, not 24 inches. I am not familiar with the lip you are talking about, we have never had any issues with that. Same with the lighting. We have motion sensor lights on the barn to light up the sidewalk to the house, and another light next to the house, as you walk closer to the door. As for the bedding, we have not had complaints about the bedding or furniture. I am sorry it wasn't comfortable for you.

This is a great location for visiting the Foothills and driving “The Dragon”. The property seems to be a work in progress. The landscaping is pretty overgrown and while there is a patio table and chairs it’s not conducive to comfortably enjoying spending time outside. There were boxes of household items and bags of trash just sitting on the driveway beside the garage which was the first thing we saw when entering the driveway. Not a great first impression. As stated in other reviews, the cleanliness was lacking. There was a very large spot of a sticky substance in the kitchen floor. Possibly a leaking trash bag had been on the floor and then wasn’t mopped up. We enjoyed the ping pong table. We used the fireplace our last night and the smell of smoke was overwhelming throughout the house even though we made sure the flue was open and kept the bedroom door closed. I’ve never had an indoor fireplace so I don’t know if that’s expected but it wasn’t a great nights sleep with the strong smell of smoke. We would have enjoyed an outdoor fire pit with comfortable seating more. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and mostly comfortable although the mattress seemed to be old. Overall the property and furnishings were average to slightly below average for a stay at this price point.

Disappointed

Upon our arrival we immediately thought the house was abandoned we thought we were possibly at the wrong location my husband double checked and confirmed it was the right house. The landscaping is very overgrown looks nothing like the pictures that are posted it’s very unmanaged.He got out to look around and said it looks ok on the inside so we entered the house as we walked in it smelled like a forest fire had just been put out. I went throughout the house inspecting everything the bathrooms were not very clean there was hair all over the shower floors and in one bathroom it looked it the toilet had not even been cleaned it had urine on the toilet under the lid with hair, the other bathroom we couldn’t use because the chain in the tank kept coming off. The bathroom with blue tile had a white rug that smelled like very old urine I had to remove the rug and hang it outside.I found cleaning supplies and cleaned the bathrooms so we could use them. I found dishes in the dishwasher that had mold on them so at that point I felt it was necessary to wash any dish we used. The walkway outside to the door has a 16 inch step which my husband states that is not per code and is a very hazardous step for children and elderly. The door that leads to the downstairs had the keys in the door and should probably have a padlock on it because that could be hazardous to wondering children. I should have called immediately and let you know but I was trying to make the best of the situation.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. With regard to the condition of the property, it is in a rural, forested area in the mountains. There is no landscaping other than the natural setting of the forest that surrounds the property and the Smoky Mountains. With regard to the cleanliness of the home, I am very sorry that there were issues. We have never had a problem with our cleaning crew, but obviously there was an issue this time. In the future, if you have issues with cleanliness, please reach out to your host so that we can remedy the situation and make sure that everything is cleaned as it should be. As is stated in the listing, there is stair free access to the home through the patio. Finally, in the Welcome Guide provided, it mentions the door leading to the basement being off limits to the kids so that the guest can lock the door and keep the keys away from any children. Access to the basement is necessary in case there is an issue with the breaker panel. Finally, there is a woodburning fireplace and it has an odor. Again, if the odor is more than it should be, please contact your host so that we can remedy the situation. For anyone reading this response, please contact your host with any issues. I appreciate trying to make the best of things, but that is not the level of service hosts are striving for and the only way to reach that level is if we are made aware of issues. Sincerely, Mark
