Weekend getaway

We enjoyed being close to South Haven, Sagatauk and St. Joe’s. The property was perfect for what we needed.

The property was a great location, well maintained, and worked well for our family of 6. It had all of the essentials we needed. The addition of yard games, fire pit, and beautiful patio made it a retreat from our normal stays!

The linens, bedding, kitchen, bathrooms house was clean with the exception of the windowsills, full of cobwebs and spiders. patio furniture was full of cobwebs and we had to sweep off the patio. Wish the lawn would’ve been mowed before we got there, but I understand they had a lot of rain prior to our visit.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re glad to hear you found the home, linens, bedding, kitchen, and bathrooms clean. Regarding the outdoor areas, our home is on a heavily wooded lot, so cobwebs can appear very quickly—even after cleaning—especially during the summer months. We also remind guests in two separate pre-arrival messages to keep exterior doors closed, as this greatly reduces insects entering the home. The property also received its second scheduled professional pest treatment of the summer during your stay as part of our regular preventative maintenance. We appreciate your understanding regarding the lawn. After an unusually rainy stretch, we adjusted our lawn service schedule and had the property mowed during your stay in response to your request. We were disappointed to read the additional concerns for the first time in this review, as none of them were communicated to us during your stay despite our encouraging guests to reach out with any issues. Had we been made aware of the cobwebs on the patio or windowsills, we would have gladly sent our cleaning team back immediately to take care of them. We take pride in being responsive and always appreciate the opportunity to address concerns while our guests are still with us.

Peaceful lake retreat

This house provided ample space for our family of 5. We loved sitting on the deck just listening to the waves. I highly recommend if you are looking to relax.

Very nice cottage on Paw Paw Lake. Beautiful view of lake. No lake access from cottage but there is a public beach right across the lake. We went to Hagar beach to swim. Silver beach and Van Buren state park are also close. We also did go to two wineries close by. Lots to do and see. Everything is there in the cabin for you to cook meals. Bathrooms had plenty of towels. AC worked great. Very nice stay!

Canopy Cabin is a fantastic location - close to South Haven Beach, Saugatuck and New Holland. The house is clean and has great deck overlooking the lake across the street. While it was unseasonably hot, the mornings and late afternoon were comfortable. Allison was easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions. The only disappointment is the lack of access to the lake in this neighborhood. There are a couple of public boat launches, but nothing within reasonable walking distance. (It does mention this on the listing page, so please pay better attention than we did.)

We're the Mark family. This is our family's summer home, welcome! This is a place we put a lot of love into and have worked very hard for, so we hope you feel like you're right at home too when you join us here.

We love this home because its small yet updated - and honestly mostly because the view of Paw Paw Lake. We're so close to many other towns and cities in Southwest Michigan without it feeling "too" busy. On our back deck you can feel yourself unwinding from whatever you left at home, and to us that's a sign of a vacation well spent!

Many of our neighbors live here full time and they are the BEST! Please give them a smile when you see them and be respectful of the quiet hours (we live here sometimes too!). We love the breeze of the lake, the quietness of the evenings, and the nature that surrounds our little peninsula on the lake.

We think of our neighbors we have the best lake view (or at least they all tell us that, hah!). From the kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms you can see the lake in addition to the large backyard deck.
