This cottage is very comfortable and appointed with everything you could ask for. It's within a short distance of a boat launch, we spent wonderful mornings kayaking in the estuaries. The back deck and yard are delightful, the roomy deck overlooks apple trees, a floral garden, expansive lawn, a small pond & reflective sculpture. It was so nice it was sometimes a challenge to leave the cottage for excursions. Our dog enjoyed it very much as well.
The Wi-Fi was good (password IS required), with basic cable TV channels (we brought along our Apple TV for streaming). Beds were OK (there's no place like home...), and the bath larger than some we've rented. Owner was very nice to work with, though there were apparently some email communication issues (through the Homeaway email system). They sent us a few messages we never received, but all was resolved before the trip. Plenty of activities & restaurants to choose from, which is why we revisit the region every year. Discovered Thomas Point Beach on our second to last day, wish we'd found it earlier as we would have spent an extra day there swimming, picnicking & kayaking. Brunswick, Bath & Freeport are good day trips, we limit ourselves to one visit up the coast to Boothbay due to the usual traffic nightmare through Wiscasset. If you go, Dolphin Mini-Golf on Rt.1 in Boothbay is a great stop, with a shell museum & ice cream parlor. Watson's General Store nearby in Cundy's Harbor is THE place to buy your live lobsters (but has no clams, unfortunately). We really enjoyed our visit, and hope to return before long.
