Beautiful spot in the country

Great comfortable renovated barn in the countryside. Perfect spot for exploring the many villages and towns close by. Amanda and Graham were wonderful hosts and very welcoming. The gite was spotless and wonderfully set up. The pool was such a bonus at the end of a day’s sightseeing.

Good location to investigate prehistoric sites

Amanda and Graham are a lovely hard working couple who tried to ensure our stay was comfortable. Many of the prehistoric sites are between 10-20kms away. The village of Marquay itself is small but it is 10kms from Sarlat-la-Canéda and large supermarkets. The salt water pool is 12m and beautifully maintained.

Beau séjour en Dordogne

Le gîte est très bien aménagé et décoré avec soin. La présence de climatisation sur la totalité des pièces de vie est un plus très appréciable pendant les périodes de canicules. Tout comme la belle piscine, partagée avec les autres gîtes de la propriété. La région est magnifique et la quantité de choses à découvrir à proximité est impressionnante. Pour finir, Amanda est une hôte réactive et très sympathique.

The region offers a perfect blend of picturesque landscapes, rich history, and a authentic rural lifestyle. We were drawn by the charm of the area, its friendly community, and the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities like walking, exploring caves, and discovering historic sites. Living here has allowed us to immerse ourselves in the timeless beauty of the Dordogne and to share that special peace and charm with our guests.
