About this property

Magical Lakefront Cottage w/ country club access

We bought this house three years ago after falling in love with it while renting. At about 3,000 ft elevation the temperature in the summer is perfect. There are paddle boards and a kayak on the dock to explore the pristine waters of Lake Toxaway. There are some good size fish in the lake if you want to throw a line out. After a day of hiking, mountain biking, golf, tennis, pickleball, croquet or being on the water, enjoy dinner on the outside deck with the outdoor gas fireplace setting just the right tone. After one day here you will realize why we call it the magical cottage.

Xmas at Lake Toxaway!

The house was wonderful and the area is amazing. You can tell it is the owners own getaway property and very well maintained. Communication with owner was great. Responded in minutes on any question. Looking forward to visiting the house in the summer!

Everything we hoped and more.

The cottage and the lake, are, indeed magical. Briggs was an extraordinarily helpful, responsive and generous host--the best I have ever encountered via VRBO or Airbnb. The house was well stocked with all the amenities you could hope for. The deck was spacious, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a lovely outdoor fireplace, perfect on cool nights as we dined. The open-air kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinners in--overlooking the living room, all with a lake view. Our teenagers made great use of the two-person kayak and stand-up paddle boards--and spent hours fishing from the dock. We rented a boat for the week. The lake was peaceful and uncrowded--at times it felt like we had it to ourselves. The nearby restaurants were exceptional with beautiful views. Thank you, Briggs!
