Welcome to the Bay View Grand Marina, a beach front private property with all of our favourite amenities, at the quieter end of Ixtapa.

Upon opening the door, you will be greeted by a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, differentiating this condo from many others. A huge pane of glass wraps the living room, and the incredible view continues into the bedroom with 4 large sliding glass doors. Neither words nor photos can begin to express how incredible this effect actually is. Caution: you may find yourself spending more time in the condo than you anticipated!

The condo has been substantially upgraded during and after construction to provide the utmost in luxury, enjoyment, and privacy for your stay. We enjoy staying here with friends and family, holding it to a higher standard.

We wanted the layout of this condo to evoke a feeling of spaciousness beyond its one-bedroom size. We removed walls in the kitchen and bathroom in order to provide the most open and airy atmosphere, and changed the shower enclosures to frameless glass. We had the furnishings custom made to provide maximum usability, while not obscuring views or pathways.

The open concept living area makes social occasions and meal preparation much more enjoyable. The kitchen features a custom 8' granite countertop and bar. While you can enjoy your meals here, you may often find yourselves dining in the open air on the patio.

On the 15th floor, the rumble of crashing waves creates the perfect ambiance for any occasion. The unit is only exposed to the beach and ocean, so noises of vehicle traffic and downtown nightlife will not spoil your serenity. Fall asleep to the sound of breaking waves, and open your eyes to expansive vistas of the wide beach and seemingly endless ocean.

Enjoy the calm and privacy this condo offers. From its location in the North tower, it shares the floor with only two other units. We have endeavoured to make this a tranquil home away from home both for you and for us.

The condo has two individually controlled air conditioning units for your comfort. We have also installed fans in the living room, the bedroom to keep you cool and comfortable throughout the day and night. The living room and bedroom windows can all be shaded with high-end sun shade blinds. The bedroom also comes with a row of blackout blinds for those mornings when 6 a.m. is just too early to awake - view or not... after all, you're on vacation!

If beach-combing and sun-catching ever becomes too much, you can enjoy the 42" HDTV LED with a Roku added for streaming all your favourite shows.

We hope you will find all the comforts of home in our Ixtapa paradise, and we endeavour to support the communities in which we do business. In this respect, we are proud to donate a portion of our income to charities in the local area each year.

A week in paradise

Our experience was awesome. We had everything we needed within the property. Comfortable bed and bedding, linens and pool towels. The view was spectacular. We enjoyed the deck in the mornings for coffee, before we headed out to the beach for our morning stroll. Afternoon snack and cerveza at Carlos an’ Charlie’s watching the waves crash against the beach. Back to the resort for the afternoon at the pool. Then a game of crib until the sun set, then out for a stroll to see what was for dinner. The sunsets from this condo are incredible. Back to the condo for a night cap on the deck and up and at it all over again the next day. Spent a morning/ afternoon on bikes to playa Linda. Everything was wonderful. It was the relaxing experience we were looking for. Thank you! Left us yearning for more. Kristen & Steve

Good

The property is very nice, but beware of the pricing. If you book early, we discovered that the price dropped significantly closer to our arrival. Also, there is a insect problem, as we had a cockroach crawl across the bed one morning, and spotted 2 more in the hall.

Nice property in a great location. The unit is spotless and has magnificent views. The beach is pristine and great for exercise. 1 hour plus round trip walk. Ixtapa is lovely.

Can get pretty hot

West facing means afternoon sun heats the suite even with curtains drawn. We didn't use the AC, but it would take a very long time for AC to bring down high temps. So, good if you like the heat, but something to be aware of especially if you plan on much cooking.

The owners Carleton Pope was amazing to deal with. He answered all my many questions. The condo was beautiful, exactly as pictured. There was some inconvenience regarding the patio door. It was locked, no key, the only way to deck was through bedroom doors. Once that got sorted it was great. Fully equipped kitchen, great place to stay. Ixtapa is beautiful, I highly recommend it.

Breath Taking

From the moment we walked in the door, and saw the awesome view we knew we were in paradise. Watching the sun set every night, walking the beach every morning, spending time down at the pool, chatting with new friends, trying out the many wonderful restaurants all within walking distance. We had an amazing time and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

One of the best.

If you want a relaxing vacation right on a beautiful beach with a modern condo lacking nothing this is the place. Our second visit on the 15th floor with awesome vistas. Secured building within walking distance to some very nice restaurant. Not a place with hordes of tourist or locals trying to sell you timeshares. A true gem with owners easy to deal with. Better than Cabo.

With gorgeous ocean views and meticulously kept grounds around the BVG Marina, we thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at this property. Amazing Condo in great location.

Carletons condo in Ixtapa was absolutely amazing. Every review you read is accurate about the views and amenities! To top it all off Carleton is amazing to work with and always willing to answer any questions that arise in a very timely manner. That said there are a few things about the Bay view complex that I feel are not reviewed. The restaurant and bar require a pre paid card to purchase food or drink as they don't accept card or cash for food and beverage (card costs 30 pesos, aka $2). Cards can be loaded and reloaded at any time, my experience is they took my card one time (added 3% fee) but their machine was down the other time so I had to reload with Pesos (needed to walk to ATM). Prices at the bar and restaurant are very reasonable and they don't gouge you just because you stay on site. Additionally the spa is fantastic and they give an amazing massage for about $30 USD. They only take the prepaid cards in there also, but make sure their machine is working (I added pesos to the card for the massage then was told their machine was down so had to pay in pesos, remember they don't take cash or card, then had an abundance on my prepaid card). Lastly the pool is AMAZING, but they do not allow any beverages to be consumed in the pool. So if you want to have a beer or margarita in the adult pool you will need to exit to enjoy. None of these will keep us from returning to Ixtapa nor to this amazing condo, but def would have been good to know before we arrived.

Perfect

This was our first time renting a condo for our annual winter vacation. After many questions that we had for Carleton & Valina we rented their condo for 2 fabulous weeks. It was absolutely perfect for us. My wife and I have visited Ixtapa before but always done the all inclusive scam. This time we made the perfect choice and stayed at the BVGM . The condo was even better then the pictures in the ad shows. Beautiful sunsets, gorgeous views, and a 5 star suite was more then we had could have hoped for. We loved it so much that we booked next year stay after a couple of days in paradise.

A Little Piece of Heaven

This was our second time to Ixtapa but our first time using VRBO? What a wonderful first time experience. Carleton answered my "millions" of questions promptly and with humour when needed (I'm quite the worrier about first time ventures;). My worries were unwarranted. My fellow Canadian and his wife were a pleasure to deal with. When we arrived at BVG Marina we were greeted by the property manager who showed us into our little piece of heaven. The condo was very tastefully decorated and the views were stunning. Margarito showed us the ropes and answered any questions we had. I was delighted to learn BVG Marina had an exercise class every day during the week at 9. YAY...I was able to work out in the beautiful gym to justify my over indulgence during vacation;). The instructor was so cute and the other participants were very welcoming. The BVG Marina is amazing- great pools, great food, friendly staff and very clean. Ixtapa is wonderful! So much to do and see. The weather is always perfect. Zihut is only a 10 minute bus ride away. The transportation system is very user friendly. Reasonable bus rates and taxi rates. There are lots of restaurant choices and shops for your 'snooping pleasure' in both Ixtapa and Zihut. Surrounding beaches make a nice day outing as well. I think we've found our home away from home in Ixtapa. Tammy and Mark Regina

Everything we needed and more....

This is a beautiful condo. It was everything we had hoped for in a rental and more! The Bay View Grand is a very nice complex. We loved the location, the grounds,the pool and the beach. I used the gym and the spa. We ate at the restaurant many times. The condo itself is great - set up well and we never really needed anything. We spent a lot of time on the patio. I will never forget that view! Overall an excellent choice and we would definitely consider returning.

Frickin Amazing View

My fiance and I stayed at Carleton and Valina's condo in Ixtapa over Xmas this year. The view is stunning. We absolutely loved it. There are two bathroom in the 1 bedroom condo, so it was really a luxury to each have our own bathroom. We didn't cook but we could have if we wanted to because of the great kitchen. We most loved looking out the massive windows at the ocean, and sitting on the balcony. We didn't even go in the pool once because the ocean is right there and it was so much fun.

Exceeded our expectations

My husband and I had a wonderful two week vacation here. The condo is exactly as poctured,the building is beautifilly maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food at the on-site restaurant is very good quality and very reasonably priced. We took advantage of the bicycles provided by the owners; a fun way to tour around, due to the great bicycle path. We rode out for cappucino in the mornings....fun! The owners recommended a trip to Isla Ixtapa; a great suggestion. The swimming and snorkelling ( and food) is great there. For fellow golfers the condo. Is the perfect location; the golf course is approx. three minute walk away from BVG and It's of work is going into it to shape it up for the high season. Thanks C. Wonderful Vacation Rental

I spent 2 weeks in this amazing apartment. The photos are true, the condo is beautiful, the view incredible. The pools, the beach were perfect. I had everything I needed for a great stay, big fridge, bikes, books, flat screen, wifi. Carleton kept in touch and their manager was available, although I needed nothing. The location next to the marina and the quiet area of the beach is great. Walking distance to center, and good restaurants. You can take the min-bus to Zihuatanejo (much bigger town for shopping). Don't miss Isla Ixtapa. I want to go back!!!!

The best vacation

This is the second time we stay at Carletton's condo and the experience Is getting better!!!!The condo is absolutely beautiful With an stunning view to the ocean, great service, great location, our kids swam with dolphins and we ride bike at a bike trail acrross the street that is surrounded by nature!! Awesome trip at Bayview Grand Marina

We spent a month at the Bayview Grand Marina and met so many awesome people; condo owners and renters, it was the best vacation! As Carleton and Valina indicate on the site; Caution: you may find yourself spending more time in the condo than you anticipated! ... is absolutely true! We did not typically leave the condo till close to noon since the view was so phenomenal!!! The entire staff at the complex is fantastic! The snack bar folks are super; thanks so much Joel, Patricio and staff!!! We highly recommend the complex! We were in 1501N one of the units that Carlton & Valina rent out. Very well stocked with all that you need. Every night an awesome sunset too! Thanks

Awesome

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of five weeks at the BVG in Carleton & Valina's unit. What a beautiful place, the unit as well as the complex. Being right on the beach sure had it's plus, and found that the prices of the food and beverages very reasonable around the pool. The unit was very clean and very well set up for a comfortable stay. The view from the balcony was just awesome. You will find yourself spending a lot of time relaxing in the two lounge chairs after a day by the pool. The Marina is a short walk away to lots of good restaurants and the bus stops right outside the BVG to take you to town or into Zihuatanejo where there is lots of great restaurants.

As soon as you walk into the apartment you can't help but be in awe of the view. The moment you walk in you can see the amazing bay and the the sun. The place was perfect for us, we went for a girls weekend several of us renting different apartments at the BVG Marina. By far ours was the place to be. Perfect for 2 can fit a 3rd, great little kitchen with all the necessities 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom (which was great travelling with girls.) and the living room with the amazing view was great for drinks and getting ready. The grounds are amazing the staff super helpful and the pools are like in the movies. Carlton was as friendly as could be very easy to book and process. Highly recommanded

Awesome Rental Unit

We stayed in this condo for a week over Christmas and were totally impressed! The view was the best we have ever had in any rental unit in Ixtapa in the 25 years we have been going there. This condo was well furnished and very comfortable. We spent every morning sitting out on the deck drinking coffee and watching the wonderful waves, and even a few dolphins! The sunsets from the condo were awesome! Carlton and Valina were very responsive to any questions we had. We are definately planning on returning to Ixtapa again, and wouldn't stay anywhere else! Even better than last time !

We just came back from our trip to Ixtapa-Zihiuatanejo, and had a blast. We are a family of 5: my wife and I, who slept in the bedroom, my 4 year old daughter, who slept in the convertible bed, and my 2 year old twins, who still use their portable cribs. This is the second year in a row I rent this same condo for two weeks during the summer. Last year it was owned by a different person, and I must say the new owners, Carleton and Valina are very easy to deal with, and very nice people, who also have great taste to decorate their two condos. They have a local operator, Best Properties, who is in charge of meeting you upon arrival, showing you the condo, etc. They can also do grocery shopping for you for a fee of $200.00 pesos, about $17 USD. The condo is beautiful, with very nice and modern furniture, and in great shape. The new owners did some improvements which made our stay even more comfortable than last time. Oh, and the view is breathtaking! We like Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo a lot, and have been there many times. But we stopped going years ago because there are not many good hotels there. Those in Zihua are boutique hotels, and those in Ixtapa are old and in bad shape. But since BVG Marina opened, we are back. The building is only about two years old, very modern and has got a fantastic infinity pool, a jacuzzi, a great beach, a kids day care, a pool bar, a spa, and a gym. Besides, with young kids, a condo makes more sense to us than a hotel. Having the kitchen is convenient and it makes the trip a lot less expensive. We made most of our breakfasts and dinners there, and did go out a few times. And this condo is 2 or 3 times the size of a hotel room, plus you have free internet access, free telephone calls (within reasonable limits), a Play Station 3 / DVD player, etc. The food at the pool bar is both good and VERY inexpensive. A Virgin Mary is only $20 pesos (about $1.50 USD), a Cesar Salad is $40 (about $3.30 USD), and so on. The reason being this is not a business, but a service to the owners and renters by the condominium association. This provides for great meals at much lower cost than any hotel I have been to. And the spa treatments are also well priced. Most 50 minutes massages are below $400.00 pesos, the equivalent of $33 USD. Get the picture? You get a lot, for very little. This can’t be beaten! Our first trip to Ixtapa together was in November last year, but Valina has been travelling to Ixtapa since 2010. We have both vacationed in other parts of Mexico, but never found anywhere as beautiful, easy to get around, and safe as Ixtapa. In 2010, as the BVG Marina neared completion, my (Valina's) Mom made a trip to Ixtapa, and fell in love with the building. We then decided to this condo purchase together. The view is breathtaking and looking down on the beach, I still think of Mom on her boogey board.
