Your shabby-chic Pawleys Island oasis awaits. A private paradise offers beautiful marsh views including your own boardwalk to the South Causeway. Relax in the lush environment using the screened-in porch or spend the day at the beach with just a short bike, car ride, or walk (.6 miles). Bikes and kayaks are available for your adventures. Cook a fabulous meal in the gourmet kitchen and share it around the family table. Come to unwind and leave feeling renewed. This is BLUE BAYOU: Welcome home!

Escape to this stunning 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath raised beach house, tucked away on a quiet street with marsh views of historic Pawleys Island. With 2308 sq. ft. of privacy nestled in natural wooded surroundings, this home is the perfect retreat for your next vacation. Inside, you’ll find Brazilian Teak tongue & groove floors throughout and a modern gourmet kitchen with high-grade stainless appliances. The house, built in 2017, has an abundance of windows for tons of natural light.

There are five beds total: 2 kings, 2 queens, and a futon in the office. The primary bedroom has a king bed with an en-suite bathroom. The second king room and one of the queen rooms are also located upstairs and share an additional full bathroom. The fourth bedroom is in the studio apartment and features a queen sized bed, a full bathroom, a kitchen, and dining and living area.

A Tesla Wall Connector is also available for use during your stay.

Great place to stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at this house, it had everything to make it most welcoming and comfortable and enjoyable to stay at, the location is perfect for access to the outdoors and all the great shops and restaurants on Pawley's Island, highly recommend and will go back again.

Great Place to Stay!

Great place to stay on your visit to Pawleys Island. Our host was excellent with communication and even provided some local recommendations. House is conveniently located to all you need for your stay at Pawleys Island. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time. House was exactly as advertised, very clean and the neighborhood was excellent. We played 3 rounds of golf and only had a 5-10 minute ride to each course. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends. Also loved the downstairs apartment , it was nice and quite down there.

Spring Break

This is a lovely property! The location was fantastic and the home is spectacular. We were very comfortable all week and spent a few nights in cooking supper. The host was very attentive to all of our needs. We would definitely book here again!

Beautiful Beach House Getaway!

I went with a group of friends for a low-key bachelorette weekend. The house was well-appointed, comfortable, spacious, and impeccably clean. We loved spending time on the screened-in porch. The location is extremely convenient to restaurants, shops, and the grocery store. The hosts are responsive and courteous, as well.

Great Property and Excellent Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Bayou. The location was great. Short drive to the beach, walkable to the inlet bridge for a little fishing/crabbing, short drive to shops and restaurants, and nice boardwalk through the woods behind the house. The house was very clean, almost like a new build, nicely decorated, plenty of parking, and well stocked. The separate "apartment" below the main unit was great for our group of kids that wanted to get up early and watch tv, without disrupting the rest of the house. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Pawleys Island.

The main part of the house and the upstairs were great! We were thankful to have bikes to ride to the beach, which was really fun.I was a little disappointed that one of the rooms was totally separate from the rest of the house in the basement. It smelled bad and my people ended up sleeping on the couch upstairs because the smells were too bad to sleep down in the basement room.

The GoodLocation & Layout: Great central yet quiet location. The veranda is lovely, and the main living area is spacious enough for a large group.Host: The owner was very responsive.The Bad (Expectation vs. Reality)Inaccurate Listing: The photos don’t match the current indoor setup or furniture layout.Filthy Linens: We found dirty linens hung up as clean, some even covered in footprints. We had to wash an entire load ourselves.Pests: We spent the first 24 hours knocking down wasp nests and three days spraying them. Flying cockroaches (Palmetto bugs) and spiders were everywhere—in cupboards, corners, upstairs, and downstairs.Unlivable Downstairs: Musty, humid, and heavily infested. It was entirely uncomfortable for my 60-year-old mother.Maintenance & Cleanliness: Cupboards and drawers were dirty, the downstairs coffee pot was gross, and the provided bikes had heavily rusted, not sure they are usable.Broken Amenities: The BBQ grates are rusted out, and the shot burner covers make it hard to get even heat. The upstairs back-left stove burner is broken, and we had to fiddle with a downstairs propane tank to get the stove to work one morning.AC Nightmare: We arrived to a broken AC and an 88-degree house, making the first 24 hours miserable. The owner controls the thermostat remotely but didn't bother to cool it down before our arrival.Verdict: We paid nearly 5,000 for a 6-night stay and absolutely would not stay here again.

Once we were notified, we sent a technician out within the hour to address it, and they returned the next day to confirm everything was working as expected.
