Great location, peaceful, yet close to lots of local restaurants.Fish hatchery is practically next door and interesting. Hartwick Pines is a gem which we visited twice. Host is very timely with communication.He graciously allowed us to plug in or EV to convenient outside 110v outlet. A game changer for usInside was clean and neat.Had a few concerns and host was quick to reply.Outside patios are in need of cleaning and decluttering.I filled the hummingbird feeder and the show started immediately! Lots of hummers energizing for their upcoming migration.Lovely views from all around house, but 2 large windows in living room have miniblinds down that we couldn't raise, so view was mostly blocked.Lots of fast paddlers, single and double, training on the river were very entertaining.

Very peaceful setting on ausable river. Had 3 deer in the backyard the first morning. Very spacious house and well taken care of. We loved our stay there and look forward to renting it again.

A beautiful location! Although we unfortunately had a few chilly days with rain, the covered porch still allowed us to be out in the fresh air viewing the river and the local wildlife which was awesome. The property manager was very kind and helpful with any issues that arose. Thank you, Todd, for helping us make this vacation happen! We're hoping to return sometime with our grandchildren, as we know they'd love visiting this property and the home has plenty of room for all. Really enjoyed this stay.

This house is in a nice area along the Au Sable River. We stayed for five days in the beginning of June and the bugs were pretty bad outside. The host communicated well however we feel Cat fished with the description of the property. We had higher expectations for the maintenance in and around the property. We brought our own food to try and save money, however cooking was a challenge. The ovens top burners to not work correctly and was even more difficult with the old cookware. Be careful using the grill as it smelled like propane during the cook. Bring your own bbq utensils as the ones supplied were a bucket of rust and the cleaning brush left Brissels on the cooking grate. Huge health hazard for someone to swallow!! To no fault over their own, the nice sandy beach was covered in goose poop and made it difficult for the kids to enjoy. There was a kettle left on the wood burning stove that was starting to rust through due to someone leaving water in it. Our kids kept getting insect bites inside the residence and I was not able to located said insects until we turned the baby monitor on during the night time. The most insects I’ve seen inside in a long time! Everyone with a baby monitor knows the infrared capabilities and seeing insects flying around. I arrested to use the vacuum around the third day and it would not function correctly. The entire canister was completely full and even the hose was clogged with debris! Gross right. Could go on but limited to 1500 characte

The host Todd was very responsive and quick to answer all questions or concerns. The place was extremely clean when we checked in. Just as described and better. It is so peaceful and Serene and the river flows around the house so you get a review on all but the driveway side. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Vrbo apparently changed some of how it gives you check in and check out instructions since the last time I stayed with a vrbo but Todd was very patient with my questions to ensure that I checked in and out by following directions. Cannot recommend this place enough and already have to a relative.
