Today, Montmartre is frequented by tourists from all over the world, it being one of the several "monuments" or places to see while visiting Paris: the Eiffel Tower, Place Concorde ( where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette lost their heads to the guillotine) l'arc de triomphe, les champs Elysees, Notre-Dame, le Marais, la Bastille, le Quai-Dorsay etc. All of these monuments are easily and quickly assessible from the apartrment.You will be surprised that Paris is very small and that each of these momuments is in walking distance from the other.
As far as being serviced by public transportation, the apartment is well located. There is a bus ( the 95) which goes directly from where I live in Montmartre to la rive gauche (where are situated the Universities including the Sorbonne, the Pantheon, Assas, the School of Medicine, les Beaux Artes etc. passing by the financial centre and its famous Department Stores ( Lafayette, et le Printemps), l'Opéra, le Louvre and le Jardin des Tuileries, le Palais Royal, La Comédie Française, Saint-Germain-de Près, Montparnasse etc. Close to Montparnasse you will find the Latin Quarter and Le Jardin du Luxembourgh. The 95 busline can also take you to the famous Marché des Puces, a stones throw from Montmartre. There are also two metro stations at about 3 to 4 minutes walk from the apartment. Each of the lines that stop at these stations has good connections to the other lines that service Paris and its surrounding towns.
I want to rent this apartment furnished to tourists for short periods of time. Why do I want to rent it to tourists for short periods of time ? Because, I want the people who rent it to enjoy it during their stay in Paris, not only for its spacious disposition and all of its amenities for daily living but also for all of the pieces of art ( scuptures, paintings etc,) silverware, furniture, china, linen, glassware, etc, that were acquired for it when I lived in it. I want my guests to enjoy this apartment just as I have enjoyed it during the past 10 years. Presently, I live in a flat I had constructed just above the apartment on the 6th floor.
Let me describe the apartment! It covers an area of 110 square metres and is in the shape of a horseshoe. It is decorated in the style of Louis XV just as is the building. Its furnishings are in the styles of Louis XV and Louis XVI and of the Napoleonic Empire. It has two bedrooms each of which is air conditioned and has it own queen size bed and bathroom or shower room decorated in black marble. Both of these bedrooms have lots of closet space one of which has its own dressing room. One of these bedrooms has its own television and shares a B.O. sound system with the living room and dining room. The other, which has its own internet connection also has its own B.O. sound system which it shares with a fully modern kitchen decorated in black granite that is fully equiped (containing among other things a dishwasher, a dryer, a washing machine, 2 ovens, 5 gas burners, a microwave oven, 2 deep stainless steel sinks, an expresso coffee maker, kitchenaide mixer, and other appliances). In the middle of the horseshoe is a large living room with a wood fireplace and its own B.O. and Sonos sound system and a dining room which can seat 8 people comfortably. In the living room there is a leather couch which can be made into a double bed. Thus, the apartment could accomodate 6 people comfortably!
There are two entrances to the apartment just as there are two W.C's ( two powder rooms consisting of a toilet and sink) each of which is close to a bedroom. One entrance is attached to a long hallway which has its own library containing books in both the English and French languages. Because each bedroom is located at the end of one leg of the horseshoe, if two couples or a couple with two children were to rent this apartment, the privacy of each couple or of the parents and of the children will not be compromised. Furthermore, because of the two entrances each of which has a separate access to one leg of the horseshoe, if two couples travelling together were to rent the apartment, each could be independent of the other allowing it to arrive home late without disturbing the other couple who might have preferred to go to bed early. Finally there is a door which could be locked between the two halves of the apartment to conserve each other's privacy ( one half consisting of an entry, a powder room, a bedroom with its own bathroom, the living room and the dining room and the other half consisting of the hallway with the library, a powder room, the kitchen and a bedroom with its own bathroom.

Reservation deposit of 30 % of total tariff is not refundable in case of cancellation. The weekly charge of 2240€ is for up to 4 persons. An additional charge of 80 € per person for a max. of 2 additional persons over 4 persons. For the months of January and February the weekly rate for up to 4 persons reduces to 1600 €.

The apartment is next to the commercial centre of Montmartre, la rue Damrémont with its chocolate, cheese, wine, beer & antique shops, restaurants and bistros. There are plenty of restaurants in the area offering the finest cuisine for afforable prices. Close by is another frequented spot called la rue Lepic with its outside cafés and bistros. At walking distance, is the Place Clichy with its famous brasseries like Wepler and Charlot where you can eat wonderful shell fish!
