Disfrute de la simplicidad clásica de una casa de campo tradicional en el condado de Door, lejos del estrés de la vida cotidiana.

Terra Cottages se encuentra cerca de la punta de la península de Door y a pocos pasos del pueblo de Gills Rock, un destino favorito para los kayakistas y ciclistas. Very clean, quaint, comfortable and wonderfully located cottage. We walked to watch the sunsets at the park nightly and for coffee at Cuesta down the street in the mornings. We appreciated being out of the tourism hubbub but did spend time in those cities one day. It was a perfect stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the shower was like a massage, the essentials were all there plus the graceful touches of a cherry tart, battery candles, the ability to have fires a couple of nights outside and still have a fireplace in the cottage for the early mornings and late nights. Stars were amazing just from the back yard. I will definitely be returning plus the owners were helpful and kind.

Great little cottage in an amazing location. Views of the water, nice quiet location. The owners were super responsive when we had to reach out. The cottage itself was so cute and super clean. Three adult women for three nights and then my 18 year old nephew joined us for the last night and we still had room. We loved it. Super homey and comfortable.

Cozy escape at the end of the road

My family and I chose this place because it's pet-friendly, close to the Washington Island ferry, and sensibly priced. We found out that there was more to our experience. The host, Sophie, is very friendly, helpful, and easy to reach out to.The cottage is very clean and stocked with everything you need for a joyful stay. The only thing we would have preferred would be a closer access to the public beach. However, it was not a deal-breaker in our case.

Small but mighty. Kitchen supplies all the pots and dishes. Owner left a yummy cherry tart and was prompt in all communication. It was starting to get colder, so she did get the gas fireplace preped for us.Did not use the fire pit, but did see 2 fawns walking back there one morning.#4 Has view of lake from porch, but you need to walk down the block for public access.It didn’t bother us no wifi or TV as our cell phones had service and could act as hotpots if we needed, but never used it!

Just Right

This is a peferct cabin for a quiet stay in Door Co. We loved it. We had everything we needed plus a cherry tart to welcome us. No TV and limited phone service was a perfect break. The cabin is aged with charm.

Perfect getaway!

We enjoyed the peaceful quiet pace of northern Door County very much. The cottage was perfect for our needs and Sophie is a great host, answering all my questions promptly. There is no wifi or tv and we didn't miss any of it a bit. There aren't many places to walk to but the drives are beautiful.

Perfect Romantic Getaway

We stayed in this cottage for our anniversary. The location was perfect for spending time together without the hustle and bustle of every day life. We chatted with the other couples staying in the other cottages over coffee or drinks at night. Although the weather didn't cooperate for many outdoor activities, we were able to find enough things to do in the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend staying in this cottage!

Built in 1946 by a founding fishing family with lumber from the surrounding cedar trees and recently remodeled, the cottages preserve the original layout while offering comfortable accommodations and a relaxing atmosphere.
Bought in 2001 by a Door County native with the idea of offering a restorative and safe environment close to nature and the beautiful landscapes of the Northern Peninsula.

Whether you are travelling with your family, friends, loved one or spending sometime exploring on your own, the cottages offer an ideal location for visiting the busier towns farther South and returning for a quiet evening dinner at home.

Terra Cottages is located near the tip of the peaceful northern Door Peninsula and a short walk from the little fishing port of Gills Rock and a 5 min walk from the new Mariners Park on the shores of Green Bay. Northern Door County is a favorite destination for kayaking, fishing, hiking, cycling and swimming with it's many parks beaches and hiking and biking trails. The excursion boat to Washington Island, Charlies fresh and smoked fish, The popular Shoreline restaurant, and the Door County Maritime Museum are among the things that make Gills Rock a special place to stay.

We are just a short drive from the rugged, unspoiled beauty of Newport State Park, a semi-wilderness area offering hiking, swimming, and nature activities. The many performances, restaurants, galleries and shops throughout Door County are also easily accessible.

While staying with us you take one of the regular fishing charters that leave the village daily or enjoy a crossing on an excursion boat across the beauty of Death’s Door Passage to Washington Island, the oldest Icelandic settlement in North America.
