Clean and fresh getaway!

This place was very clean and convenient! Check in was very simple, and we were pleasantly surprised by the size and style! The location was great and near a little shopping area. The easy access to the beach was also a pleasant surprise. We would happily stay here again!

Cute, clean place

This was a great stay for us. The place is super cute (matches the pictures) and well-equipped. The bed is comfy and the A/C is a relief. I especially liked the guestbook with local recommendations. Definitely recommend!

Location, location, location Kapaa

Wonderful ground floor unit with all amenities needed for our great stay. Would have appreciated knowing about construction wall along the entire block across from the units...rather an eye sore. Enjoyed the convenience of walking to grocery and eateries as we did not have a car. Pools were nice, clean and not crowded. All in all a satisfying stay in paradise.

The room was clean, had lots of towels and linens too! Everything worked perfectly, including the AC, coffee maker, fridge TVs! We absolutely loved staying here as well as this beautiful island. If we make the trip to kauai again, we will be back here for sure! You must stay here!!

Reviewer Comments: J8 is a short walk to the Coconut Market Place for an awesome market, restaurants, and shops. the condo is cute, clean, and well stocked with plenty of linens and beach necessities. AC works great! J8 sits right at the walking path and is a short walk to the water. this is not a swimming beach, nice for walks and beautiful sunrises. Even being on the path, never had a bit of noise. Washer & dryer on site, for a small fee. Garden Island was always quick to answer questions, they are a pleasure to work with. Convenient to drive to the North and South shores for the day! I have to say everything was perfect.

It was walking distance from shopping, restaurants, and a beautiful beach. We were able to explore the island within a short drive. The house was adorable and very comfortable for the two of us! We had previously stayed in one of the condos rented by Garden Island Properties, and knew that they were a very good company to rent from, and that we would have no problem if any issues came up during our visit. But everything was great, check in and check out couldn’t have been easier, and the condo was well equipped with everything we would need. Will definitely rent from them on any future visits! Aloha!

The property and owners were amazing and very communicative - everything is clean, clear, up-front. Comfortable, cozy and large unit with EVERYTHING you'd need for a perfect Kaua'i vacation: beach chairs, umbrella, beach umbrella, cooler, full size fridge and all you'd need for cooking at "home." Spare blankets and sheets for the couch bed. Plenty of room to entertain, large patio, and walking distance from the beach, Coconut Marketplace and downtown Kapa'a! Definitely would recommend and stay here again.

Nice Condo Centrally Located

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our time in unit J8. It is well maintained with a cozy feel. There is a nice laundry room in the building also. The location is centrally located and made it easy to go north or south in a short amount of time. The only challenge was the “beach” across the road. It is not a nice beach at all. More like an impassable lava field preventing access to the ocean. Many homeless tents there also. Not a deal breaker, because of the numerous nice beaches near by. There is also a very nice shopping area within walking distance.

Perfect Place to Come Back to After a Long Day of Adventures

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I chose to stay here for our "babymoon" and we were not disappointed with that decision. We wanted somewhere that felt like home to come back to after a long day of beach going, hiking, exploring, etc and this was exactly that. It's tough to decide what was the best part - the location or the place itself. The location was perfect for exploring the whole island - nothing is more than an hour away and for the most part everything we wanted was within a 20-40min drive. The ability to walk onto the beach was amazing as well - we took advantage of that every sunny morning we had to enjoy the sunrise. The place itself was well decorated and had everything we needed. Be sure to go to the room and look in all the cabinets before you go to the store - they likely have many things you think you may need. Would definitely stay again.

Issues with Amenities

Location of unit was easy to get to many things on the island and close to shopping and restaurants. The unit itself was well furnished and decorated and fairly clean. They provided chairs, umbrella, cooler and sand toys which was a big plus! Beyond that amenities for the building had issues. We had a delay in our arrival and tried to called after hours security upon check in, they do not pickup their phones. Trying to figure out how to pay for laundry was a nightmare and expensive and property management has no idea and provides the wrong information. Pool was dirty and full of bugs. I ended up developing a rash after staying on this property. Hot tub was not working.

Great location but dated

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property was in a great centrally located area, close to great amenities and just a short (less than 5 minute) walk to the beach. However, the cleanliness of the property was subpar and it's very dated. The shower head is rusted and corroded and AC unit is very old/rusty and extremely loud and obnoxious, so you can't really use it at night while sleeping to keep the place cool. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom, so that helped. The bed was comfortable also, which is important. Although the place looked nice when you walked in, it's still dated and could use some upgrades, especially a shower head and AC unit. Otherwise, it was a great place to crash because we were barely there anyways as we explored the Island.

Fence & homeless camp detracted from an otherwise nice property

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While the property itself was very nice and what we expected, we were dismayed to find a fence between the property and the grassy field that leads to the beach. I am familiar with the area and was not expecting a fence made of 8 foot high plywood topped with about 3 feet of mesh screening above that. Whats more, behind the fence, it seems that a homeless camp has sprung up, i.e. tents, people coming and going through a hole in the fence, police routinely coming through. We were even treated to a man from the encampment showering in the outside shower on the corner of our unit, I had searched the area on google maps and the fence was not there on the most recent update in 2012. Our hotel concierge told us the fence went up 3 or 4 years ago. Because of the unsightliness of the fence and concern about safety with a homeless camp nearby, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to others. It's a shame because the unit was very nice and well located.

Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that the police and the owner of the vacant land across the street have cleared out the campers. We are happy to hear you found the unit clean and thought that the property was nice; which indeed it is with the 3 pools and 2 hot tubs and so conveniently located to numerous boutiques, shops, restaurants and grocery stores.
