Enjoy spectacular sunsets on the Keuka Wine Trail! Charming & pet friendly!

You'll be charmed by our cozy vintage cottage, with interior woodwork created by local artisans. We are in our 13th season of hosting guests from around the US and Europe. Right on the water, you can enjoy panoramic views and beautiful sunsets on the spacious deck, or in one of two Florida rooms. We offer public water and sanitation, a big plus over cottages with filtered lake water and septic systems.

Nearby is the town of Penn Yan, with groceries, laundry, restaurants, and every amenity you'll need. And you're in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country, and a short drive from dozens of wineries and craft breweries, offering world class vintages and delicious food. You're also close to a marina, a beautiful lakeside public park, golf, and much more.

You're also close to the charming towns of Hammondsport and Watkins Glen, NY, both of which won "Coolest Small Towns in America" designation in travel publications.

The cottage sleeps 6 very comfortably, with one of the 3-season Florida rooms doubling as a third bedroom. We also welcome up to two pets. You're going to love it here!

Finger Lakes Getaway

The house was absolutely adorable and well stocked for us. And the location was perfect. Right on the lake but so close to town it was less than a 5 minute drive to grocery stores and restaurants. My only minor complaint would be the uneven dock boards. We all tripped on it at one point or another but it was easy to get used to. The host was very nice and responsive. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful Keuka Lake View

We enjoyed our stay. Had a wonderful time exploring the area: hiking, wineries and breweries. The cottage had everything you may need plus a beautiful view.The only problem was we didn't stay long enough. Next time!

Beautiful Cottage Right on Keuka Lake

We truly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was charming, clean, comfortable and well appointed with everything you would need. It is right on the water with great views. We enjoyed the kayaks (perfect timing, as the docks were about to be pulled in for the winter, but the marina workers held off when we told them we were there for the weekend.) The town of Pen Yan is conveniently about a minute drive away, but the cottage is away enough from town to still feel private. I highly recommend this property.

Magical Chalet

This beautiful chalet on the lake delivers! My family joined me as I celebrated a milestone. We gathered everyday to enjoy meals on the deck overlooking the lake. Lovely sunsets! The birds sang to us every day at dawn and dusk. I appreciate the care and comfort that has been placed on the details of this home. A true home away from home.

Cute cottage on the lake with all the amenities.

Had ALL the amenities you could want, including 2 kayaks, a paddle boat, a dock for our 18ft fishing boat. Beds were comfy and the neighborhood was very quiet in mid May. Used the grill a lot. Our dog was very happy and settled in quickly. Fished off the dock at dusk and got fish, catch & release.

Great property and area.

The chalet was clean and well supplied. Also very comfortable accommodations. The bedrooms large and had all the comforts of home. Heaters available although didn’t need as gas fireplace kept place cozy. We found trails to explore and enjoyed walking our 2 small dogs. Highly recommend. Weather was iffy which meant we couldn’t enjoy the lake and kayaks but was enough to see in the area to keep us happy. Watkins Glen only 25 minutes. Back deck overlooking the lake was so nice! Highly recommend.

A great time

My husband and I, who live in Wisconsin, met our two friends, who live in Germany, at the Chalet at Keuka. We had a wonderful time. The chalet was clean, tastefully decorated, and well equipped for everything. We really enjoyed the deck and the beautiful views of the lake. We had fun exploring the area, visiting the distillery, a winery and finding good places to eat. We had one day of rain, but it didn't matter, as we found plenty to do. What a beautiful and interesting area! Thanks for sharing your condo with us. We have great memories of our stay at the Chalet at Keuka.

Excellent rental overall, not great swimming

Happy to see property looked better in person even than on website. Also, all was very well cleaned (a relief after a couple of past experiences with renting (not necessarily with VRBO). There were a few more steep stairs in getting to cottage (last step seemed like a longish drop) than we thought. My only big disappointment was the shallowness of the lake area extending a long way out and the muckiness of the lake bottom and more weeds than I had hoped since I like to swim.

Charming cottage in superb location

Our family (and dogs) stayed for several days to celebrate Father’s Day and my dad’s birthday. We had a wonderful time and we were sad to say goodbye. The cottage is well stocked with many items you will need. A few days, we cooked at the house using both the grill and kitchen. On other days, we took advantage of the brief 3 minute drive to the little town of Penn Yan and sampled some of it’s amazing bars and restaurants. Our favorite was Laurentide Brewing! Good food, great beer and entertainment. We enjoyed playing in the lake with our dogs (the puppy is an official water dog now). Everyone took the opportunity to kayak and loved watching the sunsets each night. The one drawback was the lack of a ladder or steps at the dock. It made getting in and out of the water difficult, but it was not a dealbreaker. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! We all were in agreement that it was our favorite location so far. Thanks so much for sharing your cottage with us.

Excellent location

Nice location lake rental. Home was stocked well for linens, paper goods, spices, kitchen items. Kayaks & paddle boat were a nice addition. Very clean. Comfortable beds.

Had a wonderful vacation. Location was great. House was well maintained. Great living areas, space for a full family. Kitchen was plentifully stocked, well organized and had everything needed for cooking. Kayaks and paddle boat were great to have on the water. Would stay again.

Great place to stay on the lake. Incredibly clean. Plenty of beds. Super close to Penn Yan. Very shallow part of the lake. Kayaks were a HUGE plus.

Everything you need for a weeks stay!

The owners of this home have thought about the visitors every need. Great bedding, well stocked kitchen, nice bathrooms, and newer appliances. Organized, and very clean! Great place for a small group! Close to everything you may need, and lots to do in the area!

Very nice short stay at the cottage.

Overall, a very nice property. We have stayed at numerous VRBO's and AirBnb's, and Vacasa and we were impressed with the cleanliness, ease of check in, communication, overall condition of the property, the neatness and completeness of the cutlery, tableware, glassware and cookware in the cabinets and drawers. Beautiful views off the back deck with a quick walk to the small dock and very easy access to Penn Yan and its restaurants and shops. And one of my pet peeves; a coffee maker that worked. Some small gripes. If you are going to have a sound system or some type of entertainment system, it should be modern and work properly. The only one available had an extremely old Apple iPod hookup....circa early 2000's.... and the FM radio was useless. Also, I can't remember is this is in the listing, but if you are tall, or have tall guests, you DEFINITELY need to watch your head, especially the lower floor kitchen area. Lastly, the front door, and back door need screens on the storm door portion/opening to allow the flow through of air that is mentioned even on the instruction sheet on the dining table. Without those doors having screens, the airflow was significantly reduced and at night the bugs would have flooded the place. As I mentioned, overall very minor gripes on what we all saw as a superior property and location.

My wife and I have vacationed all around the Finger Lakes for years, and in late 2012 we were fortunate to become cottage owners. Spring, summer, or fall, the Finger Lakes region is among the most beautiful in the country.

When comparing rates and amenities to other Finger Lakes properties, we think you'll find The Chalet very appealing!
