Great to have 2 1/2 baths for our group of 5 that was getting ready for a wedding--the bath in the basement is new and very nice. We didn't spend much time at the house because of wedding festivities nearby, but it was a convenient location and situation for us.
Stayed here for a friends wedding that was at the Walloon Lake Inn. The location was great. Just a short 5 minute walk to the town and water. The place is very clean and spacious.

Thanks so much Steven! Would love to host you all again anytime !
This house is in a perfect location to the lake and downtown! We loved the location. House needs a updating, pictures are a bit deceiving. Outdated and needs some attention to details. They did leave a bag of coffee, speciality soaps, cups and bottleKoozies and a nice gesture.

Hi Kathleen,
Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re so glad you enjoyed the prime location near the lake and downtown, and that you appreciated the complimentary touches like the coffee, specialty soaps, and Koozies.
While we understand that style and decor preferences are personal, we’re proud to offer a comfortable, well-stocked lake home that reflects the charm of the area—and our photos are recent and accurately represent the space. We also went out of our way to accommodate your two-night weekend stay, which is a rare offering in peak summer, as well as provide early check-in to make your visit smoother.
We always welcome thoughtful suggestions and are continually investing in the home to enhance the guest experience. We’re disappointed to receive our first low rating for what seems to be mostly a matter of aesthetic taste, but we appreciate your input and hope you were still able to enjoy the beauty of the area.
My three sons, their wives and children. And I stayed here for a week. Plenty of room. Lots of extra roll away beds and bed linens. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, glasses and dishes. The house was bigger than it looked from the outside. 'Nice little walk to the beach and not even the 3 year old complained. The host was very responsive when I had questions/concerns. Great place for a larger group.

Thank you so much for taking such great care of our place and being a pleasure to host! We look forward to having you back in the future!
This was a perfect location for our weekend getaway with two other families with young kids. The house had even more beds than advertised and the layout of the house was great for adults and kids to have their own space. Tons of kids toys and games stocked which was an unexpected perk! Only con I can think of is there is a picture of a keurig so we brought our kcups but it turns out there is only a regular coffee pot. Not a biggie cause it’s only 10 minutes from meijer.

Thank you Abby! You all were a joy to host ! Please come back anytime!
They really need to clean out the kitchen and main areas. It is so cluttered and old, it did not feel welcoming at all. The house was 82 almost the entire visit as the air conditioning unit in the dining room didn’t work. I called to let them know, and they did not seem to appreciate the feedback. I sent them a picture of an 82 Monitor from their home. On the overall, they seem to be somewhat nice, I don’t have a problem with them. But the house is nowhere near worth what they charge for it.

Hi Brandy,
We’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet your expectations, though we did everything we could to accommodate your very many requests throughout the weekend. To clarify for future guests: the Nest thermostat which controls the heat in the home does not control the window A/C units in the home which may have caused some confusion.
Your reservation was for 4 guests, but you arrived with 8 and requested a second table leaf, even though the table was already extended. Throughout your stay, you sent multiple messages requesting additional items—many of which were already provided—yet later described the home as “cluttered,” which felt contradictory.
Despite these challenges, we remained responsive and respectful, during the busiest holiday weekend of the year. Pricing reflects the July 4th demand, consistent with other lakefront homes in the area.
We work hard to maintain a clean, comfortable, and well-appointed space for all our guests and have consistently received 5-star reviews from kind, appreciative travelers. While we respect all feedback, this review does not reflect the typical guest experience at our home.
Future guests, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions—we’re always happy to help ensure a great stay.
We really enjoyed our stay in this house. Very clean and welcoming. Plenty of room for everyone. A television in just about all the bedrooms and the basement. Lots of extra blankets/pillows, plenty of dishes/pots and pans/utensils. There were games and dvds to use. It had everything we could possibly need. Just a short walk to Walloon lake and a candy/ice cream store, antique store/coffee shop, a general store, a couple of good restaurants, and of course a small beach to play in the water. It’s just a few miles from Petoskey and a short drive to Mackinac. I hope we can make it back sometime soon and I would definitely rent this house again!! It was like being at home.

About the host
Hosted by Champagne
We’re a Northern Michigan-loving family who created Savannah Blue as a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the simple beauty of lake life. Between busy work and raising our daughter Savannah, we’ve always cherished our time “up north”—morning coffee on the porch, bike rides through town, and evenings by the water.
Hosting has become something we truly love because it allows us to share that feeling with others. We’ve thoughtfully designed every detail of Savannah Blue to feel cozy, welcoming, and a little bit special—like a place you instantly feel at home the moment you walk in.
Whether you’re here for a girls’ weekend, a family getaway, or just a quiet reset, our hope is that your stay feels easy, memorable, and full of those little moments you’ll want to come back for.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it captures everything we love about Northern Michigan—charming, walkable, and centered around the beauty of Walloon Lake. Savannah Blue sits just steps from the village, where mornings start with coffee by the water and evenings end with a sunset stroll to the marina.
What we love most is how quiet, peaceful and connected it feels at the same time. You can bike quiet lake roads, walk to dinner or ice cream, and still come home to a cozy, relaxed space that feels tucked away. In the summer, it’s all about boating, beach days, and that soft golden light over the lake. In the fall and winter, it becomes a quiet, storybook escape.
It’s the kind of place where life slows down—in the best way—and we knew we wanted to share that feeling with our guests.
