The home features beautiful exposed beams, hardwood floors throughout, custom built cabinets, plus a large fireplace. Activities for all seasons abound outside your front door. In summer, there is swimming, biking and hiking; in winter, cross country skiing, sledding and snowmobiling. For lake lovers in the summer, Caspian Lake in Greensboro is only 5 minutes away. For downhill lovers in winter, Stowe and Jay Peak are less than an hour away.
New to the home, in response to popular demand, are WiFi and air-conditioning.

This was an amazing house to stay in. My large family was able have quality time together because of the thoughtful interior space. My father passed away last spring and we were missing him, but being together in this house brought some peace and comfort. The host was good about checking in with us and making sure our time in this house went well.
“Wonderful stay! The property was spotless, exactly as described, and in a perfect location. The host was responsive and made everything easy. We’d love to come back!”
This was our fifth straight year staying at Tom’s house and we had another great weekend! We easily fit six families in the six bedrooms. We love the well-stocked kitchen and open kitchen/dining/living rooms. The layout is perfect for hanging out while making large meals. At the same time, it’s easy to take a break and rest/nap in the bedrooms. Downstairs, there’s a large bedroom with king bed just off the living area with a bathroom with large tub and separate shower right next to it (not en suite). There’s also a smaller bedroom downstairs with queen bed and en suite bathroom with tub/shower. Upstairs, there’s a large bedroom with queen bed, two smaller bedrooms with a queen bed, and a large bedroom with four twin beds. Upstairs there’s a small bathroom with shower and a larger bathroom that I think has a tub and shower. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year!
We rode a couple different sections of the rail trail and had the house as a place to land at the end of the day. Clean, beds are comfortable and just about any amenity you could ask for. Beautiful spot!
The house and property were wonderful. Lots of great spaces, indoors and outdoors to gather. We loved hanging out at the pool, preparing meals in the well equipped kitchen and eating on the screened porch. The location is spectacular with beautiful views and great walks right out the door. Our host was very responsive and gave of us lots of helpful information about the house and the area.
This was our fourth time staying at Tom’s house for a winter weekend with a large group of friends (which now includes young kids). We love the location, close to Craftsbury Outdoor Center and Hill Fsrmstead, and that you can have dogs. Kitchen is stocked to cook for a group. And plenty of room for a large group! We’re planning to be back next year!
We have stayed at this property 5 times since 2016 and it remains our very favorite place to get away from it all. Tom is a great host and the house is just so comfortable. We will be back again.
This is an amazing place hidden away in the backwoods of Vermont. Very private with everything you could need. The host is very responsive, ask any questions and be sure to read his welcome email carefully, there are some good local tips in there!

Great place for family vacation
We had four generations stay for a week of
family fun. Enjoyed the pool and well equipped kitchen and amenities throughout the house. Only downside to our stay is some maintenance on some of the screens needing repairs (a lot of flies) and pool house needing cleaning upon arrival. Would definitely recommend for large family gathering.

Response from VrboOwner on Mar 30, 2020
This group of renters were terrific guests, and certainly would be welcome back any time. I regret that there may have been any inconveniences, even if minor.
With regard to the screens. All screens were repaired, where needed, at the start of the summer. A number of guests had pets, and perhaps that is how some screens got punched out. I do not know for certain, though, and I am not suggesting that this group was responsible in any way. I only regret that they were the group that first reported it to me. Unfortunately, when this sort of mishap happens, often it isn't reported until well after a group's departure. Consequently, it isn't always addressed immediately. Once informed, though, I do respond, and the screens have been repaired, again.
With regard to the pool house, not entirely sure how best to respond, or if there is any real concern here. I'm pretty sure the renters are referring to the maintenance room in the pool house, and not the separate changing/towel/bathing suits room. The maintenance room contains all the machinery for the pool - filters, pumps, etc, ....plus an old john, which effectively is never used . From my point of view, there should be no reason for guests to enter this room, and I would prefer they didn't. As mentioned though, it does have a toilet, which this group used. That, of course, is fine, but I was a bit surprised to hear this. Given that it is situated along side a lot of equipment that outside crews access weekly, there is also a lot of grit in the room. I do not anticipate guests using this john. I don't even acknowledge its existence on sites or info sheets that I provide. Unfortunately, I cannot lock this room for accessibility reasons.
These two small missteps aside, I hope this group had a wonderful stay in Vermont, and thank them for alerting me to them.
A beautiful well kept property. We loved the big farmhouse kitchen with the huge island. Beautiful view from the huge screened back porch. Plenty of room for everyone! Plspaceporch
Our families of 10 adults had a wonderful time. The house is well-designed and very comfortable. Thanks to the heatwave, we spent most of our time in the pool. The kitchen had everything we needed, and more, which was great for enjoying everything from the various farm stands we came across on our day trips. The views are just wonderful at any time of day or night.
