Confortable Ocean Breeze Home

Notre maison est situĂ©e sur le spectaculaire sentier Cabot avec une vue magnifique sur l'ocĂ©an. SituĂ© juste en face de l'ocĂ©an, Ă  un jet de pierre, vous pouvez sentir l'eau salĂ©e et sentir la brise de mer sur votre visage lorsque vous sirotez votre cafĂ© du matin tout en regardant les barques de homard tirer leurs piĂšges juste au large. Les vues sont particuliĂšrement frappantes au coucher du soleil lorsque la lumiĂšre scintille de couleur or sur l’eau. Regardez derriĂšre vous et tout ce que vous voyez sont des kilomĂštres et des kilomĂštres de montagnes. Notre ville natale est vraiment un endroit magique.

Notre maison est presque centenaire, rĂ©cemment rĂ©novĂ©e, elle a trois chambres et une salle de bain complĂšte Ă  l’étage, une grande cuisine, salle Ă  manger et salon au premier Ă©tage, avec une vue splendide sur l’ocĂ©an, ainsi qu’une buanderie complĂšte chambre (encore Ă  rĂ©nover). Ponts sur les deux cĂŽtĂ©s (vue sur l'ocĂ©an) et Ă  l'arriĂšre de la maison (montagnes et aprĂšs-midi Ă  l'ombre). Il est Ă©galement Ă©quipĂ© d'appareils Ă©lectromĂ©nagers, y compris laveuse et sĂ©cheuse, tĂ©lĂ©vision Ă  Ă©cran plat et de tout le nĂ©cessaire pour la maison. Nous sommes Ă  quelques minutes Ă  pied de la ville (5 minutes), le parcours de golf de Le Portage est pratiquement dans notre arriĂšre-cour et le parc national des Hautes-Terres-du-Cap-Breton est Ă  5 minutes en voiture.

The location is gorgeous, with a view of the water and the awesome Cape Breton National Park very close. The house is comfortable and a good value for the price. The host is nice and very available to answer questions.We enjoyed our stay (even though all trails on the island were closed because of risk of fires).

Wonderful location and view

We had a very nice visit. Great location and the sunsets were terrific. Nice lighthouse in the distance to enhance the setting sun. The location of the house is central to the Cabot Trail and Skyline Trail. Cheticamp is a nice area to visit.

Girls hiking getaway

House and property were very clean, well Organized, comfortable and well stocked. The sunsets across the road on the ocean were beautiful. Jeannie was very responsive and helpful and I would stay here again and recommend it. Thanks Jeannie!

We love Cheticamp!

Aucoin Bakery, a slew of restaurants, a comfy house with h great views of the Bay....this house has it all and more. It is located near the entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Easy in, easy out, clean and perfect place to relax.

This home is located a short drive from the grocery store and places to eat. It is also a short drive to the Visitor’s Centre for Highlands National Park and to the trail heads for a number of trails. We chose this home for its location. Check in had a glitch as the door was supposed to be left unlocked but wasn’t. The owner was able to give us the location of a spare key so we could get in. This worked fine but could have been a problem as cellular data can be weak. We had one house key for the 6 of us. A keypad entry would be a nice upgrade. The house had the things we needed so our stay was pretty comfortable. The house is very old and the owners have done some cosmetic upgrades. Some suggestions would be towel rods/ hooks as there was nowhere for 6 of us to hang our towels. LED lightbulbs would provide better light. The house was fine for our purposes and was where we wanted to be.

What a wonderful gem!

The communication with the owner was very smooth. The location was amazing - beautiful view on the ocean, within walking distance of downtown and short drive to the hiking trails. The house is gorgeous and really spacious for 6 people. I actually thought that the dining area was going to be dark after seeing the pictures online, but it was so bright. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this house to any family or friends who would like to visit the area. Thank you Jeannie for your kindness and for offering such a beautiful house to visitors.

Great trip

Here are a few things that we would like to add: There was not enough shampoo, no saran wrap or foil paper, no tea or coffee, no curtains in patio door. Oven mitts should be replaced as one of the ladies got burned removing something from oven. Every place that we stayed had enough shampoo and all these items mentioned above.We would like to say thank you for letting us sign in at 3 pm instead of 4 pm which helped a lot.

Awesome Home in Cheticamp!

Spent two weeks at Jeannie's home in Cheticamp. Since my husband's family lives down the road, this was the perfect location. We were able to spend so much time with his family. We hiked, kayaked, 4-wheeled into the mountains, golf at Le Portage and also at Highland Links. Great location and beautiful sunsets. Spent a lot of time walking the Old Cheticamp road. Ate at L'Abri and went to the Aucoin bakery every day. All within a few minutes of the house. We needed to reach out to Jeannie for a small issue and she had a repairman at the house that day!!.

The paint on some walls was peeling. There was a rotten food in salad spinner in the cupboard. Broken patio chair that someone sat in and fell through. Missing transition strips between rooms etc.

Proche des services de Chéticamp. Splendides couchers de soleil sur le golfe bien visibles de l'intérieur comme de la terrasse. Par contre, bruyant car sur la Cabot trail et trafic matin et soir. Cuisine bien équipée.

My favorite “go to” place is near the ocean, I have made all my best life decisions to the sound of the waves. I love the beach! I am friendly, but very quiet and easy going. I enjoy silence and alone time and I’m a great listener. My family is my priority. I have four amazing children and two equally amazing grandchildren.

I believe there are two primary choices in life; to accept things as they are, or accept the responsibility for changing them.

This property has been in our family for many years. As I've mentioned, it is where I have raised my children before moving to Halifax for a career. The house has great sentimental value to me and remains close to my heart.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The house is centrally located and a short walk to the ocean, town, golf and many other amenities. The ocean views from the room/deck on the front of the house are spectacular, while the afternoon shade and view of the mountains on the back deck sooth the weary soul. The property brings me a sense of peace that I don't find in the city.
