Beautiful Balsam Lake Retreat-2Hammocks on Balsam

Year round lakehouse/cottage on Balsam Lake in the Kawarthas. Enjoy the lake via the spectacular dock or by kayak, paddle board, canoe or on the ice in winter. The lakehouse has all the comforts of home but the real attraction is the sandbar location on Balsam Lake and it’s peaceful tranquility and crystal clear water. Fall asleep listening to the loons while the fire crackles. See the reflection of Venus shimmering on the lake and be inspired by the Milky Way. Enjoy the sunset from a hammock!

Lovely property on a beautiful lake. All amenities were top notch and lots of outdoor activities. Evening vibe around the bonfire was awesome - great location and string lights lakeside made it magical. Doug was an awesome host and answered all questions in a timely and thorough manner.

Wonderful cottage for a peaceful long weekend

We spent a most relaxing weekend, with our three teenagers and small dog at this beautiful place. The location, on Balsam Lake is fantastic. The cottage is luxurious, well- maintained and equipped. The landlord was kind to provide all directions and further support. We will certainly consider returning to this location!

We had an amazing stay! After a last-minute cancellation from another host left us stranded, VRBO found this host who stepped in and was incredibly accommodating. Communication was stellar from start to finish; he clearly outlined where everything was and was always available for questions. The property itself was immaculate, perfectly organized, and everything was thoughtfully labelled.Because it was a long weekend, there was a three-day booking minimum required even though we only stayed for two. While we would have preferred more flexibility since the property wasn't fully booked, the extra day did allow us to enjoy a much later, stress-free check-out.The views from the dock were absolutely beautiful and the kayaks were in excellent condition. Highly recommend!"

Perfect getaway home on the water

Outstanding host… engaging, helpful, responsive, and informative. Amenities are plentiful. Beautiful and clean home in the perfect location. Easy dock for boat when docking or disembarking. Sunsets are spectacular. Private waterfront yard. Lots of space. Conveniently located for easy access to town/shopping. Everything was as advertised, and more. Easy access to marina. What a perfect week’s stay we had. Love this place!
