Enjoy a relaxing holiday with your family and friends in this riverside home. Located on the outskirts of the northern Ontario village of South River, this vacation home is close to all amenities yet provides a peaceful retreat.

Located next to Tom Thompson Park, you will have easy access to the boat launch and its disk golf course. If exploring the northern reaches of Algonquin park is on your to-do list, this property provides a great home base for the short drive to the park.

Let your senses bask in the quiet of nature, sit quietly to hear the water lapping on the shore and watch the changing view as the sun moves across the sky.

August 9th to 23rd, 2026This house is very comfortable and attractive. The kitchen is easy to use and has anything you’d need for cooking. The outdoor space is huge with a badminton net and soccer net, as well as a lighted gazebo area and large fire pit which we made good use of. The kids had lots to do. The dock area is cleared of lily pads and it was perfect for the grandchildren to swim in. They loved the paddle boat and canoe! We adults loved sitting on the dock watching the loons, geese and hummingbirds (and the grandkids). The younger adults loved being out on the water. Tom and Andrea maintain beautiful gardens on the site, and we enjoyed the fresh basil and tomatoes! Andrea was easy to reach when we had questions, and responded quickly. We made a good choice staying here!Thanks for a fantastic place to stay.Ed and Karen Jones

Great location!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Getaway! Very clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed during our stay. The outdoor space is amazing and so relaxing. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this clean, well appionted, family friendly property. We did not have the best weather (cloudy and cool) but made the best of the amazing out door space. The firepit was a great spot for star gazing and we had plenty of space (and equipment) for our anual family "cottage olympics"! Our host was readily availble for any questions we had..

A Very Well Stocked House

We spent 23 nights here. Andrea, who was nearby, was very helpful in quickly answering a few questions we had about the internet, the thermostat and the TV service. She supplied us with some kitchen staples when we ran out of them. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend her rental.

Family Wedding - Accommodations

My cousin had a wedding 10 minutes from the accommodations, so we opted for this excellent property instead of a hotel. The kids and adults had such a great time, and though I heard the hotel was nice, it doesn't beat the opportunity to wake up for a swim/paddle on the lake. 10/10 would recommend. Hosts were extremely responsive. I actually love that they live on the property as well. It makes for a true vacation rental experience.

Geweldig genoten op een geweldige plek!

Alles klopte aan deze accomodatie. Contact met de verhuurder was goed en snel. Super vriendelijke mensen! Bij aankomst bleek het allemaal netjes schoon en vooral lekker ruim te zijn. We mochten van alles gebruikmaken. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. We konden de kano's en de waterfiets gewoon pakken. Het uitzicht op Forrest Lake is geweldig. In de avonden konden we een vuurtje maken op de vuurplaats. Heel gezellig! Neem wel muggenspray mee. Maar dat is sowieso een goed idee in deze omgeving! Een aanrader voor een geweldige ervaring!
