We had a wonderful stay. The beautiful late-summer weather certainly played a major role, allowing us to thoroughly enjoy the lovely swimming pool. Le Pigeonnier is a beautiful, authentic property with a delightful garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. As for the rest of the house, the décor is simple and charming rather than luxurious. Claude is welcoming and an excellent guide to the local area (restaurants and prehistory). Highly recommended!

This was a clean and comfortable gite, with the added bonus of part of it (kitchen and twin room) being in an old dovecote. The kitchen was well-equipped. Host Claude was very friendly and helpful. Le Pigeonnier was in a lovely village, with a bakery and a friendly bar that did good food too. Lots of things to do in the area, but equally the pool was a great place to spend time in the heat.

We spent a fabulous few days here. The accomodation is charming and clean. It was so lovely to have stayed somewhere where they had actually taken care to provide good quality pans for cooking, nice crockery to use. We loved sitting outside in the early evening to catch the last of the sun. It is situated in a really central place for everything and we loved our walk out everyday. We travelled as two friends and it was great that we both had our own space if we needed it. We will definately come back here if we are in the area. Thank you so much.

A stunning property in an absolutely beautiful location. The building is quirky, old and really charming and has very nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy the gorgeous views. Inside areas also stayed nice and cool in the heat. It's a lovely village with a cafe and boulangerie and we followed an interesting trail that took us around the church, old streets, a herbal garden etc. The pool was great - a really good size for the kids to practice swimming and very welcome in the heat. The location was even better than we expected - Rouffignac on our doorstep, as well as La Roque Sainte Cristophe - and other lovely villages and towns very nearby. Wish we had much longer than a week to explore! The host is extremely knowledgeable about about prehistory, of the area and in general, - absolutely fascinating and a wonderful experience! We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return.

A house with lots of character, a lovely pool and two minutes from the local bakery and bar. The affordable price reflected in lack of frills and luxury details. We enjoyed our stay very much!
