Enjoy this beautiful Victorian built in 1915. Minutes away from the many state parks as well as restaurants, coffee shop and Shepherd Mountain Bike Park. Located at the south base of shepherd mountain. Walking distance to Main Street and all activities happening in town. Enjoy the spacious patio with fire pit and grill. Mornings with coffee on the wrap around porch are can’t miss. Large yard for your enjoyment. We live close by and offer transportation to and from the train station

Perfect location for all the nearby state parks. Bedrooms are generous sized areas so individuals could have some down-time in their own area if they wished. We loved it and would stay again.

Just a darling house from top to bottom. Tina was great at communicating and left little snacks on the kitchen counter. Nice toiletries provided. Beds very comfortable. It’s an old house and they’ve leaned into that charm, mixing modern with antique. The dining table is a little small and pretty rickety, but it was just 4 of us staying there and for only 1 night. Could imagine it might be challenging with 8 people staying there (enough comfy beds for 8!). That’s the only downside I could think of, and it’s a nitpicky one at that. We walked to a Mexican restaurant for dinner and a cute little coffee shop for breakfast. Great place to stay if visiting all the state parks in the area (we went to St. Joe to kayak, and then elephant rocks, Johnson shut-ins, and Taum Sauk. Sad we only had one night there!

The Sutton house was an amazing place to stay. The host thought of almost everything. The house was very clean and check-in was super easy. The house was located perfectly for our trip to visit state parks we had not before visited. The communication was fantastic and Tina was so very nice. We most enjoyed the fire pit. It was incredibly relaxing to sit around after a long day of hiking.

Heart is in The Valley

This place is awesome! Very clean and the house is in great condition. Tons of room and king beds in 3 of the bedrooms. We really enjoyed the front porch with our morning coffee and the fire pit in the evening. Our host was very accommodating, attentive and friendly.

The home is a cute, historical home that is spacious and well kept. It’s walking distance to food, coffee, and in-town historical sights. It was a short drive to Johnson’s Shut Ins and Elephant Rocks - and eating at Baylee Jo’s BBQ is a MUST! The games included in the family room made for some fun family bonding time.It was a great stay with plenty of room in the home for a large family, or a group of friends, for a quick getaway from the city. This was by far the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The home is beautiful, the beds are comfy, the bathrooms were clean and the water pressure is good. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The home is stocked with all the essentials we needed. The grocery store is not far away. If you're looking to stay in this area, look no further. I know we will be back. Huge bonus point for the owners as they do not require cleaning since we paid a cleaning fee. So many charge the cleaning fee and then also expect the guest to clean. We, of course, did not abuse that and made sure we didn't leave a big mess.

Bob and I were born and raised in Arcadia Valley. After 35 years of being away we decided to retire back home. We love to travel and spend time with our grandchildren and kids. Avid St Louis. Blues hockey fans. We love hosting and sharing our family home as a way to help finance our travel escapades.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood off of the courthouse square is very quiet. It sits at the base of shepherd mountain.

What makes this property unique

Our home is one of the few traditional Victorians built in the early 1900’s. It was purchased in 1957 by my husband’s grandparents. We are happy to have been able to refurbish the home and offer it for other families to make memories as the Sutton family has for many decades.
