My wife & I moved to Whidbey Island in 1978, where I worked as the facilitie's manager at Camp Casey Conference Center. In 1990 we moved to Coupeville and started Garden Isle Bed & Breakfast/Vacation Home and a Montessori School.
We have throughly enjoyed operating Garden Isle and being able to meet so many wonderful people over the past 21 years.
We feel it has been a privilege and blessing to be able to live in such a beautiful place.
Daniel Currier purchased this house in 1997
Coupeville is the heart of Ebey's Landing National Historic Reserve and the second oldest town in the state of Washington. We fell in love with Coupeville and its quaint shops, great restaurants and beautiful scenery. To own a 2+ acres next to the historic district is such a blessing.
We have 2.5 acres of land located a short walk to historic old town, the Farmers Market, the beach and the town park.
For the smaller children we have a playground on our property and one across the street in the town park.
For family fun we have a volleyball, bad-mitten court and croquet. We also have a campfire area so families sit around the fire together.
My three sisters and I spent the weekend at this lovely home in Coupeville. It was large and comfortable and included everything that we needed for cooking. The owners were very nice. We would definitely go back. The instructions to the house asked that we put in a load of laundry and do the dishes before we left, or we would be charged an additional amount. I understood that one item we had paid for as part of the rental was maid service, so I thought the requirement that we do laundry and dishes was a bit much. Otherwise, we were very happy with our experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our hosts. We had a clean and very comfortable.space for the four of us. We so enjoyed the accessibility to downtown Coupeville. The beautiful view and the slow pace of life were very appealing to us. We will be back!
Amazing views and excellent amenities. Great place to stay and enjoy coupeville
The Admiral House is an excellent home away from home. There is a great view and many adventures in town.
The grounds and house were clean and well maintained. It is obvious the hosts were proud of their rental property and town. They were helpful, friendly, and showed us nearby attractions and restaurants. I would recommend this property to friends or relatives.
We enjoyed our second stay this year at the same charming home in Coupeville. The owner is welcoming and gave recommendations for dining and things to do in the area. The home is nicely decorated and comfortable with a cozy gas fireplace, comfy bed and kitchen. It's private and quiet, but just a short walk to the downtown area with shops and restaurants.
Our quite little town is the second oldest town in the state and only has a population of 1,700 people. Our property is located across the street from the town park with access to the beach and a tennis court. On the other side of our property is six acres of open land where the Farmers Market meets every Saturday April through October. We have plenty of open space to roam but we are only a 4 minute walk to all the shops, Wharf and restaurants in old town. There are five state parks and a National Park Historic Reserve to explore on our beautiful island. Whale watching, scuba diving, In the spring we have Penn Cove Mussel Festival and the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Coupeville is famous for its Penn Cove Mussels
