Beautiful beach cottage. We loved the gas grill, fenced-in back yard for our sheepdog, and the fire pit. The location was excellent and close to Edgarton Beach and town.

Well-maintained cottage. Everything was clean. AC worked well. Kitchen was well-stocked with cooking supplies. Bathroom toiletries were a nice touch as well. All linens were clean and presented well. Water pressure is amazing and outdoor shower was also enjoyable. Location is good for walking/hiking, beach access, and a Stop & Shop is less than a mile down the street. Good for a couple or maybe one person stay. I wouldn’t recommend the pull-out couch to an adult, it was very uncomfortable- might be okay for kids. Would also recommend updating photos. Living room actually has a sectional with a pull-out bed, not two couches. I booked assuming that the fenced-in area had plenty of grass, but it’s actually all patio. This was a bit disappointing for my dog, and I would have continued looking for rentals had I seen the current state of the yard. At night insects (mosquitos, moths) were able to enter through the closed windows, and crickets seemed to be getting in from the laundry room. Overall, good stay and okay value for the Vineyard, though it seems every property on the island is inflated.

Hi April, We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Thanks as well for reminding us to update our photos to reflect some of the recent improvements. We recently replaced the older couches in the living room with a large sectional. It includes a pull-out sofa and also opens up the living room a bit more. The pull-out is probably best suited for children. We also recently updated the front of the cottage with a new bluestone patio. One of the benefits is having no grass in that area, which helps eliminate ticks, and many of our guests really enjoy sitting outside and using the patio table or stoking a fire in the solo stove fire pit. We’re sorry to hear that the patio wasn’t quite what you expected. We were also surprised to hear about the mosquitoes inside. You’re the first guest to mention having this issue. Since the windows all have screens and we keep the doors closed, we’re not sure how they may have gotten inside, although it’s possible they came in when the front door was opened. We’ll certainly keep an eye on this and look into it further. Most importantly, we’re happy to hear that you had a good experience overall. Thanks again for staying with us and for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your feedback is helpful as we continue to improve the cottage for our guests. Best, Michael

We loved the house. It was decorated so nicely. It had a lot of character and charm. I would take that any day over modern. The host was very nice and helpful! I loved how she had chairs and umbrellas for the beach! We loved outside shower! Great location! We biked everywhere!

Loved the cottage!

Very happy with this cottage; it was just as described. Very cozy, comfortable and fully equipped. Loved the private outdoor space with picnic table and bbq. Great location too! Very easy to get to beach; close to shopping and restaurants in Edgartown. Owners were very nice to deal with. Hope to return!

Beautiful home, was sad to leave!

This home is a gem, a perfect landing spot while staying on island. The home itself is comfortable and tidy, and we were happy staying in on our one rainy day. The patio and outdoor shower are a huge plus, which our dog loved. We’ll definitely be back. Mike and Sandy were wonderful hosts, thank you!

Wonderful

My wife and I enjoyed a long weekend to celebrate a landmark anniversary, bringing our important dog which is such a part of our family. The home is so wonderful and just perfect to spend time together enjoying the Vineyard and being active, including biking to town and enjoying the fire pit in the evenings. Thank you so much and hope to stay again in the near future.

Very nice

The property was easy distance to things we wanted to do. The hosts had little but very nice amenities to include some toiletries for the forgetful :-). There fresh flowers - nice touch. Met the host - very nice. In all we would return in the future.

Sweet little cottage!

We planned a trip to the Vineyard in the off season (November). Really enjoyed our stay at this comfy little place on the outskirts of Edgartown. Excellent running on beautiful trails across the street and well situated to explore a multitude of beautiful windswept beaches.The cottage had everything we needed and was well appointed for cooking fresh farmers market finds. The owner is close by and available if needed. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Minimoon

We stayed here after our wedding on the Cape and it was perfect. Property was spacious, had everything we needed and was in walking distance (approximately 1 mile to downtown Edgartown). there were also a couple of restaurants in closer walking distance. It was nice to have beach chairs and a grill on site which were provided. We brought our car which was easy to park in the driveway, and also stowed bikes within the fenced in patio during our stay. Also short drive to Oak Bluffs very nice to have laundry on site and plenty of space for the dog.

Great Location!

Wonderful location near the beach, Sheriff's Meadow walking trails. The local transit bus passes by the driveway. Nice, cozy, clean, basic accomodations. I enjoyed sitting outside in early morning and evening listening to the birds. Outdoor shower looks nice and is closed off and private, but I didn't try it out. Great place for 2-3 people on a budget that will be spending most of their time experiencing the Vineyard outdoors! Quiet, neighborhood on the outskirts of town.

Charming, Comfortable & Clean Cottage!

My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a week (along with our dog) and were extremely pleased with the accommodations. We found it to be very comfortable and clean, and while the furnishings and appliances are simple, we felt that we had everything we needed for a wonderful week! We loved riding our bikes around the island (you can hop on the trail right across the street) as well as kicking back and relaxing in the adorable backyard. There is a grocery store & a liquor store in close proximity, both of which came in handy. We had some amazing dinners out, and fell in love with South Beach, as well as the Cape Poge Beach in Chappequiddick. All in all, it was a great vacation - we'd happily return!

My 2nd time staying here and I absolutely love it! I love that it is pet friendly and has a fenced in patio area. (the 3 br unit has a bigger yard with a grassy area- one side is “fenced” with thick vegetation.)Location is GREAT - about 1/2 mile walk to the beach, to beautiful sunsets, and into town. Right on the bike trail, bus route, and across the street from walking trails! Hosts were very responsive and even let me know when my bungalow was ready early for check in.Both times they left flowers, herbs, and berries from their garden. I told them I didn’t want to write a rave review because I’d hate for this gem to sell out before I can book again. And the only thing they left out was Mike’s performance schedule!

Overall impression was ok. A bit rough around the edges and needs maintenance but met our needs. Bike trail & nature trail a plus. Keurig in kitchen a plus but rest of kitchen was ill equipped. 2 forks total, 1 good cutting knife. Bed was comfortable. AC in bedroom worked good. TV & internet good. Thank you.

Hi Raymond, Glad you enjoyed your time on the island and sorry about the lack of utensils in the kitchen during your stay. We set up the cottage with service for 6 including extras. Not sure what happened to knives and forks, we should have dbl checked that and we are restocking all that right now. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
